What are the rules for doing forum turn stuff together? Francis and Alice wanted to find a good offensive spell together.

Making new spells requires a minimum of three hours of work, and a DC 7 check. No day long cooldown, but if you spend all day every day on it, you may be punished by Weird. Or Magia, since it's that kind of deity.

Oh. Derp. To do stuff together, you need the approval of the other player, and the same amount of time in the same timeslot needs to be spent. It's up to Weird on whether or not you can make a spell together and what difficulty checks need to be made. This is the first time in Magia history it's been done.

If we do it together, we're probably going to get them same spell, which means it probably has a low prereq, and thus, just as low of a use.

I remember in Defenders of Cane (the campaign Weird GMd beforehand), we did highest + 1/4 of lowest = final total, with some bonuses for three or more people (that have never really triggered). Because of number shrinking, I might suggest 1/3 this time around instead of 1/4.

Well, considering you two are different classes and elements, I'd assume making a full spell you can both use would be harder than doing it on your own. Maybe making a cantrip for now would be a better idea?

Yes, you can do the advancement checks if you don't have any points. If you do the checks while having points, you don't lose them. Points are guaranteed advancement, and they, unlike the checks, count towards level progress.
