Can I reasonably play Dark Souls with a mouse?  I'm *really* bad with XBOX controllers.  PS2 ones I do fine so maybe I could get a tiny XBOX controller?  Or a different USB gamepad?  I'm worried my real trouble is with aiming using a joystick-nub-whatchamacallit.  I don't have the hang of nudging it slightly for fine aiming.

My friend has played both DS games exclusively on PC with KB&M.  He's been very satisfied. There's not much aiming to be done though, for what it's worth.

I find it extremely frustrating to play Dark Souls with a mouse. The tiniest incorrect movement sends the camera whizzing in the other direction at supersonic speed, and moving the sensitivity down even a single notch makes it far too slow. As bad as I am with a controller, I find it impossible with a mouse. Also, the PC version's UI graphics are completely copy-pasted from the Xbox version, so all the prompts, control hints, tutorials and even messages left by other players will refer to Xbox controls rather than keyboard or mouse buttons.

Oh yeah, it's definitely a shoddy port. But I believe there's a mod to fix those key prompts (among other, many other things).

Great game though, regardless of port quality. And I too vastly prefer a controller.

When a game is almost keyboard-only, and/or almost mouse-only, but there's one little thing that necessitates the use of an entire extra input device and a second hand.

Look, guys, you're not really hardcoring Dark Souls unless you do it with the horrible keyboard and mouse controls. You're just a filthy casual, and the only DS you should be playing is the one with Pokemon inserted in its port.

Real gamers redo the butterfly boss 300 times and we ENJOY IT.

Gaming Pet Peeves - Lack of bonuses for best times/flawless fights/S-grades etc.
In the recent years there was and still is, worrying trend of replacing joke weapons-characters/funny cheats/extra stuff with pointless achievements and often selling those things ( joke weps etc ) as a DLC ( looking at you Just Cause 2 ).

I don't play RTS games, but I'd find that annoying too. It distracts from the rest of the game, decreasing immersion. It's saying "stop paying attention to this mastercrafted piece of entertainment and look at these BOOBS!"

I just find it really juvenile. "I like boobies, therefore there should be huge boob ladies in my video games!" I almost thought Mass Effect was going to split the difference with semi-realistic form-fitting armor but reasonable body proportions... then Benezia, a revered elder of her people, has tits the size of her head and a boob window to match. Because when I'm seeking titillation, I immediately turn to bloody Mass Effect and not, you know, a porn site or something.

The real measure is how the camera and physics handle this character.

If someone has large boobs but is otherwise treated like... they are just boobs and not "HOLY COW BOOBS!" then I find it acceptable so long as it isn't an epidemic of large boobieness.

Mind you a mother goddess having large boobs... is rather... mythologically correct. I do find it interesting that some of the depictions of goddesses would probably be considered "too much" today... Then I am also reminded of Frigyr one of the only male gods of fertility who is usually depicted naked with a large...

All in all what I mean is... We don't want to be slut shaming actual people for having generous endowment.

No, but in a situation where you could put a sandwich, you should totally pick peanut butter. Have it in the background. That's how you convert the infidels. Cultural peanutism.
