Hm...I'm not sure we can stay hidden from these guys. We certainly can't start a fire--firebreath tends to be bright enough to attract attention, and that's the last thing we want right now.

Think about what we know about the legal status of familiars, dragons, demons, etc.

Think about what we know about the legal status of familiars, dragons, demons, etc.

Familiars

Normally the Master of it will be held responsible - in his absence "direct" action against the familiar is really not unheard of. They are also mostly executed alongside their masters, seeing as an animal that was magically tinkered with, is mostly unable to function properly without the aid of a mage. A mercy killing, really. As some people with softer souls think otherwise, there are actually quite a few familiar animal-homes that take care of them during their often enough short and miserable life. The later practise is actually far more controversial than the former.

Demons
Except the magical guild has pressed the local authority into laws that say otherwise - wich is not as rare an occurence as one might hope to think - they are fair game. In practice you most probably get the ire of some mage or even of a whole cult, but by the laws you enjoy immunity for it. Humanoid beings with extraplanar blood do not count into this category, unless specified by law. There are actually so few of them that a seperate ruling is made for most of them, to make clear as what they will be counted. Those that do not make the "humanoid"-cut are frequently purged from this plane. There are also singular reports of them being summoned back into this plane, this time obviously fully demon, so it might not be as bad as it sounds. Or those reports are rumours geared at this reaction, who are we to know.

Dragons
There is exactly one precedence of a juvenile "rogue" dragon being killed. Well, after it burned down over 3 kingdoms - often enough with hit and run tactics - not even the dragons seemed to care about it. The beastmen did make a point to send a few elite troops to support the effort, having it deemed unfit to bear the honour of being a dragon. There is a persistent rumour among scholars that they also boar the message "You really had it coming" from Zh'vhkur, but it is a rumour at most.

+1 to getting out of there.
Next time we slay a cat, let's see if we can wear it's skin like a trenchcoat.

If you're going to argue about that, while I argue about what we should do now with what we know now, our arguments can never cease because we're arguing over different things. Really, is there a point?

And I don't think we can wear a cat's skin like a trenchcoat. Several problems:
1. There are many, many ways to skin a cat, but very few (if any) are available to someone without thumbs.
2. A lot of the cat isn't skin, like the teeth, claws, and eyes.
3. We have no zippers, so the place we cut for us to enter would hang open.
4. We may be about cat-sized, but we're certainly not cat-shaped.
Our best bet for a better cat disguise would be better illusions. Shame we didn't add a point to Magic, maybe we would have gotten one...

It's not a victory, it's me pointing out we're aiming at different targets. Possibly in different rooms.

IT'S SIMPLE: MAKE A HOLE, CRAWL IN!
With this crowd? Only a matter of time now...  :P

Nigh time to get out of here, and getting out of view quickly might also be advisable. As soon as you exit your place of hiding thou, there are some obvious stares into your direction -  with the people soon murmuring and pointing to your direction. You wonder if that means that not only the magicians and guards are after your tail, but quite possibly the townspeople as well. Since they do not make any attempts at your freedom you disregard the thought. They do call for the guards thou, and with no other choice you dash off in a hury.

You try to climb over some piled up junk and onto a nearby roof, but after two tries it turns out to be impossible for you. The shrill whistles of the guards break into a chorus, unmistakebly giving away your location and calling others. With no viable option for climbing any of the roofs around you have no other choice but to run further. You also see the first team of guards blocking one route of escape behind you, the people building a curious and willing wall behind them. They seem to regard the whole thing with some slight excitement, but wile there is a lot of stirring, the emotions behind all that do not to seem very strong.
+1 MP

Deciding on the direction with the least whistling, you make a run for it. Running through an alley, you spot to no surprise that the previous guards are following you – as they do not close in you can only guess that they are waiting for magical support. Honing your mind for a small moment, you reassuredly take notice that the trio of mages is still quite a ways off. They do close in on your previous hideout thou, your fear about them having found some trail proven to be correct.

When you arrive at the next fork, you see that a number of guardsmen have gathered in each of them. Relief washes over you as soon as your gaze falls upon a stack of wood – neatly lined up next to a porch and giving you an easy access towards the roof. Sadly it seems that the soldiers won't have that much of a problem in following you up on the roof, but it sure seems better than being surrounded on the streets. Now that they found you, the guards seem way less tense. Even when you escape onto the roof there is not much of a stirring to be felt.

With somehow having made it out of immediate danger, you make a quick decision on your next plan of action.

Now, that went.. well. I guess. Hey, at least they did not catch or murder us yet. Thats the job of the mages.  :P

Really wishing we had just introduced that guy who picked us up to a faceful of claw, much less blatant. Oh well.

Ok, time to get out of here. Scarper over the rooftops, attempt to use mental map of town to find an area of roofs where it would require a lot of manpower to cut off all escape routes, preferably where we can get a bit of cover. If there are chimneys in the area, all the better. Play Yakety Sax in our head.

Towers tend to have roofs. Unless you suggest we fly in a window...which would put us in the tower. However, once we get in the tower...what then?
What? I don't even...
Especially if we start off from somewhere high up, like, say, that tower.

We couldn't have clawed him, he was wearing armor, and was holding our limbs. A double-illusion would have been better.
-1 to chimneys. We want to use our gliding as much as possible to get major distance on the guardsmen. Use mental map to try losing them by gliding over large gaps?
Try to get out of the city.

He was holding us right in front of his face, and we have four limbs vs his two hands, so I very much doubt he was holding all of them.

Maybe drop a sound illusion somewhere to distract them if needed, or if at some moment there is only one guard, illusion of going into completely different direction, assuming he will call the rest to follow that we went into that direction, except we didn't.

Introduce fire to wood. That will delay the guards for quite some time. Maybe forever, depening on how well it goes.

1. We're a dragon, not a spider.
We're already on the roof, and they should be mostly the same height, so I wouldn't think it would be too hard.

2. Really, the biggest problem isn't the "How do we get inside," it's the "We're inside! What now?"
Are you actually reading what I'm typing?

DRAGON GLIDE TO CASTLE.
