time for my last day re-read. normally I keep my notes to myself, but why not publicize them this time? I probably could use some critiqueing anyway. and if you don't like the way I think, what're you gonna do? lynch me?

Look, all gaming psycho-analysis aside: You're getting a bit annoying kiddo. I understand that you're having fun but this "I am the ultimate power." thing you have going is grating.

As for your notes I can't tell if you're trying to convince people of something or just throwing out statistics.

Mod: This game is so incredibly unbalanced to town it hurts... Hopefully we can nail this sorta thing down in Revolution III.

Okay by me boss.

Of course it is scum-bag.

Day 2
Spoiler: Players (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Day results (click to show/hide)
Sheep: how were your views on Day 2 contradicting?

finally getting some good data. NQT is scum, Sheep seems really town right now, Nerjin seems pretty town too. Shinigami also seems town. Dariush is scum. Tiruin also seems town...
this is a problem, too much townieness from the sidelines. I can't nail down that last scumteam member. hopefully this will be cleared up. pup actually looks pretty scummy right now, because of how hard he was lurking. we'll see how things go from here.

Nerjin - I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I'm legitimately just posting the notes that I'm taking during my re-read (ongoing). I think the reason you're confused by them is because they aren't intended to persuade. I usually keep these to myself and then review them to make cases, I just wanted to make them open to people for once.

PFP

Oh, and on that note Lenglon, what can you say about the two people who has approved TWS' mission?
Those two people were Me and Sheep. analyzing me is pointless, analyzing Sheep is not.
without looking back, Sheep doesn't seem all that scummy. My swapping him for Nerjin in the planned team roster was because Dariush seems scummier than ever to me right now, and you seem less so. so I'm covering my bases as too which one of NQT's scumbuddies I'm least sure of. I'm going to be doing the classic last-day-re-read later on today or possibly tomorrow. So why can't I swap myself with youself? Yes that lacks the 'r'. Why isn't Sheep all that scummy compared to what we're all saying about him? What's your PoV?

Everyone:please propose your dream-team for the mission.
> Nerjin
> Dariush
> The Griffin-bros.

> Myself (lowest priority)...though I'm unsure about griffinpup given his case against Dariush. >_> Pokes about lurking..however Dar is on another timezone and usually doesn't lurk when Mafia games are on (town or scum). All that I got on the top of my head now.
Hmm, you don't like the reasons people don't like Dar. What are they saying and why is it flawed? I'm basing it purely on how he performed the D1 game--his teampick, and his following reasons (RNG + a viable defense for using it, as well as spy logic behind such.

Note: NQT, if a spy, chosen by Dariush, should've sabotaged then. Why would it make sense for him to lie low if the team leader wasn't a spy himself? That hypothetical question really punched my meter.)

I've read partly what others have said to him/dueled with him, and...well, I haven't read it all yet, to be honest. My basis still stands on him here.

Lenglon: So tell me, is stubbornness faring well for you? Will you not, as you said, think about others and their viewpoints as opposed to yours? You've that I.D. card which only you know. Something which you can't persuade us all (counterfeit/forged ID blah blah IC stuff) on the matter given how things worked out before.

Tiruin points at the stack of tape recorders.

Those work. Mostly against you here.

Are you up for changing the team, or will you let yourself go in favor of the group choice?

I'm staying on it because this is the last day, and being right is more important than being popular. I know my own alignment, I only have guesses for anyone else, no matter how strong or weak those guesses may be. "Only."
"Guesses."

So why aren't you answering my question highlighted in orange? Hmm?

EBWOP: Why are you [Lenglon] so adverse to letting opinions flow anyway, and adding yourself to the team instead of anyone else?
quite simply, because a lot of people are basing their logic on me being scum. this is a waste of their energy, and of mine defending against it. If people want to argue that I'm scum, I'm fine with it after this mission. the point will be moot by then anyway. ...Yeah we are basing that.
Because it matters.

Time's running out, Lenglon. It isn't a waste of our energy, as if you're scum, and purely stubborn to shift yourself out (thus proving the other 3 are rebel) AND the mission is a success, then it comes to facts that..well, you can see my logic there, I nudge.

Post-mission? If it comes to a sabotage, it will solely fall on you to blame judging by how stubborn the case is, and how you keep on repeating the fallacy of 'I'm town because I am, and it is unsuitable for discussion. I am what I am.'

*Tiruin stabs Nerjin with a lollipop.*

It ain't unbalanced to town, and the OOC-Suggestions should be sent via PM at best.

Okay by me boss.

Of course it is scum-bag. Yeah, NQT is lazy when scum and caught out on it, and doesn't defense anything.

time for my last day re-read. normally I keep my notes to myself, but why not publicize them this time? I probably could use some critiqueing anyway. and if you don't like the way I think, what're you gonna do? lynch me? Usually, the case here is that you should share your notes, but in most cases that also means leaving leeway for your own personal-personal notes (like assumptions or gut reads or things you aren't sure about--people usually characterize this under a general statement, and leave it to boil in the thinking pot as they move on..until that crucial moment in the day), and the usual case ends in lynching for the lack of setting down knowledge.

Because the notion dictates that people who withhold knowledge have something to hide. That something is more often than not, of devious nature. Seems fallible when taken as a whole, but that's usually the case.

*Tiruin cheers for conscience.*

Ayup. Note ahead of time ;D

Well. You aren't posting in regard to what everyone else did for the past couple of days.
You lack any reason to come up with in regard to that.
You didn't say what held you up after a loooooooooong period of time.
Your preceding posts prior to this one don't explain muchly anything. Other than blankly agreeing to the team.

Why are you agreeing to the team? What is your read on everyone? How do you view Lenglon? Dariush? TWS? Griffionday?

Spoiler: Players (click to show/hide)
falling apart here, going to have to stop for now. placed a link as a placeholder for when I get back to this.

Tiruin, similar to what I said to Nerjin, I'm viewing this as the last day. the problem is nobody is going to trust me unless I get this right. If I get this wrong, then we have to be right on both Week 4 and Week 5. even if we manage a week 4 success, week 5 I wont be trusted so we're going to get it wrong.
and that will be the end.

that's why, in my eyes, this is endgame. I have no options here. Either I get it right, or we lose. game over.
If I get it right, we send the same team Week 4 + 1 player, any player, it could even be NQT for all it matters, because it takes two spies to sabotage week 4. we then win. I don't see how people's opinion of me is even relevant anymore.

anyways, you had questions from my read, one sec.
Quote
So why can't I swap myself with youself? Yes that lacks the 'r'. Why isn't Sheep all that scummy compared to what we're all saying about him? What's your PoV?
because you aren't in the situation of distrust that I am, and you aren't the current team leader. if you were team leader, then actually you COULD do what I'm doing right now. and I'd actually go with it. there's such a thing as just saying "well, if X then we lose anyway, so lets assume X doesn't happen since we can't do anything about it." that's the situation you're in.

Quote

I... Look, I'm pretty tired right now and can't remember what on earth this is talking about. or even who is which "he". do you mind linking me to the key bits of conversation? Is it Pup you think is scummy or Dar?

Quote
Why isn't Sheep all that scummy compared to what we're all saying about him? What's your PoV?
I see him as scatterbrained, but he never pushed his weak attacks too far. he ended up talking about them quite a bit, but that was because he was attacked for it pretty hard, and he needed to reference them to explain himself. I do plan on fully re-evaluating him once I finish the read... which will probably be after a nap or something.

Quote
So why aren't you answering my question highlighted in orange? Hmm?
I thought I had. I had thought your question was if I would remove myself from the team if the group wanted me to, and my answer to that was no. looking at it again, if you mean will I go with the group's choices for who the other three will be? That depends on a mix of things. If the group chooses to send NQT for example, I plan on ignoring the group and not sending him. the same goes for if people just list who should be sent with no explanation or explanation that is relient on me being scum. however, reasoning that actually makes sense really should prevail, and I'm willing to go with the group as long as the group is sane regarding the other three team members.

Quote

I actually can't see your logic this minute, and I also can't see why I should care. You're trying to reason how I might be scum or whatever, and I already know the answer to that question, and you'll know the answer, assuming I'm right anyway, once the mission ends, one way or another. things would be very different if you had a vote, or if this were mission 1 or 2, but at this point, I just plain don't see why I shouldn't be doing this.

Quote
Post-mission? If it comes to a sabotage, it will solely fall on you to blame judging by how stubborn the case is, and how you keep on repeating the fallacy of 'I'm town because I am, and it is unsuitable for discussion. I am what I am.'
yep. hence me calling this the last day over and over and over.

Quote
Could you give us your impression on Dariush (link if missed, but please answer the hypothetical I stated above: The thing with a note on NQT, thanks.)
uh, one moment...
dariush scummy links:this is a big one, but also here
Dariush's total participation in Day 2: agree with NQT team, disagree with the swap solely because it was popular, upvote NQT team, defend himself from sheep, and that final post of his.
argh, reviewing that post it doesn't seem self-evident how it's scummy. 1 sec. ok, two key things in it. "scum cannot communicate" and "Remuthra is scum because he thinks the mission will fail". the first explains the total blank NQT got back when he tried to communicate with Dariush, and the second doesn't make actual sense because I have a tired-headache and cannot explain what is wrong with it. it's scummy though, I'm sure of it. um, patterns... patterns.. wait, ok. he is assuming something he cannot know yet. and it ties in to NQT... wait, ok, he is assuming too many scum. he has hypothedically placed one on the team NQT is proposing, and attributing behavior too him. first, he is assuming NQT is not scum, because NQT has been so hesitant to place Dariush on the team. second, he is assuming Remuthra is scum. third, he is assuming Pup is not scum, or at least is not assuming he is scum, because pup didn't try to get him on the team with remuthra, or in fact give any input at all. he is also pressing sheep on being scum. that means that his operating scumteam is Nerjin, Sheep, and Remuthra. however he doesn't press Nerjin ever during the entire game if I remember correctly, and his reasoning for thinking Remuthra was trying to frame him relies on shinigami and maybe you being scum. that is way too many scum to make sense.
I... I think that's it anyway. Sorry about being kinda rambley, I'm just certain that particular post of his is ringing alarm bells all over the place.

I'll do what you suggested, I'll get some water and rest, ok?

Spoiler: Players (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: day 3 post-team-lock (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Day results (click to show/hide)

well now this is interesting. for some reason dariush agreed to a team with both himself and NQT. Spy-Dariush is risking a double-sabotage, I'd guess going to lay low and sabotage week 4. Rebel-Dariush however is more possible since he was willing to be teamed up with NQT. Sheep is looking less and less connected to reality here, his reasoning isn't so much scummy as crazy. he's also tunneling Dariush hard. Pup-scum seems a lot more possible than it did during my initial read of the game though. Tiruin-scum vs Sheep-scum... that really could go either way.

-working on the logic train of what Pup-scum would mean-
NQT-scum, Pup-scum, Dariush-town, Nerjin-?town, Tiruin-???, Sheep-???, Shinigami-???
ok, he swapped out Dariush for shinigami... why?
wait a sec, Shinigami has been lurking hard, lets see what he...
-reviews shinigami's posts-
he spends pretty much his entire time doing nothing but apologizing for lurking.
and going by memory here, Day hasn't done much either.
And I remember how Day plays as scum from working with him last BM.

Swapping Day out of the proposed team and bringing back... ew, um, who to bring back?
Pup... he's been scummy, but his call-out of NQT really rings as town to me, hard. I'm keeping him.
Nerjin... I dunno... reviewing...
Spy-Nerjin gets no benefit from his recent attacks on me, Rebel-Nerjin doesn't either.
Actually... Spy-Nerjin does get benefit from his attacks on me, and so does Rebel-Nerjin, both are attempting to bully me into making the team a group decision. Spy-Nerjin is aware that spies can manipulate votes in large groups pretty easilly, and Rebel-Nerjin wants to try to take some control back from my military coup and give it to the people.
Assuming Nerjin-spy, Dariush is town, and Dariush says Nerjin-spy doesn't act logically. so a logical analysis of Nerjin doesn't make too much sense. it also matches up with his chaotic personality. uh....
shame
reviewing the post Tiruin got angry at me in...
Yeah, I deserved that.
It's all soft, and... Tiruin has a very good point in there, that she doesn't follow the crowd as scum or not. working off of that... and her responses to my questions made sense.
yeah, swapping Day with Tiruin

current team breakdown:

Lenglon
GriffPup
Tiruin
Nerjin

because it still seems like Dariush is who NQT was talking too, and because I'm having a lot of trouble identifying who was the scum in the crowd of onlookers.
...
and sheep hasn't said squat since I made that power play.
ok, Day-scum, if happy with my choice of team-would stay silent, but sheep?
sheep is probably feeling repressed, because...
because I didn't think things through.
And I listed him as on the team at first, then I removed him from it...
ugh, forget it

and Nerjin-scum is illogical, but he did signal that he was happy with the team
and shinigami-scum was lurking hard either way, and he DID plan on upvoting...
ok, if the scumteam is NQT-Dariush-Day... yeah, that works.
and if the scumteam is NQT-Nerjin-Day... that works even better.
ok, I've really got to get Day off the team, and it's worth the gamble I think to have to nail the onlooking scum in a single shot

Lenglon
GriffPup
Tiruin
Sheep

still need to go over the time period since I joined the game though.

Dariush/Sheep makes sense, so does Nerjin/sheep?
Dariush/Tiruin... yeah, that's freaking undetectable.

Wait... During the BM I just posted some gibberish about probabilities and lurked like crazy?  I like to think that I would have critiqued your team and in general be less awful at playing this game if I were scum.

Two things I want you to consider about griffinpup: firstly the concept and reasons behind busing.  scum-giffinpup very well could be leveraging his ally's communication for the effect of seeming town, at the cost of outing an ally who isn't playing brilliantly; it's unsafe to base your read on only one action if you think everything else weighs toward scum.  Re-read his play and ignore the part on NQT and see if you still consider him as town as say Daruish or Nerjin.  Second do you think that failing a sabotage that they should have had would cause the scum team to be more likely to risk communication or would he just as likely risk that on a future possibility?  Recall that he chose to lay low the first week, and he probably would not have lain low if he were the only scum (I re-read his assumptions week 2 after he said that he'd sabotage, I was wrong that he had suggested otherwise.)

Also, why did you replace Nerjin with Sheep?

you as scum last BM:
Day 1: opportunistic, pretty defensive, don't expose yourself much
Day 2: Tunnel Leafsnail hard, ignore everyone else
Day 3: Lurk until the end, then pull vote shenanigans

generating a cover story (gibberish about probabilities) and lurking hard is actually almost exactly what you did last BM as scum. If you thought you were going to be an automatic team member (which I was implying up until my last post) then you'd keep your activity down to a bare-bones minimum to avoid disturbing a townie read of you.
Recall that he chose to lay low the first week, and he probably would not have lain low if he were the only scum (I re-read his assumptions week 2 after he said that he'd sabotage, I was wrong that he had suggested otherwise.)
good thought, his two most townie actions were the last-second-team-swap and the way he called out NQT as communicating scum, but other than that he's been ringing as lurky to me, and that's unusual for him. problem is, I think he was lurking during the same time period in the last BM, and that he really did have RL issues. that still means that he didn't participate in a lot of the best time periods to get reads on people. and he's also going to be gone up until Monday so I can't even question him properly.
*sigh*
things just keep getting more and more complicated.
Also, why did you replace Nerjin with Sheep?
Nerjin/Day makes sense to me, Dariush/Day does not (see day 2 for why).
If I assume Day is scum, then I need to get Nerjin out of the team.
but yeah, it makes more sense to replace Sheep with Dariush in that case.
bleh

so, why'd you decide to start talking? is it because I removed you from the proposed team list?

I'm currently taking a break from the re-read, still haven't started on Day 4

Wait... During the BM I just posted some gibberish about probabilities and lurked like crazy?  I like to think that I would have critiqued your team and in general be less awful at playing this game if I were scum.
you as scum last BM:
Day 1: opportunistic, pretty defensive, don't expose yourself much
Day 2: Tunnel Leafsnail hard, ignore everyone else
Day 3: Lurk until the end, then pull vote shenanigans

generating a cover story (gibberish about probabilities) and lurking hard is actually almost exactly what you did last BM as scum. If you thought you were going to be an automatic team member (which I was implying up until my last post) then you'd keep your activity down to a bare-bones minimum to avoid disturbing a townie read of you.

Well... I dissagree, but on the other hand I've only the one game to base my scum behavior meta on as well, so I don't really know.  RL has been busy lately (work 9-6 most days, in a machine shop so it's heavy lifting and whatnot).  However I do agree that I'm frankly too lurky right now to go on the team, but that means I need to seriously work on getting reads from the other people to help you identify the other town members (I'm town, but you can safely exclude one of us if you get the rest correct).

so, why'd you decide to start talking? is it because I removed you from the proposed team list?

I'm currently taking a break from the re-read, still haven't started on Day 4
I'm done with work for the week, finished packing for my week home, and need to pull an all-nighter to catch a train at o'dark hundred tomorrow.

fair enough, and I value all the input I can get. I really don't like the way everyone has stopped talking, it's making this even harder than I expected
at least when people were railing at me I could get some idea of how they thought, this total silence... well, it sucks.

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

Have no fear! It is merely the weekend. Slowdowns are to be expected.
