None of the above. The real her isn't visible.

Attack the Red-purple shade!
absolutely not. look at the three shades more closely. the yellow one is different from the other two. the other two are floating, the yellow one is standing.
And the Green one isn't looking at us, the other two are.

Nonetheless, I suspect a shell game. A rigged shell game, of course.

You're right.

Witch had 2 actions. First was Invisibility. Second was Shadow Clones. She's probably still hanging out where she turned invisible.

The question is, what do we do about it? A lot depends on whether the shades are physical and impede movement or attacks.

I propose we move to the throne. If she's still invisible and standing there, we at least prevent her from casting a high damage AoE on our position. Plus, I think melee is our decided strong suit.

She first had a blue glow. There was a yellow glowing and a blue glowing creature we fought, there is now a yellow glowing shade. Perhaps that is a clue?
EDIT: She probably is still standing there. Moving and spells being a full action each and all.

The only thing I can figure this means is that the puffer slimes dealt fire damage, and the candles were fire-based, and her first spell was fire-based, thus she has an affinity for fire more than the others, and is thus the red one.

I still find it hard to believe this isn't a shell game, though.

Though, according to the chart she still has an action left. Are we responding to some kind of choice attack on her part, or is the chart just out of date or what?

Oh yeah. Note that the descriptive text says the shades appear moments later after she dissapeared.

Ah, so it is our official turn now and that was two turns' worth of witchery?

Interesting.

...next question, why would she move into melee with us? We suck at range.

Man, this is tough. I'm thinking the flame motif might be consistent enough for it to be Red, but I'm wary of selecting the right option when presented three by a crazy shadow witch.

Ooh.

But then I don't get FFS' hint at all.

I'm telling you guys, FFS's hint is that you can't do two things at once. Most of this game has been us trying to move and also block/attack/whatever, and FFS saying "no that's not how it works." If Invisibility and Shadow Clones are two separate actions, then she didn't move, and is therefore still at the throne.

I refer you to my previous move into melee range of the throne action.

That would do it. Thanks monk!

+1 etc, although we could also possibly drink that potion or something. Depends on if it recovers more or less HP than her attacks.
