* - note flaw (Delusional), the perception score listed is her base, the flaw makes it effectively far, FAR less.
Virtues: At least 5, no more than 7.
(Critical) - Spellsong - Lelia has learned a very obscure style of magic, using song to infuse magic into an area and eventually make spell-effects occur within that region. It allows her to cast some very powerful magics, but they are location-locked, she requires two turns of singing in the area before she can begin to cast (and considering the way the area begins to glow and minor telltales of the elements she is infusing appear (sparks, frost, etc) it is obvious what she is doing at the time), she has to stay in the infused area (preferably in the center of it, it always infuses in a sphere centered on her current position, so moving starts infusing in a slightly different, but overlapping area. She can cast from the edges of the infused area, but it has reduced effects until the "new" area has had time to become infused.), and it can have no lasting enchantments (magic's effects can remain though - illusions would disappear instantly, but a fire spell's flames would need to fade on their own), it also has some interfeerence with any other magic in the area, they disrupt each other unreliably, with unpredictable effects as they surge against each other. in general the spellsong will win given time, but strong brief normal spells can shove through the spellsong before it can override them. infused energy fades and scatters as she leaves the area, taking several minutes to do so but it never takes even a single hour for it all to fade once she stops.
(Major) - Unnoticed - Lelia was cursed in an attempt to ruin her career, making people naturally ignore her. She has to make a scene to be noticed, or have someone specifically watching for her. She isn't invisible or silent, but her presence doesn't register in people's minds unless it is shoved in their face. For some unknown reason this curse (the same one that gives her Unintelligible) is unaffected by her spellsong, and doesn't interfere with it either. Her guess is that one of the gods decided to enhance it somehow to achieve this effect, but she has no proof.
(Minor) - Beauty - Lelia, despite some odd features for a human, looks good. and when she can get people to notice she exists, they tend to treat her nicely.
Flaws:
(Critical) Unintelligible - Lelia is cursed, anything she says becomes twisted in the ears of the listener, and although they can hear the sounds of her voice, it will never form words and cannot be understood. For some unknown reason this curse (the same one that gives her Unnoticed) is unaffected by her spellsong, and doesn't interfere with it either. Her guess is that one of the gods decided to enhance it somehow to achieve this effect, but she has no proof.
(Critical) Delusional - Lelia's repeated use of spellsong has had some lasting effects on her body, including her vision. She sees a mixture of reality, spirit, and past spirit, and it all erratically flows together. These effects get worse the farther away something is from her. Sometimes she sees things that aren't there, somethings she doesn't see things that are there, sometimes what she sees is twisted into something totally different, and beyond about 100 yards or so (sometimes more, sometimes less) it all becomes so blurred and garish that she can't make heads or tails of it at all. she can usually keep totally straight what reality is when its within about 15 feet of her, and out to about 20 yards or so she gets it right the vast majority of the time, but after that she really can't be sure, and as mentioned, beyond approx 100 yards it's just a complete and total mess.
Hobbies: No more than 3 points.
Picking pockets - When nobody notices you, it really is quite easy to pick a pocket or two. a good way to avoid sleeping on the streets.
Woodcarving - a way to whittle away the time while resting your voice. Lelia can make some basic instruments too, though she isn't a master craftsman or anything.
Mending - better to fix your own stuff than have someone forget to do it for you over and over.
Feats:
Multi-aspect-performance - Lelia is very naturally talented for a bard, and routinely combines song, dance, playing an insturment, and even combat evasion all together into a single performance. This is part of why she is able to perform spellsong, and is part of why others envied her performances.
Lore - Bardic training includes a lot of education about the lore of the surrounding lands, Lelia has an extensive education and is very knowlegeable, able to identify and understand even some of the most obscure things around her. of course, first she has to be sure they're real, and it's not like she can explain it to others very well...
Evasive - Lelia has found that in order to survive in combat, she needs to not get hit very much. She has actively trained herself in avoiding threats quite extensively.
Good enough for now, backstory is mostly written but I'm hanging on to it for now so I can change it if I get any good ideas. also if that other bard seems interested in referencing each other then I might want to modify it.
