You see, whatever you do, you serve his wishes. It is inevitable, Mr. Morgred.
Reference?

Power always comes with a price. The act of dominating and possessing other people is something that automatically gets his attention in much the same way that use of Chaos Magic catches Mingan's interest, killing someone will get Shin to pay attention, or fucking to get Tokee to tune in.

I'm not going to force you to take Critical Flaw: Mind Slave and invoke it on you all the time. It would most likely manifest as a Minor Flaw: Domineering, where a little voice in your head encourages you to regard people as possessions and you get rewarded for doing so. It's a gradual process.

And really, all it takes is a little nudge here and there. It would make it obvious that you were an agent of Daimonas if you were to constantly be rebelling against the control; he's a subtle, mutable, efficient God. There is a reason many other Gods are scared of him, and it's because he's damn good at the Xanatos Gambit.

Wait, does worshipping Mingan get me Chaos Magic?

The answer is yes, but it depends on what Aspect you follow. I figured you were a priest of Undeath, which is more necromancy-focused, but you certainly do have a solid grasp of Chaos Magic.

You actually qualify for a level in Free Mage should you choose to apply some general XP.

And just like that I need fresh pants.

Also, I meant to be a priest of ALL of Mingan's aspects.

Then yes, you definitely know some Chaos Magic from the priestly studies, as well as from Adventurer training. More so from the priest studies, but still.

So what kind of stuff could I pull with my current knowledge? (I need to know if investing XP into 'Free Mage' would be worth it or not.)

A lot?

I'd say with Chaos Magic, you're capable of any spell up to the middle of the fifth level and certain sixth-level spells, whereas with non-Free magic you're at about the fourth, and necromancy the eighth.

Free Magic will get you to the sixth, Wild Magic the eighth, and Elder Magic the tenth plus. Keep in mind I haven't checked your profile before typing, though.

In general, you want to "research/develop" before you cast via Chaos. There's no rules and rituals shaping power into a controlled formula; it's a matter of will and discipline.

You don't HAVE to. It's just a good idea to know how much energy you should put into a fire spell so you don't accidentally open a Planar Gate when you mean to light a candle or melt a face or whatever.

You know, this 'become a God' thing just seems to be getting easier to pull off.

Kinda reminds me of a character I'm playing in a god game.
