"STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! You've violated the law! Pay the court a fine or serve out your sentence!"
This is now how every cop reads you your rights.

I am a huge dick and would never let the character say this no matter how awesome it is.

That made me laugh.

What kinds of special ammo do we have? Also, how far away is he?
Assume firing position! Draw weapon!

If viable, change to stun-ammo and - presuming we do have that option - don't be shy to pull the triger.
No need to riddle him with holes for assault.

You blink-click a control and your Vester deploys, launching out of its holster. You catch it in midair, raising the weapon in a two-handed firing stance. You thumb a switch and the handle flips down and locks into place with a sharp clack. This all happens in the space of half a second and in one deft movement, and meanwhile you're still taking long steps towards the mugger, your pistol trained on the centre of his chest. The man snaps out of his daze and starts backing away from the groaning victim. You shout orders at him loudly and the man jumps. Freeze! Get those hands in the air! The man's startled expression quickly hardens at this display of authority, and he spins on his heel, bolting down the alley away from you. You start running after him, still aiming at his back with one hand.

Name: Kendra Smith
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has long, brown hair thats usually drawn back into a ponytail, or a bun when she's wearing her slipsuit. She has intense purple eyes that practically see into you, and a very serious face. She rarely smiles even when she isn't on the job. Off-duty, she usually wears an immaculate business suit (with pocket square). Occasionally wears an old-fashioned P.I. suit, complete with a duster trench coat, and a small fedora.

If viable, change to stun-ammo and - presuming we do have that option - don't be shy to pull the trigger.

If we do not have that option, use less-lethal ammo (like rubber bullets or what-have-you) and BLAM.

If neither are valid, give chase while radioing in suspect description.

Alternately: DNA tag shot.

Either of the options works. I would also say "Report the assault and request aid for the victim."

You don't have any special ammo. I would have told you about it if you did. So stow the gun and radio it in while continuing the chase?

Darn, thought it might be included in:
Numerous special munitions have been designed for this weapon, and are put to good use by street cops and investigators alike.

What are the protocols on subduing criminal scum? Are we judge dredd, or batman?

Giving off a "warning shot" can do wonders. Double-edged sword thou sometimes - it might just do wonders to the assaulters leg-work afterall. Still worth trying in my book.

Else, radioing in sounds like a good course of action, as would be sending medic relief to the assaulted. Still, we want to keep that as short as possible, because we need that breath to chase someone.

What are the protocols on subduing criminal scum? Are we judge dredd, or batman?
more information about our m.o. sounds good.

Edit; So we define it right now? Would have speculated as much, I like it. ->
Scratch that radio, if he does not comply after our warning we aim for a hopefully non-lethal spot in the leg-area. (How dare he defy the BB - well, or one of it's legal arms that is.)

That doesn't necessarily mean you have any.

That all depends on how you deal with the current situation.
