What?! Why's mine out? If we're playing a noir, might was well cut out the middle man and straight-up play as Bogart instead of trying to create our own interpretations of his characters.

Would it be better if we named him differently? Just happens to look exactly like him?

I've never even seen any of his movies. Plenty of good noir films, new and old, but none starring him.

I believe you're missing the point, I'm not leaving yours out because its yours, I'm leaving it out because its someone else's character. That's Bogart; its his persona and his alone. This is our character. You're free to make another character and I'll take it into consideration just as much as any of the others, along with votes from other players. Being lazy is fine, the character's description doesn't need to be a short story, a sentence would do just fine. But just drop creativity entirely? I don't think so.

So basically, no Bumphrey Hogart either?

Also, I would like to amend my vote to include a pocket square.

A pocket handkerchief. The kind you'd tuck into a jacket chest pocket.

It couldn't hurt. Really I just want one more character to be submitted so I don't feel like I'm tossing a coin.

Also, Gotdamnmiracle has a post reserved, but he hasn't put anything in it just yet. Not sure if I should wait.

Meh, figured it would be more fun to play as the real deal instead of a self-cooked character based on him, (for the record, I'm speaking only for myself here).
Also:
I've never even seen any of his movies. Plenty of good noir films, new and old, but none starring him.
BLASPHEMY!
He's in, like, everything. Synonymous. Mitchum?

If we don't hear from miracle, I'm with gman's with the exception of making him a Bogart clone in appearance-- cloud atlas style.

I'm ok with playing as jack nicholson as well. I'm patient for a day or so. For actions:
Start walking(?) the beat.

Xantolos finally came through with a character of his own.

I'm partial to just chugging on past Miracle's reservation. Last time he made me wait more than a few days before I was forced to skip him, and since then (about a month's time) he still hasn't posted a word on the thread in question. He tends to disappear for good amounts of time, like me, and is forgetful, also like me. :P

Name: Kendra Smith
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has long, brown hair thats usually drawn back into a ponytail, or a bun when she's wearing her slipsuit. She has intense purple eyes that practically see into you, and a very serious face. She rarely smiles even when she isn't on the job. Off-duty, she usually wears an immaculate business suit (with pocket square). Occasionally wears an old-fashioned P.I. suit, complete with a duster trench coat, and a small fedora.

hehe, too late, but here:

Name: Reph Ty Brougham
Gender: Male
Appearance: A 4-foot-11-inch dwarf, hard-as-nails. Life's not easy for a dwarf, even one as pretty as you. It's especially not easy for one that wants to join the corps. So, all your life you've had to be twice as smart, twice as fast, twice as strong and twice as savage as your 'comrades', just to get where you are now. And by jove, you aren't in the mood to stop any time soon.
Off-duty wears casual suits & suspenders, hats outdoors- finds a certain charm in old fashion.
Proportional, with a very fit & muscled physique. Ruggedly handsome, clean shaven & slicked back hair.

The intermittent drip of falling rain grows to a subdued patter as you start off on your beat, and your visor works to keep the condensation from obscuring your vision. The walks grow less and less packed as the work crowd files off to their jobs making cans and pressing car doors in the manufactories, and you soon find yourself alone on the dark urban byways. The streets are mostly quiet aside from the distant buzz of traffic flashing by hundreds of feet above, and the hum of the occasional bus or hauler floating by. Most of the time the only sound you hear is that of your boots thumping against the pavement.

About twenty minutes into your beat you notice movement coming from a nearby alley, the rain still coming down, now harder than ever. You boost the yield on your sound filters and hear what sounds like a struggle. You drop the filters back down to normal levels and round the corner. You see a pair of men, one curled up on the ground and the other raining blows down on him. He pauses as he senses your approach and looks up, freezing instantly as his eyes fall on the familiar dark blue on jet black uniform of your police slipsuit. You stare at him and he stares back, his fist still raised to strike the unmoving man once again.
