Congreve rockets were invented in 1804. While they were inaccurate and generally ineffective, we could do much better with modern manufacturing techniques. However, it would be nice to have a rocket scientist to help with the rocket science. Any chance we can hire Robert Goddard?

So, what is our plan?

I propose:

a) Design 14.5mm*114mm rounds
b) Sniper\anti-tank rifle based on it. I think we should avoid real world mistake that anti-tank rifles had and make a proper optic sight for it. Idea that it is not a mass-produced produced cheap weapon, but instead expensive, good, long range rifle meant to be used by trained snipers.
c) Heavy machinegun based on that round with nice muzzle velocity
d) And I repeat, if we have rivers to defend, design and build light boats for them, It's damn hard to cross a river when enemy has a river fleet here. We have docks and need to use it

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

a) I would go for 16mm, as it fits with our practice of doubling diameters and wasn't invented 20 years in the future... As for the length, it would be a high velocity round, but I would leave the specifics up to research, maybe start with 140mm and work our way down...
b) This sounds good, but the ammunition should be the priority.
c) I can see the allure of a high-penetration H.M.G. round but a machine gun capable of using the round would require a lot of refinement. Given that we already have a good machine gun, I would suggest that this project, while valid, can wait.
d) I support this

We just created an infantry fighting vehicle at least 30 years before the first mass-produced one IRL. What is the issue with a 14.5mm rifle round?

And my next proposed idea will be an assault rifle, preferably before WWII, and we're already designing a semi-automatic rifle when bolt-actions were rather common during WWII. And yes, 14.5mm would work for 20s tank armor levels, but we will need to upgrade probably by the 30s.

ummm, what do you mean IFV? The badger is a tank, aka an AFV. There is a real difference

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

+1. there was some talk for making an IFV/APC, but the design we submitted was for a tank.

(( Yeah the idea was now to modify the AFV into and IFV, mobile bunker/rapid response vehicle. ))

Might we want to... PRODUCE some of these things? For example, this idea: Retrofitting the sights on Mosin-Nagants to modern sights to enable greater accuracy.

I still say we could make use of a 94mm cannon. Capable of AT, AA and light artillery/field gun roles.
