I think in one of the books they only used four, with the fourth being Maid, and "to protect women", which I don't think was omitted accidentally. I'm pretty sure there's no actual official version of the vow either way.

Ser Pounce and all his feline kin are an exception, naturally (along with any dog knights). They exemplify the virtues of the Seven in everything they do.

I really hope they won't keep beating us (viewers) with the "Tyrion is a very intelligent man" stick. I mean, we 've watched the previous seasons and know what he is capable of doing. Having three fairly long scenes about "oh how smart tyrion is" in just this episode is just bad.

On the other hand, I really liked how they portrayed Jaime at his "trial". Using only "we were at war" as a justification for (some of) his action and then staying mostly silent was a good way to show how much he has changed. Old Jaime would have probably just spouted* something in his arrogance about the Mad King or Ned.

Huh, that was anticlimactic.

Terrific as far as the whole rest of it went, though. This blew pretty much every other big battle scene out of the water. Atmospheric, thematic, everything matched up. It really conveyed the dread and grimness of fighting an endless army of the dead.

Does anyone else it felt a little bit like "well, this ones story is done. This ones story is done. Can't think of what to do next with this guy, he was supposed to be already dead"?

I mean, the most long-term impactful death to the next stretch of plot is probably Lyanna since she has like 20 CHA and apparently can convince anybody to back Jon. None of the big players in the upcoming Game of Thrones died, except maybe Theon but Yara is already better situated for representing the Ironborn there.

Does seem a bit odd that none of the actual main characters died, just a whole lot of secondaries. I expected at least one major character to die. Feels a bit...non GOT for all of them to live.

They at least killed off Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Dr. Strange with the snap. I think if you get your own movie you're A-list.

I mean GOT hasn't felt 'GOT' for me since the end of Season 4, so I'm a bit biased. Arya surviving a knife to the gut she got after inexplicably becoming a moron, Jon Snow being naught but slightly miffed after he died despite earlier episodes making it clear you lose some fundamental part of yourself when resurrected, that kind of thing.

I think it's that they're still '2nd wave' characters. They weren't members of the core "old guard" from the start of the MCU, so to speak. Their films felt more like 'side stories' in the MCU, whilst Captain America, Iron Man et al were the founding stories for the MCU. So to me they always felt like a tier 'below' Iron Man et al at a result. It's a bit apples to oranges, but I guess if Jon Snow was on the same tier as Tony Stark, Theon would be on the same tier as Spider-Man.

Hoo boy.. That was exhausting to watch.
So much happened, some characters even got their moments of badassery.
