Yeah, it's hard to give all the characters their due in the TV show. IIRC, there is something like 1000 named characters in the novels.

Anyone else notice that Fat Walda and Sam talk very similarly?
Yes. They both talk like people with inferiority complexes.

I didn't notice Viserys talking like that.

He did talk like someone with an inferiority complex.

I think the difference there is awareness.  Sam was beaten by his father.  I imagine Fat Walda never imagined she would get married, and is so pleased and surprised that her life took such a turn.  I also imagine life at Casa Frey is no bed of roses.  Not having read the books, my heart goes out to Walda, and I hope she is shielded from the pychotic Boltons.

Viserys also had an inferiority complex layered with entitlement issues that I cannot even begin to comprehend.  Having been taught at a young age that he deserved to be King, his inferiority complex bred anger, lashing out, and generally shitty behaviour.  His inferiority complex is there, but was hidden by his entitlement.

It's more shock; A Feast For Crows is where the exasperation and 'c'mon Martin get to the interesting bits already holy shit this book is so long and tedious' thing starts.

Yep, shock indeed. Mostly at how different a favourite character of mine from the show acts in the books. :P
