True, but for the sake of the story and to preserve freedom, I'll go with the lovecraftian horror with the ability to channel the Warp approach.

Okay. SO. What is it people want to do? We have 6 miners including the foreman trying to escape the mine to warn people and the rest trying to form a defensive position and wait for the priest and militia to arrive.

"Escape" the mine, subtly killing them along the way so none make it out.

We could control one of their bodies and use them as a host, but this would result in telltale signs that something was at work. Our host's skin would go gray, his teeth would sharpen, and his eyes would glow with blue fire. We may also grow vestigial horns and claws, and would probably have an issue preventing levitation. With our current lack of experience, we would probably burn out the host's mind and body quickly as well.

There would also be a touch of evil and dread felt by those nearby.

Most, if not all of these effects are unavoidable due to our nature.

However, there is an alternative. Because we have considerable psychic powers, we could focus and observe the minds around us more closely, even in the village itself.

Also, food will soon become an issue, and we will need to either find more or find another way to sustain our power.

Also, what is our power level relative strength?
Are we a Warp entity or perhaps just an avatar of Nyarlathotep or something?

Take the form of a shadow and follow them while eating one or two if our hunger demands it.

We are a yet unknown type of Warp entity and powerful enough to take on ordinary men with ease, but blessed weapons, the Imperial Aquila, priests, some prayers, litanies, chapels, powerful human psykers, etc. will cause issues.

Trained soldiers would present a challenge, but not an overwhelming one unless in significant numbers.

Significant acts of destruction utilizing our powers (like destroying entire buildings) would drain our power greatly.

In using our stealth powers, we will still be noticeable to a trained eye as an un-thing, causing distortions in the fabric of reality. As our power grows, so will these distortions. They can cause such things as palpable drops in temperature, senses of fear and loathing in a larger area, spontaneous bleeding, and bizarre effects on the surroundings such as precipitation stopping in midair. Another telltale sign of Warp energy is the formation of ice crystals on nearby surfaces.

These effects by themselves are not unique to us and occur whenever significant psychic powers are at work.

Okay, current options are:

(1) Sneak out of the mine, wait until the militia and priest leave for the mine, and assert our authority in the town

(2) Remain in the mine and kill things

(3) Ensure no one escapes the mine and go on from there
