(Blegh, that event actually hurts me alot. Shoulda replaced one of those social infs with econ.
Also, how much clout do the NPC nations have? Do they just have the full 6 clout their infrastructure give them?)
The Duke paced around his central office pondering a dilemma. With the destruction of Verona the coffers are now losing gold but the people are asking for an expanded military to beat back the raiders. Coming to a decision, he sits down and starts writing some letters.
Spend 2 PC to make 2 Econ Infrastructures. Expand the Military by 2 Might.
Edit: I'm under the impression it's 1 per infrastructure. If I'm wrong them I'm in a pretty bad spot.

Wait, how much PC do you need to build Infrastructures? 1? 1 per Wealth?

One per Wealth, yes.  Infrastructure building requires a lot of political capital, I'm afeared.  So for Emral (Duchy of Phantoni, a Technocracy) to build 1 Infrastructure will take 4 PC, or most of what they have this turn.  The technocrats' demand basically prevents you from building Inf this turn unless you can find another source of Might.  Non-technocrats have to spend 6 Wealth/PC, and the Ferdicis can build Social Inf at a cost of 2.

Also it costs no PC to trade Wealth, Might or Infrastructure.  I know, you'd expect it would, but I'm going to give you that one free.  It might piss off power bases if you just surrender stuff with no expected gain, mind.

You may now be seeing why threats are preferable over actions when you guys are negotiating.  Unless you're an autarch (there are no autarchs at present) you can find yourself burning through PC at an alarming rate.  Autarchy is turning out to be a much more powerful social choice than I realised, which is good.  I was worried it'd be weak.

I roll a d6 each turn for major/minor crises/opportunities.  Everyone gets a chance of them (with a 1/3 chance of nothing happening).

Turns end when conflicts are resolved or there are no more actions possible; I'll ask people if they have any more actions they want to take before I end a turn.

Results of current actions in next post...

Can you get PC from allies? I didn't realize how limitating it was for Tier 3 Government. Oh well.

Anyway, Ghaz. I'm not joining against the Wall. I've got precious little PC, and I need it. Plus, loosing too much Might would open me to an opportunist attack (much like the situation you're experiencing now). However, while helping you cost me a lot, ruining your plan is free. I just have to pull my ally's support. So if you want to get ahead, I want one wealth. Otherwise, I suggest you pull out of Sitra, and I'll offer you two wealths for that. You can just attack another turn.

I'll ask my allies whether they would be ready to lend me their troops to help Sirta. They shall be paid in wealth.
Accpect Sitra's offer
Move 2 Might into Sitra and fight off the invaders.
Tell Hark to move some of their Might in too.

Spend 2 PC to make 2 Econ Infrastructures. Expand the Military by 2 Might.
ACTION: Take the offer of the Pankhaganate, the Jonasburgs and add the Military Might of my Vassal to it. All will intercede if anybody tries to stop me from razing.
Confirm with my allies that they would be willing to move in with my soldiers. (That doesn't count as my whole turn, right?)
Direct allies to use influence to foment revolt in the Jarl's lands.

Emral's action is ignored because of a rule clarification.  He can always repost it.

Quote from: Diplomacy
The Free City of Higgs adds 1 Might to the battlespace out of fear of their new masters.  They are unwilling to send more without some offer of recompense.  The Jonasburgs and Yon'daer keep their Might on standby and will add it as needed.

In response to the request by the Ferdicis Family, The Jonasburg Barony offers to retract their offer of assistance to the Jarl in exchange for 3 Wealth, though they make no promises not to raid elsewhere.

The County of Mercassia offers to send 1 Might into the conflict in exchange for 3 Wealth.

The Strongholds of Hark will move in up to 2 Might, at a cost of 2 Wealth per Might, since they are uncertain whether it is worth accepting Sitra as a member of the alliance and thus don't feel obligated to defend them.

The Republic of Mecklen wants little to do with this conflict, but will give the Bentanii a mercenary force of 2 Might in exchange for 5 Wealth, to do with as they wish.  Alternately they will assist the missionaries among the Jarls with 1 Influence in exchange for 2 Wealth.

The Molnynar Tribe offer the Bentanii the same rate as Hark, up to 2 Might at a cost of 2 Wealth per Might, and they will intervene as much as they need to.

Quote from: Events
The conflict in Sitra heats up, as two battallions of pikemen from the Iron Wall descend upon Sitra to drive out the carls.  The sea raiders are driven temporarily out of the city but within a couple of weeks the longships return, backed by savage riders and the formerly meek macemen of the Free City of Higgs.  The two sides clash again and at the end of the bloody conflict the Wallmen are pushed back to the mountain while the carls of Finster continue to besiege the walls of Sitra.

Finster moves 1 Might into the battlespace to help with the sacking.
Higgs moves 1 Might into the battlespace to assist Finster.
The Wall brings 2 Might into the battlespace, countering the forces of the Jarl.
Yon'daer adds 1 Might to the conflict, giving the Jarl enough of an advantage to win out without damaging his own forces.

The ensuing conflict results in 2 Might left in the battlespace, answering to Finster.

The conflict is not yet resolved.

Finster recruits another 2 Might at the cost of 1.2 Wealth.  The carls at home help suppress the restless thralls, bringing Unrest back down to 3.

No, but you can convince allies to take actions for you, since trade costs nothing.  Plus, opportunities tend to give you shots at getting bonus PC.

As a Tier 3 govt, your best bet is to please your primary power base as much as possible.  Relations with the power bases work like this for rulers:

Hostile: 0% of PC/turn
Upset: 10% of PC/Turn

Displeased: 20% of PC/Turn
Neutral: 25% of PC/Turn  - Power Bases start here!
Pleased: 40% of PC/Turn
Friendly: 60% of PC/turn
Loyal: 80% of PC/Turn
Fanatic: 100% of PC/Turn

A federal government in absolute harmony with a strong primary power base has hella PC, but no government has as much absolute freedom of action as an autarchy.

So you did.  Editing that in!

Edit:  And for those who miss that edit, the 2 Might at home bring the Unrest in Finster down to 3.  It will take 4 more Unrest to strike a revolt.
