Well, we do have some nice perks. For example, it's very convenient that we have a knockback ability on a 2 second cooldown . If I ever need to position an opponent who's aggroed on another player, I can do that. And the buddha fist is nice too For example, if you can get three Emei together with that skill maxed, it's theoretically possible for them to provide 90% damage mitigation for the entire party, and to maintain that damage mitigation forever.

Things like that are nice perks. But if you just want to do a lot of damage, we seem to be mediocre. If you want to be tanky, we can do that but we have to give up all our damage to do it, and even so Wudang apparently do it better than we do. We have pretty good AoE, but our AoE abilities are not spammable, they take a minimum of 40 seconds to build up our damage to the "pretty good" point, and again...others just do it better.

I feel like Emei are a class you always want somebody else in your party to be. For example, just me doing my basic damage rotation provides a regular AoE stun that as an indirect consequence basically means that anyone standing near me will take 12.5% less damage over time. Sure, that's a really nice perk and I'm sure anyone would be happy to have it.

But if you want to feel awesome and powerful...I'm not sure Emei is the best way to do it. We seem to be a support class

From what I hear from Emei, they kind of do a little of everything, but do the best in a party. And, oddly for a female-only thing, they're actually one of the most straight-forward damage dealers (again from what I hear). They don't have fancy combos or anything, it's all pretty straight forward damage dealing, which kind of a perk I think.

Yeah, I think they do most of their damage through one hit, which is nice sometimes, not having to commit to a big long string of skill activations.

Also, blacksmithing research done, I think the amount of slots for damage boosts and such comes from blacksmithing skill, because each recipe you get is basiclaly a "roll" for a weapon. So "Martial Sword Recipe" can output a ton of potential outputs, which are determined by your blacksmithing skill I think, and as a result the number of slots may be effected by skill too, so to get something awesome like that sword linked earlier will take ab it, but eventually we'll get there. The positive side of this is that even the worst gear a blacksmith makes will outpace the random tutorial weapons, so that'll be good to start out with, and it'll only get better over time.

EDIT: Incidentally I'll probably be making the guild with the name DrunkenFist as in hindsight it's fairly obvious. If that's taken I'll give CaveDragon a shot, and if that isn't the case I'll run down USEC's list of names.

Yes and no. The majority of my damage when using twin daggers comes from Parting Sorrow stacks. It takes 20 attacks on a 2 second cooldown to build it up to max. That's a minimum of 40 seconds to get there. But once it's there, then yes...I can run around and do anything I want, and at the push of a button do 300-350ish AoE damage.

Thing is, if I haven't built up that buff, my basic attack only does about 60 damage. But it takes almost a minute to build up to my full damage potential. Fights don't usually last that long.

That said, yes..the basic double stings rotation is pretty simple. If it's a fast single target fight, I press 23-23-23 until it's dead. If I'm in an instance, or fighting lots of things one after another, I press 2425-2425-2425 over and over. If I'm fighting an instance boss, and if I'm not taking damage, it's the same 2425-2425, plus every 30 seconds I can press 6 for about an extra 20% damage. Whereas if I'm fighting an instance boss, and I am taking damage, then it's the same 2425-2425 except I press 7 whenever my rage builds up for some extra damage mitigation. And if I'm farming boars for hunting skillgains, then I just walk into the middle of the group and press 4 and they all die.

There isn't a lot of watching rage, or monitoring energy or anything, and I don't have to react much to what's going on. I can just follow the recipe.

blacksmithing research done

That sounds pretty good. I've been using the same npc-bought weapons for almost a week. If you can make twin stings or a dagger with anything better than 7-10 damage that only require basic gathering materials, let me know what to send your way.

Related: if anyone can make me steamed buns and/or the medium or large sized craftsmen-made materials boxes, I'd be happy to fund your skill training by sending you materials.

I'll be sure to get on that! I'll need a craftsman around to do some of these things though. So if anyone with a life skill slot is listening, uuuhhhh, contribute to the smithing industry. :P

EDIT: as a side note, I'll take care of the materials unless they need like, career specific stuff.

A question. If I change my life skills, do I lose all the recipes I gained? Will I keep those recipes If I change back?

I'm not sure about the recipes, probably best to assume they'll poof. You'll also lose all your life skills and experience.

EDIT: Also I'm starting the guild here in a few minutes, everyone get to your guild joining guy and be ready to hop in!

You're just in time, the guild, name "DrunkenFist" is up, everyone that wants to apply go do it! We need 3 people within 3 days. Shouldn't be hard at all.

Also I'll get you added.

We've got a couple of herbalists, and making unbound exp cultivation pills is a very expensive prospect I'm afraid.  :P

It's a good skill to support yourself though.

Yeah I think the first three people that apply just get in, as you're in the guild roster and there are no applications. It might take a little while for it to actually click though.

EDIT: People can't seem to actually chat in guild chat yet, I'm thinking maybe because we need to get the minimum in before it actually works.

EDIT2: Need one more person!

EDIT3: We're gold!

Cecil here.

I'm not sure what server I'm on but I'm a craftsman(3rd or 4th skill level, I forget which).  Have ~30 hard stone wooden handles, as well as dark flower ones.  I can also make Haishu hasps if you need em.

I know that my character isn't on the first server that the beta was on.  It's in one of the ones that started up after that.(I think it's either black or white.  Not sure.)

Having fun in PVP as a scholar.  We're rather vicious.  Aerial autohome attack that prevents the enemy from using aerial attacks and allows one of your other moves to juggle and another to do significantly more damage.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

We're in blue dragon I'm afraid, but good to know we've got someone around that knows the ropes. :P

Also yeah, scholors have the best most broken AoE attack in the game, and leisure kick does rediculous burst damage. That rage will mess people up.

EDIT: Guild chat now works!

I'm an herbalist. Problem is that the conversion rate is 4 to 1 to upgrade cultivation medicine, and you have to pay 560 UNBOUND wen per conversion in order to make the result not bound so I can send it back to you

Spoiler: lots of math (click to show/hide)

Related, if anyone wants unbound liang, do spy missions and I'll buy your jackdaw at 5 liang per 100. Or if you prefer to sell me the surplus and receive grade 2 medicine instead....let me double check the math, but I think it would work out to roughly...send me 100 jackdaw and I'll send you back 6 grade 2 yellow pills.
