So, I left and made my own guild.

I figured since the drunk, bearded midget demographic didn't win over many applicants, I'd try for the happy, cuddly pony of pvp death demographic. Those staying on Blue Dragon are welcome to join.

No promises this will go anywhere, but hopefully some people will see the name, lol, and join.

EDIT:
Have one already from school chat. Need a few more to formalize the guild, then we can go forth to conquer china with our warm, happy pony goodness of feathery doom.

Also, bananas.

Edit again:
Age of wushu forum thread

Edit yet again:
Now have three members. It is so much easier to recruit for ponies than it was for drunkenfist.

Would you like to get admin rights on the guild forum and renovate it to your new guild, or are you going to take care of that yourself? :P

If drunkenfist isn't going to continue, then yes, please. Tnx already left and is waiting on the 24 hour cooldown. Who else is coming over? I realize we're kind of playing musical chairs with guilds here, but this is the last one for me. If I can't make this work, I'll just join Magnum Opus or Wulinshu or some other established guild I have contacts in.

Related, spoke to a GM of a guild with 70+ members today, and he says that the game rapidly gets to the point where raiding mechanics are in play. He described situations where having 12 or more people able to coordinate becomes mandatory in order to progress. In WoW, there was always a distinction between people capable of doing 5 man dungeons and people capable of full-sized raids. The things I mentioned a couple pages ago about positioning and knockback? Apparently that hits really hard here, and is not very far off.

Related, shily was talking to me about how she can't find a group for GCC that's capable of beating it, because even the first boss has a combo in which the first part is an AoE insta-death to anyone within a certain range, followed by a second ability that does greater damage the further away you are. So everyone, on seeing the ability charging has to move to just outside the range of the first attack while staying as close to it as possible. Somebody doesn't move in time, or stands in the wrong place, they die. A couple people stand in the wrong place because they're following each other rather than knowing where to go, and suddenly everybody else fails because the raid lacks the damage output to beat the timer.

Okay, you're in now. Let me know if you need to know how to do anything.

Apparently the guild was auto-disbanded for not meeting the membership requirements within some time limit that I never saw anywhere where it said there was one. So, guild is gone and the 300L I paid is forfeit.

I find this discouraging.

I think you need at least 4-5 within a few days to keep it, yep. You need to get them lined up beforehand basically.

Tnx

I found a website that's giving out Age of Wulin closed beta keys here. As of now, they have 1080 keys left. It's a bit odd, since it said that there were 1053 keys left after I took one, but whatever. I seem to be having some trouble with downloading the installer, though. From what I can tell on their forums, the gPotato staff are so much better than the ones at SnailUSA, all like 2 of them. There's actually ways that have been implemented to stop the gold spammers. They're handling issues and bugs much better, too. No idea about the translation, but considering the other improvements, it's probably better than Wushu's. Not that it was that bad in Age of Wushu, anyway.

edit: Never mind. The download works now.

There's also a pretty comprehensive guide for Age of Wulin that you can access here,

Bump for the new expansion.

Best part: you can now pay unbound to skip third internal quests.  TON of new content too.

on blue dragon, feel free to friend list me

edit: more key guides.  A lot of money comes from script stealing, although prices are at historic lows, which is great for buying scripts:

Script Stealing

Meridians

Exploring Jianghu (New Factions/Martial Instance system)

The expansion also introduced a second crafting slot (pay 200L to learn a new profession), treasure hunting by challenging NPCs, free teleport to martial instances in the Exploring Jinghau menu, and a MOBA style Invasion mode where you back up an army of NPCs to conquer the Mongolians/Ming.
