Hmm. Always kind of tricky with new players. I've had a number of good players start out in my games. On the other hand, new players often have a lot of difficulty and this isn't a standard Mafia game so it's going to be harder than normal to just sort of jump in.

I guess the main question, SilverDragon, is what is your mafia experience overall? If you haven't played at all, I'd definitely recommend doing a BM first to learn how the game is played and especially how we do things around here.

Two things.

a. 1/16: who cares?

b. In a subforum this small, we should really be cultivating new members, and that doesn't always mean pushing them BM-wards.  If he gets speedy quick-lynched, he might want to replace into the BM, but either way, a D1 lynch is certainly an education.

What I'm saying is that faith and trust are virtues.

You've got this backwards. Firstly, if he gets quicklynched on D1, do you really think he'll care to join a BM instead of just ragequitting? If so, he'll be the first. In my two-anna-half years here I don't recall a single person to go to a BM after playing a real game. Secondly, just because he's 1/16 doesn't mean anything. Whichever team he happens to be on will be at a disadvantage after he gets lynched. What would be the point of that? A wasted day, sure, and not much else.
