I can strike flyers without any special rolls - I don't think a tree is gonna be a problem.

[Hiding isn't that effective because TCM already stated that since everyone is kind of dashing through the trees already, they don't quite offer a lot of protection from sight due to lots of people being in lots of places. Also, its a televised arena fight, chances are they have cameras trained on everyone with big screens showing interesting stuff going on.]

Well, until the GM says that hiding does nothing I don't buy it, and since I've already been hiding I have a very good reason to be annoyed if he doesn't inform me of this until I get attacked by someone who didn't even try to find me.

For the past few turns you've been focusing on healing, not hiding.

Hide somewhere and treat my wounds.
Stay hidden. Perhaps try to find a better hiding spot.

See if I can find a plant to act as an antidote to this poison.

False, unless "and" means "unless the GM wants me to" and "stay hidden" means "don't worry about hiding".

Well, you stayed hidden and no one found you. Also, she's not a stealth character, so she wouldn't be able to devise a way to remain hidden in a space as condensed as the arena.

1. And no one found me. So why would they be able to attack me?

2. It's a forest. Staying hidden is as easy as staying behind a tree, bush, or whatever.

3. I have not gotten the idea that the arena is "small"...

As per size, it's not 'small' small, but it's nowhere near as big as a real forest. Also, both the actions you listed revolved around healing yourself. Hiding and healing would be a doubler, which would go against the canon of the original arena RTD rules.

Game II- Round 6: Got Some Balls on Him After All

Fancy McMonocle draws his blade firmly. "The ancient beasts of yore. I will employ in the duty of the ancient knights and rid us of this beast. To arms!" Fancy runs for the nearest trip and leaps. (5) He grips a low, thick branch and hoists himself above, peering down at La Bestia Temida, unaware of him. The monster growls as it slowly crawls towards the combatants. The monocle golem grips his sword's handle, holding it reverse-grip, and jumps off the tree. (2+1 vs. 3+1) "Hyah!" He points the blade towards the beast, and nearly gets him, but it reacts faster than he expected and whips him away with one of it's great arms. Fancy is sent sprawling across the ground. Just as the golem recovers, the monster is on top of him. (6+1 vs. 5) It stabs one of it's claws forward deep into Fancy's mustache mass, and then closes the claws like a fist and tears back. A large tuft of mustache is thrown away, scattering into the wind. (-7 HP)

Hoyt Foreman sees La Bestia Temida tear the mustache man to shreds. "OI! BIT' BIN' A WHILE SINCE I FOGHT' ME A BARE! SMASHIN' DIS' ONE IN DA' FASE'!" Hoyt lifts up his sledgehammer and charges the monster recklessly with a viking-like passion. As he gets nearer to the beast, which is still ripping Fancy McMonocle apart, he jumps and swings his hammer down. (1 vs. 3+1) His hammer falls right behind the beast, slamming into the ground and get stuck. "Ah fok'." As Hoyt tries freeing his weapon, the beast turns around and lunges at him. (4+1 vs. 4) Hoyt gets his hammer back just in time to have a claw smash into his face and throw him to the ground. (-4 HP) "Agh, bluud' in me' ey'!"

Ed Mundy Jr. sneaks away from the brawl to find a nice, solid tree. He hoists himself onto it and shimmies up. (3) After a bit of time, he manages to snag onto a branch and pull himself up onto it. He draws his bow again as he settles into position. "Now, to get that wanka'." He sets his sights down onto the lone female combatant. Loading an arrow in, he fires. (2 vs. 4+1) The arrow whizzes straight past her. "Ah, piss."

Despite this, Stretch does not sense pain and instead pursues its target; Chell Lionmane. Finding her hoisted up behind a tree, the putty golem expands it's body to come face-to-face with her, wielding it's knives. "PUTTY SLASH TIME." (6 vs. 4+1) (1 vs. 3) Chell blocks one of the knives, but the other one gets stuck in her leg. Stretch yanks it back, the wound deep into her thigh. (-4 HP) Chell, with her last strains of energy, senses the golem continuing after her. (5 vs. 4) She plays dead, but as it comes close, she jumps up and kicks it! Balls of putty go everywhere and stretch globulates onto the ground, giving her time to get away. (-4 HP)

John Steinbeck runs to a tree while hollering out, "You guys want to form a truce to kill this thing?" (2) He grips the tree and begins climbing it, only to miss a step and fall to the ground. He curses and loads another bolt into his crossbow.

The second gentleman of the fight runs to assist Fancy McMonocle and Hoyt Foreman in their (currently losing) battle against Bestia Temida. "Begone heathen!" BM makes it to La Bestia's back and strikes down upon it hard with his shield. (5-1 vs. 2+1) He beats the monster away from the wounded warriors, making it stumble. (-3 HP) "Come at ye', knave!"

Chell Lionmane limps away from the fight, finding a nice, comfy tree to stow away in. (5) Gracefully, she manages up without a scratch and finds herself on a branch. Below she can see several people trying to take on La Bestia Temida, and Stretch lost in a temporarily gelatinous blob form. She reaches up and grabs a few leaves from the tree above. (3) She grabs enough to tie up her wounds to heal slightly, but barely anything at that. (+1 HP) Those boxes might contain some medicine or potions, but they are quite risky...

La Bestia Temida lets out a howl and takes Beautiful Man's challenge. It gets on all fours and charges the gentleman, (4+1 vs. 6+1+1) but before it can attack, Beautiful Man knocks it's head away with a surprisingly forceful shield bash. "Even if a man is not a fighter, it doesn't mean he is not a fighter!" (6-1 vs. 4) He grabs the creature's head with one hand and smashes his shield into it's face. It roars and rolls away in pain, blood dripping from it's maw. (-4 HP)The successful attack even has BM himself surprised. "...Woah, I'm a badass."
