Spoiler: New sheet yay! (click to show/hide)

Bump that 5% up to 10% and he's good.

Alrighty. New Oneshot sheet for another round. He's been tweaked a bit. Might survive a little longer next time. (assuming he's approved :P)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The new ability makes him a bit overpowered, as it means he basically switches from an offensive fighter to a defensive one whenever the situation suits him.

Game II- Round 8: Made John Henry Damn Proud

Fancy McMonocle backs up from the current brawl with La Bestia Temida. Channeling his inner will, he compels his body to become more mustachioso! (5) With enough strength, he regrows some of his damaged body! (+3 HP)

Hoyt Foreman grips his hammer again. "Who's the man an' a 'alf, I'm the man an' a 'alf, a 'zerking packin' man an a 'alf! Oh yea! BRIN' IT OIN! THERE'S NOTHIN' OI CAN'T 'IX WIT MAH 'AMMER!" He sprints at La Bestia Temida again, ready to launch a swing of powerful proportions preceding puncturing porous pieces protruding places. (6 vs. 2+1) With a mighty attack he clubs the creature in the mouth, pieces of teeth and jaw bone flying about the ground along with splotches of blood. (-6 HP) La Bestia Temida screeches and backs away, shielding it's injured body from more attack. (Defanged: Lose melee bonus, 1 Turn.)

Ed Mundy Jr. follows Chell Lionmane's path as she starts to move through the trees, jumping along the branches. "Aye' lass, don't bother trying to run away, it just makes thing's a whole lot harder for both of us!" He takes aim at her with his bow, focusing hard on trying to hit the moving target. "Steady, steady..." (6 vs. 1) Chell cautiously balances on a branch, when an arrow hits her straight through the neck. She fumbles and falls down, flopping onto the ground with a *thump*. (8-1+2= -9 HP)Ed pumps his fist, "Gotcha' bugga'!"
Ed Mundy Jr. has slain Chell Lionmane!
He is awarded 10 Points!

Beautiful Man, with his temporary streak of victory far behind him, crawls away from the fighting, bleeding along the ground. Finding a rock set firmly in place, he rests against it, panting heavily. The gentleman looks down to inspect his wounds, removing his shirt. Well, it's not pretty. Pretty at all. Gritting, he sees what he can do. (6) Putting to hands inside of him, he exerts a force to move his ribcage back into place. With a sharp cry of pain, he does it. He still loses blood, (-1 HP) but nothing compared to what he could have potentially lost. He breaths heavily and sharply. (Multiple Internal Punctures: Cured)

With a solid kill on his record, John Steinbeck turns back to the tree. As he jumps upon it's trunk he recites the old proverb, "Third time's a charm." (5) Miraculously, he has no trouble this time getting up and onto a solid branch. He leans back and rests on the tree, he notes the tranquility up here, away from the arena. That is, until he sees a few trees down Chell Lionmane getting shot with an arrow and falling to her death. Getting back to his senses, he loads another bolt into his crossbow.

Hoyt Foreman circles La Bestia Temida, having finally leveled the battle by wounding the beast as he casually twirls the sledgehammer between his hands. "Yeah, dat's rioght'. Rioght' ya' doggah' kittah' thin'." La Bestia Temida looks at him with it's eyes, and stands tall again, roaring. "Oh, ye' wanna' play agin'? Common'. Em' rite' ere' wettin' fo' ya'." The combatant raises his sledgehammer as he is charged once more, prepared to possibly end this fight---(2 vs. 6) (5 vs. 2) La Bestia Temida raises it's claws, and as it does, Hoyt Foreman smashes his hammer right on top of it's head. The force of the attack slams the huge beast down instantly, all it's downward weight hitting the ground with a minor shock-wave that everyone nearby feels. It doesn't move. (-5 HP) Hoyt slowly lifts his hammer, oozing with blood and matter. He takes a brief rest on the handle, and declares to the others: "Em' real sawwy' alla' us gotta' dye' 'ere, cuz' if naght' da' drinks woul' be on meh'."
Hoyt Foreman has slain La Bestia Temida!
He is awarded 30 Points!

Bobo the Monkey climbs a tree and finds John Steinbeck reloading his crossbow. The primate comes forward with a curious expression, crooning. John remains too busy to notice him, until he comes forward and grabs his sniping weapon. "Hey! Fuck off!" (4 vs. 1+1) Bobo gleefully starts running away with the bow in hand, until John grabs him and slams his down on the ground. (-4 HP) The monkey stands up, seemingly unaware of it's pain and injury, and runs back into the forest. John sighs and loads his bolt in yet again.

Wonder why someone who's been trying to lay low and hide at least partially for several turns was found so easily.

Also wonder if my shield's blocking bonus ever came up.

Jumping through trees =/= sneakiness.

Yes it did, such as it did in round 6.

There's also how I was running away, and how the foliage should have provided concealment.

Ah, I didn't notice. Why doesn't the shield provide bonuses more often, anyways?

Those aren't factors. This is an arena game, not D&D.

Shield is fine how it is.

Sorry that I was planning my actions based on what was realistic, then.

It seems a bit weak, since you're sacrificing most of your ability to attack. Heck, most melee weapons could use work to bring them back in line with ranged weapons, unless you shrink the arena back down.

[Pft, I'm feelin' great! Man, I knew the moment I saw that club I was like "man, this is going to be an awesome weapon, I got a great idea." And what do you know! I knew there was a reason I love blunt objects amongst all the weapons. Sharp ones can be happy by themselves, I love me some smashy. You guys can coddle your ranged weapons if you want, if I win this round expect a nice line up of nice blunt/spiked-blunt weapons.]

Also damn, channeling Doom Guy really does get me sixes.]

"Ah, 'ow tha' was a roight goo' kill. Its a cryin' shame we gotta foight 'ach otha to da death, I'd buy 'ou all a round jus' fo this!" Hoyt congratulates himself as he rests on his sledge, staring down with a dumb grin at the great beast fell by his hammer. Damn this was fun! He didn't even care if he won anymore, he'd count this a win no matter the result! With a swing of his hammer, he showboats to the crowd! "WA' DO YAH WANNA SEE! CARNAGE, DAT'S ROIGHT! OI GO' ME AN HEAD FULL O' MAD, AND A HAND FULL O' 'SMASHIN'! IF'IN I LIVE AN' ANY O' THESE OTHA FOIN CHAPS LIVE, FREE DRINKS FOR THEM ALL! ALL FO' A GOO' SHO'!"
