Very well. Can I have your word that you will accept the trade as soon as it's possible?

Mind if I ask a kindly worded question? WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A DISASTER FIRST TURN!!! It's supposed to be every 5 turns! Plus they get like 16 dudes right off the bat. How was I supposed to deal with that?

In the same sense that there is an election every 25. And, to be perfectly honest, I don't think I could have reasonably anticipated something with a (if my offhand maths are correct) 3.8% chance of occurring (that is to say, a rebellion in a province with a city) the very first time it was possible.  :-\

But yeah, for some reason the dice hated you. For what it's worth, it's really fucked up, but I don't want to fudge the rolls because someone came off badly.

Yeah but how am I supposed to guard against that? If it was turn 5 I'd be more lenient on this because I'd have a chance to do something. But I just got insta-killed without a chance to do anything about it. It's incredibly frustrating.

But what about the three players who got new territory? What was the distribution method?

A list randomizer. Each of the four non-Regent players were fed into it, and then the cities and non-city provinces in another pair of lists. The first three players (by the random order) got the spare cities, and each of the four players got one of the four spare provinces.

I will admit that I didn't expect this to happen, and if everyone else is okay with it I will remove the rebellion for the sake of a relatively balanced start. I don't want the RNG to dick anyone over like this, but by the same token I want to be sure nobody is worried about anyone getting special treatment. Is that okay?

My only problem with all this is that it gimps one player horribly [me] and the other slightly [Scapheap]

Right out of the gate we get a -2 territory penalty with me losing -3.

Actually, Scapheap got a FUCKHUGE army in exchange, so he didn't exactly get short-sticked.

Yep. It's a nice boost and a free city, but it's also vulnerable to attack from just about everywhere. And the nature of combat is such that single-army provinces can drain an attacker very badly; over-extension should hopefully be a very real danger with aggressive play.

In other news, I was going to go out, but nature decided to rain all over the everything all night, so I'll be here pounding things out instead.  :P
