I starved @ Round 13, and r-...wait, you're right :S

No. If you try to hash out details or conduct in-game interactions, your opportunity to choose stasis has passed.

And no, coins cannot be converted back to time units. They REPRESENT one time unit but are not, actually, time units. I cannot guarantee that later in the game you won't be able to hire foreign labour or something, though... (let's just say it's unlikely)

What if they would be possible to smelt them and create better trinket later in the game? It would be not stupid if metal jewelry would add happiness if primitive construct from basically anything gives already +1. It might be partially not in spirit of game though.

I'm betting coins aren't metal just yet.
It may be shiny stones or something.
They work exactly like real coins: they are utterly useless for anything but exchange.
Exchange, like food for tech, will become harder and harder, as the needs evolve. There will be more and more things exchangeable, so it'll be more and more unlikely for two people to have things each other wants. Coins are an universal intermediary, that only works if everyone accept to trade useful things for useless shinies.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

No that would be stupid. You can't have something above the maximum. Otherwise it wouldn't be the maximum.

Researching is the action you use to gain access to a piece of knowledge. You can gain access as many times as you want, if you really want, but no to the implied question, it won't actually help you out at all.
