Not really, it is a very common phenomenon for a fairly wide range of crimes.

Well, it seems almost natural. Take the case of Salomon Morel for exemple. A Polish jew and communist, he survived the Holocaust in murky conditions (some claims he was hidden by a Polish Catholic, others that he was a Soviet partisan, or a robber, or even that he spent some time in Auschwitz. What is clear is that most of his family was exterminated.

Immediately after the war, he took over the direction of the Zgoda labour camp, formerly a subcamp of Auschwitz, that was repurposed to intern Germans and Silesians. By all account, he was a vicious bastard, known for the torture and abuse he inflicted on prisoners, over 2000 of whom died.

He then went on to have a long and distinguished career in the Polish security service.

Funnily enough, after the collapse of communism, when the new Polish government started charging communist officials for their crime, he emigrated to Israel. Poland tried to have him extradited, but Israel always refused, because for them he's a victim of Polish antisemitism.

Speaking of crazies, apparently giant iPhones are now too gay for Russia. Go figure.

Sergarr will probably be able to better explain this, but as far as I heard it was simply the fact that the statue broke (it's a wifi hotspot) that led to it's removal, which was for repairs.

If it was for repairs, okay fine, but it was the reason that they gave which makes it a 'crazies' moment.

The statue broke and had to be removed literally the day after Tim Cook came out as gay? Really unlikely: Tim Cook came out on the 30th of October and the dismantling was reportedly on Friday, the 31st of October.

I don't know for sure.

RT insists that the removal was announced the day before Tim Cook came out however. Then again, RT also says that they'll only re-install it if it includes an option to send angry letters to Apple and the US.

Oh lawd, this is great. I mean, aside from the anti-gay violence. That's not.

But I can just imagine Putin coming out at some point, or after he dies it turns out that he was gay.
When did being a closeted homosexual become a mandatory requirement for anti-gay people and politicians? :P

Because people assume that everyone is truly good, and the only reason anyone would do something like this is resentement for the treatment they recieved in the past?

It happens enough that it doesn't seem like coincidence. Maybe there is actually something or maybe it's just because it's those events that are more memorable. Either way, it's easy to see why people would think it.

Speaking of anti-gay laws, David Cameron recently has decided that all government policies in England must pass a "family test"
If anyone doesn't see this at some point being used for blocking gay rights or generally doing Nefarious Conservative Things then I would probably call them a liar.

I'm not really sure how it could be used for anything else.

It seems innocent enough, but yeah, the potential is there.
