Falling damage is 1d6 per ten feet. Not five.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Nope, though Role came close when he triggered a magnetize object trap while in a room covered in caltrops

So yeah, in case my post in the other thread doesn't make it obvious, I attempt to make the pit trap safe to walk over.

Take 10 Disable Device: [10]+10=20

One problem, It seems that the trapdoor simply gave way and fell into the pit instead of remaining attached to the side, so you're gonna need to improvise a little

Aaand that's why you always attempt to disable traps before being a smartass and just breaking it.

*Ahem* Well, tell me if you're gonna continue to try to make the pit more crossable. Meanwhile, the room is now largely cleared of caltrops thanks to the "polarizing"(heh) personality of the resident dwarf, so you can now take 10 and 20 on search checks again. Also, given the force Renark impacted with on the east door, you all are fairly certain the east door at least doesn't have a trap on it(since it would have activated upon having a large dwarf-shaped dent put in it!).

How about this; we use some of this firewood to make a plank bridge.
Does anyone have Carpenter?

I was actually gonna suggest using all those bags of holdings and haversacks to dump 6000 cubic feet of dirt into the pit.

Ok, you can do that, but the entire catacombs is made from stone, so that'll involve going back outside to dig. Just let me know what you guys decide to do

Hmmm, ok its a 6th level spell that is a ray with a range of medium(100ft/10ft per 2 levels) and a duration of 1 round/5 levels that mangetizes an object or person with an extreme magnetic pull(that has a radius of 100ft), attracting metal objects to them(or attracting them to a stationary metal object). The maximum damage that objects hitting the target can do is 5d6, though if the spell causes the person hit by it to move instead it deals falling damage as if that person fell the distance the person moves until they strike the object they were attracted to.(in your case, BOTH happened.)
And yes, it's called Magnetize Object
Where's the spell from?

So yeah, in case my post in the other thread doesn't make it obvious, I attempt to make the pit trap safe to walk over.
The DMG, I think, says that pit traps can't be disabled like that with Disable Device. Doing so just ruins the covering of the hole, in this case the trap door.
I certainly don't remember smashing the trapdoor.

I suggest leaving the pit trap there. We can get over it pretty easily, but not everyone will be able to. Say, people chasing us.

Oh, it's actually a spell I pulled from my ass(at least, I don't remember reading a spell like it from anywhere). I'm actually quite pleased with it, though I may do a bit of adjusting to it here and there;for instance, do you think it fits at 6th level, or should it be higher or lower? Also, let's continue this into offtopic shall we? No need to clutter this thread!

Still waiting on a consensus on what you guys are doing next

Speak for yourself. I have -5 to balance.

Crossing a pit has little to do with balance. Your -1 to Jump is little better, though.

Oh wait. Rope bridge. Yeah.
