I'm all for the depression simulation, if only to make never leaving your super bunker to find new things to read or play(if the game boys get more games) a plausible thing, but facing the fact your PC would fall into a routine where nothing is as exciting as it was before. Maybe keep the colors but make morale get a small constant hot, like optimist, that grows larger every... Week? Getting rid of this could be as simple as reading a new book or playing a game all the way through on the game boy.

After a while, and some implementations of things, perhaps the PC starts getting wanderlust, the log getting a few pre generated musings with one or two random things like...

You wonder what a Pawn Shop would contain... Maybe you can find yourself a new Spy Novel there!

These musings would give a small morale debuff until you fulfill it or not, choosing to wait it out. After a rather long time, perhaps the musings become a daily thing, and while you could, possibly, use paper and a marker or something to write or draw so as to not go stir crazy, keeping yourself sane, being the loner, is an important part of survival.

Hell, id say once npcs are fully implemented, these npcs could delay or even stop this chain of events, as it is a new person and you'll almost always have someone to talk to.

Once NPCs become well seated, Introvert/Extrovert (morale penalty/boost from being alone/talking to NPCs) would be welcome, though whether they're a flaw or a trait is another question.

I also wouldn't mind "random" personalities. Like, in exchange for a few points, the game randomly generates your personality (so like, not things like "heavy sleeper" or "fast healer") and for a few MORE points, it generates an extreme personality (like Paranoid or Schizophrenic or Cannibal or Sociopath)

2211 is broken. Not sure if fixed yet but 2210 is fine.
It's fixed now. While granting the ability for monsters to have multiple specials I made a small goof in the save compatibility code, but now that it's fixed you can get cool things like hunter zombies leaping and biting, and shocker brutes both zapping you and smashing you.

Yeah, there was a humidity and wind chill PR that was merged, and it's still got a few little number tweaks needed. A fix PR should hopefully show up from Shoes soon.
