A lot of car parts would take more than a screwdriver and some patience to remove.
Just, for the record. So there.

No no man I got this I know cars like. So much.

No I don't.

So, I've been messing with the current experimental version. Have Electronics and Ammo crafting been seriously cut down? All I can make for ammo are paper cartridges and for electronics it's just UPS and Extra battery mod.

It's all in books now. I think some magazines like modern rifleman have a billion of the ammo recipes & stuff like that.

Would there be any way to select which recipe we want to learn & then read until we learn that? 'twould be very convenient.

I think you can also learn stuff by disassembling it.

That free, fully working electric car I found?  Eventually I drove it into a parked car at 100 mph and then got mauled to death by wolves.

Fun while it lasted.

I love Military composite armor.  I just reinforced the front of a mostly standard car with it (I did move the engine alternator and battery to the back) saved, backup'd and test ran it into various objects.  It seems cars are a lot more damaging to run into by a significant amount than terrain.

I could smash a car shaped hole in the side of most buildings at 130 mph, and have a hard time finding any parts that took any damage at all, but hitting another car at that speed becomes a horror show.  It is cool to hit another car watch the explosion of metal chunks go flying everywhere then watch the shredded remains fly sideways into a pharmacy though.
It's just like billiards, only with more property damage and the occasional splattered dog.

In general terms, it does make more sense than vice versa.
Residential and commercial walls tend to be mostly air space or fiber filled, for the insulation.
As opposed to the engine compartment of a car, which is a LOT of solid metal, with some air and plastic.
The density of the engine block alone will do a number on anything impacting it, even compared to a solid brick wall.  :P

Um, how do I install headlights? Because when I try to do so, the game asks me the direction I want it to face, then doesn't accept any inputs besides the enter key, and the headlight then appears as one of the parts, but provides no light.

You have to turn on the headlights using the vehicle controls.

Oh, now I see why. I was making a mobile crafting station, so I completely neglected controls, as it was meant to be grabbed.

So things were moving along very smoothly in my most recent game until it crashed for no reason and deleted my save.

That... makes it exceptionally difficult to diagnose and fix. :-\

Anything you have that might help to pin the cause down?

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
