This logic...

It still doesn't preclude them from military outpost security..

I don't get what happened here. why did the turret got 8 turns of attacking while I did nothing ? or is it the burst effect ?
Is there a multiplier on head damage ? Why did the turret kept shooting at my torso while I was technically already dead ?

Where in the lad? The front door or down a few levels?

Down one or two levels I think. Probably just one.

Burst fire attacks as many times as it's burst value allows. Setting a shotgun to burst with [F] lets you shoot three times in one turn.
Doing the same with a mac-10 will let you empty the entire 30-round clip. In one turn.

Normal, around 105-ish I guess. I just had took out another turret a few turns before in close combat and things went fine, nothing like that :( maybe just a very, very unlucky critical to the head ?

The eight attakcs may be the turret's burst then.

Yea, turrets are sort of like computer driven glass cannons. You can one shot them with a decent shotgun or blast them with basic explosives, but if you let them fire on you you're pretty much dead.

Can also be a thing where after getting hit the first time your pain level increases and injuries cause your speed level to drop allowing turret more shots.

Is radioactive badge a one-time use item or like endless wearable geiger counter?

One time use I believe. As it gets irradiated, its color changes until it hits black. Last time I used one at a toxic waste sarcophagus, it went from normal to black in literally one turn. Kinda useless to me then, idk if that was a glitch or just an extreme scenario though.

Upgraded my armor loadout to chitinous armor after raiding an ant nest. Aside from initially not taking the queen seriously and letting her spawn an army, it was surprisingly boring. Once the queen dies, there's really nothing to kill, and she spawned in the first chamber so it was kind of ludicrously easy. Tons of chitin though.

It occurs to me that there are a lot of maps that could use more monsters. Labs could contain more robots. Military bunkers should have military zombies and robots. Sewage treatment plants should either have sewer rats/snakes or some kind of sewage zombies (I know, I know, what a crappy idea). And that's just to name a few.

The Toxic Waste Sarcophagus is the cHaOs plane of Cataclysm yeah, extremely radioactive.

You can always raise the spawn density level of via options.

If you're responding to me, the problem isn't that there aren't enough monsters, it's that there are areas where there aren't any. Think about it, the only reason to go into a waste treatment facility is to get sewage samples for the Slime mutagen (which, btw, sucks. I drank 20 or so and never got the robust genetics mutation). I'm fairly sure that only a few rooms in the science labs spawn enemies. Density isn't the problem, in these cases nothing spawns.
