It's fixed in the current dev version; it was a result of the new improved storage method we use for zombies (since it's like 5x faster, which is important with the new spawn density option) getting out of sync with the actual monsters that existed.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead - A fun zombie survival rougelike that I'm dev-ing for.

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

squee

Edit: Oh goodness. There aren't many finished tiles at all. Do you guys need someone willing to go through and make a bunch? I don't know the first thing about programming for a game, but I can do some basic artsy stuff.

I'm not on the newest expiremental build, buuuut I think there is this rather funny glitch thing

When I'm on a veichle random squirrels, rabbits and assorted things just exploded and coat my bike in blood.

Also. I found out that doing this same thing in an RV in a city is more fun than.. a mininuke

Doesn't really look any better than the tiles version of Whales' Cataclysm

That was an issue with the monster cache getting screwed up I think. Pretty sure that one is fixed with the current experimentals.

I suck at making tiles >.< The requirement was for me to set up the tile support and not make tiles for it. That is to be done by pixel artists far more skilled than myself. Was hoping Deon would have gotten back to me by now, but there are a lot of tiles to be made.

Like I said before, I have the patience to throw something together for completeness' sake, even if it's temporary. I just don't know where to start. I know it's a grid of 16x16 objects, but I'm pretty sure I can't just start drawing rabbits on a random square in the PNG file. I hesitate to just start adding squares, since I don't know if you already have a plan on where certain squares are going to be.

I can do a fe tiles, but they're gonna sucks hard. :p Would suddenly make things look worse than Whale's cataclysm.

Hopefully, now that tilesets supports is in, pixel artists will get extra motivated.

You can actually :D The definitions in the JSON point to tile indexes, and I'd really suggest making a tileset larger than my tinytile.png (just 64 tile positions available). I don't have any particular plans for any of the tile locations so edit away :D Just make sure to attach them properly in the JSON so they actually get used ;D

Progress is progress.  I'm happy with it!

Though.... I don't want to play it until I can tell if that big ? is a rock or a raven or a ravenous zombie.... or one of a few billion other things.

That totally does not change that I'm happy with progress, and glad I got to see it at this stage!

We're going to eventually, maybe even soon, have a way to pick what tileset we want to use, of course?  Including back to the old ASCII stuff?

My boat is floated, and I am glad.

Because I have no idea if I'm right or wrong, but does the tiles version have a way to go back to ASCII?

I think it does, or at least is supposed to, but I can't find the option.

It doesn't currently allow switching tiles on and off. Initially, I was under the impression that the Tile Support build would be supplemental to the SDL Rendered Text build instead of completely replacing it. I'll get a fix for that implemented ASAP though.
