This is my first time running a Community fort, So just speak up if I mess up somehow. If you want a Pony, just ask. All players from both Glitterglen and Dawnpick are welcome, with the same characters if you want.

I am running the Pony Mod Version 1.71 by Nidokoenig on DF 0.31.25.

Here is the Embark Info:

I'd love to be Ponified if possible!

Female earth pony named Twirlycount if I have an option.
The Mason/Mechanic/Engraver, or even doctor; whatever works best to your embark profile.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread.  :]

Right. Any ideas for a name for the fortress?

Holehollow sounds a bit too grim to me, and I think I'l have to cast my vote for EdgeHollow.

With the random generator though, I think pretty much any random name will be silly enough to be good.

Not a big fan of Holehollow myself given that it's the name of a cemetary.

Edit: Checked Random name and got... Latheredmine. Huh.
Edit 2: Anything with Edge in the name is out I'm afraid. Edge does not exist in the language files.
Edit 3: I did just find Rim.
Edit 4: No Hollow, But I found Hole. Rimhole?

Posting to watch this thread. (Might even join if I see an unclaimed pony I like when it gets going, though I'm not a huge fan of the Rainbow pony civilizations.)

As for a fortress name, a few suggestions, Misty(Nouns? Lakes, Mountains, Forests, whatever), The Northern Depths (a shameless reference to Commander Starkey of Glitterglen, but possibly a workable name), (something)Smiles, or just hit random till you find one you like and go with it.

The Northern Depths (a shameless reference to Commander Starkey of Glitterglen, but possibly a workable name),

Maybe, except we're in the southwestern corner of the world.

Edit: Heh. Just noticed Incest can be used as part of a fortress name.  :o

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ya... That's a lot of pages. Anyway... PS: Mitre, I was able to give you not only Mason/Mechanic/Engraver, but you're also the doctor!

IC:

OOC: Kind of expected that. The last age was named after a Titan I killed on the island.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
IC: The wagon jerked to a stop, and Sabriel
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
looked up. He (OOC: Was hoping for Female, But what are you gona do.) was the leader of this expedition. All volunteers, all wanting to follow up on the recent successes of the Axe Lord Esrel Twigcandy the Intricate Top of Breaking(OOC: That would be me.), the only pony to visit the island before this expedition.

They had arrived. Sabriel got off the wagon, glanced at Twirlycount
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
, the Chief Medical Pony, and the others. He shouted just three words as he seized his pick: "STRIKE THE EARTH!!!"

OOC: That's it for tonight I'm afraid. Should be able to get back to this tomorrow. PS: Forgot to say this before, but RP is very welcome.

A pony with magical tusks?

IC:

4 Granite, 126

Sabriel paused for a minute and leaned on his pick. For the past four days, he and Esar had been mining out an early room for storage. It would also serve as a temporary dorm once they got the beds made. Aboveground, Asen and Stidest were busy felling trees, partley for the wood and partley just to clear out some space. Just then then Bobrur stuck his head inside and asked what he and the others should do. Sabriel Thought for a few seconds before speaking. "Gather up some of the wild plants. No such thing as too much food." Bobrur nodded and went back to the surface to relay the instructions even as Sabriel picked his pick back up and got back to work: there was still lots to do.

9 Granite: The Mechanics workshop was ready now, thanks to Twirlycount ,and Sabriel had marked out a location for the Carpentry shop as well. All in all, things were going well.

11 Granite: Things were finally far enough along belowground that Sabriel paused in his digging, drew a few lines in the sand, and declared that that would be the Food and Drink stockpile. Ponies promptly started filling it. She also glanced aboveground and marked out the first farm plot. They would be using the seeds they had with them, and that was that.

15 Granite: Sabriel marked out more stockpiles today, for their spare cloths, cloth, leather, weapons, and ammo. This was also the day that one of the most important structures in the fort was started: The Trade Depot. Sabriel did the initial work himself, hauling over three Mahogany logs and drawing up the plans. While he was on the surface, he noticed some beautiful birds a short ways off. Peacocks if he wasn't mistaken.

17 Granite: The Furniture stockpile was marked out today.

21 Granite: Anan hoed the field today. we can now plant seeds at any time.

25 Granite: Sabriel marked out the last of the stockpiles today, for the finished goods. He also remembered that he had been intending to make Asen the carpenter and told him so.

1 Slate: Sabriel walked into what curentley passed for the fort and placed the last crutch in the stockpiles. After serving as their storage for the trip here- And what a trip! The waterfall was still within earshot despite being on the other side of the Island!- and for most of the first month, the Wagon was finally empty. Ordering it taken apart was a bittersweet moment, declaring the inside of the fort an offical meeting area less so. There was one thing bothering Sabriel however: the Peacocks had wandered off, and now there were Elephant Ponies on the beach. Sabriel knew that even well trained Military ponies with good quality weapons sometimes struggled aginst them. To ease her worrys, she had a wall start being put up around the fort: better safe then sorry. It would have to be wooden for now, but they could always rebuild it out of stone later on. He quickly made sure everyone kkew they were aloud to work with wood: The faster the wall was up, the better.

The fort as of 1 Slate:

The Surface

The Fort proper

OOC: Quick question: How do you zoom out? I seem to have forgotten.

So we have:

Sabriel, Male Tentacle Pony Miner and Expedition Leader with gender issues. (Look up the name if you're wondering what I'm talking about. Could make for an interesting plot point later on.)
Twirlycount, Female Gorlak Pony, the Doctor and Mechanic/Mason/Engraver.
Esar, Female Keshi Pony Miner
Asen, Female Draltha Pony Woodcutter
Stidest, Male Slippy Pony Woodcutter
Bobrur, Male Alicorn Craftspony (Something tells me I got lucky there.)
and Anan, Female Shadowbolt Farmer.

Sabriel and Twirlycount are already taken, but the other five are advalible.

Edit: Opened up the save and got the relationship screens for Sabriel and Twirlycount.

Spoiler: Sabriel (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Twirlycount (click to show/hide)

6 Slate: Well that was fast. The east wall is already as done as it’s going to be, what with trees and a pond in the way.

13 Slate: Wow. Half a month and ¾ of the wall is done. In addition, the Elephant Ponies seem to be ignoring us. Bad News is we need to cut down more trees. Think I’ll dig a bit deeper in the meantime.

Spoiler: The Wall So Far (click to show/hide)

14 Slate: Found Fire Clay today. That should prove useful. Interestingly, Twirlycount seems to be making most of the beds. Don’t know why that would be.

Later: Drat. Seem to have struck an aquifer on the fourth level down. Hope there’s a way around it.
