Sabriel paused for a minute and leaned on his pick. For the past four days, he and Esar had been mining out an early room for storage. It would also serve as a temporary dorm once they got the beds made. Aboveground, Asen and Stidest were busy felling trees, partley for the wood and partley just to clear out some space. Just then then Bobrur stuck his head inside and asked what he and the others should do. Sabriel Thought for a few seconds before speaking. "Gather up some of the wild plants. No such thing as too much food." Bobrur nodded and went back to the surface to relay the instructions even as Sabriel picked his pick back up and got back to work: there was still lots to do.
9 Granite: The Mechanics workshop was ready now, thanks to Twirlycount ,and Sabriel had marked out a location for the Carpentry shop as well. All in all, things were going well.
11 Granite: Things were finally far enough along belowground that Sabriel paused in his digging, drew a few lines in the sand, and declared that that would be the Food and Drink stockpile. Ponies promptly started filling it. She also glanced aboveground and marked out the first farm plot. They would be using the seeds they had with them, and that was that.
15 Granite: Sabriel marked out more stockpiles today, for their spare cloths, cloth, leather, weapons, and ammo. This was also the day that one of the most important structures in the fort was started: The Trade Depot. Sabriel did the initial work himself, hauling over three Mahogany logs and drawing up the plans. While he was on the surface, he noticed some beautiful birds a short ways off. Peacocks if he wasn't mistaken.
17 Granite: The Furniture stockpile was marked out today.
21 Granite: Anan hoed the field today. we can now plant seeds at any time.
25 Granite: Sabriel marked out the last of the stockpiles today, for the finished goods. He also remembered that he had been intending to make Asen the carpenter and told him so.
1 Slate: Sabriel walked into what curentley passed for the fort and placed the last crutch in the stockpiles. After serving as their storage for the trip here- And what a trip! The waterfall was still within earshot despite being on the other side of the Island!- and for most of the first month, the Wagon was finally empty. Ordering it taken apart was a bittersweet moment, declaring the inside of the fort an offical meeting area less so. There was one thing bothering Sabriel however: the Peacocks had wandered off, and now there were Elephant Ponies on the beach. Sabriel knew that even well trained Military ponies with good quality weapons sometimes struggled aginst them. To ease her worrys, she had a wall start being put up around the fort: better safe then sorry. It would have to be wooden for now, but they could always rebuild it out of stone later on. He quickly made sure everyone kkew they were aloud to work with wood: The faster the wall was up, the better.
