Evolved: The First Step
« on: December 27, 2012, 03:55:27 am »

                                                 Evolved: The First Step

You open your eyelids slowly, you can hear the soft gushes of water next to you and you notice that you are submerged in a green fluid. You cannot feel anything, it's as if you've lost every nerve in your body. You look down at your hands, they've become greyish and smooth. You try to cry out for help, but your new mouth cannot pronounce your old words. You float there in your chamber, until someone enters the room and opens your prison.

This is an RtD. 150 years ago, in the before time, you signed up for a project that could end mortality. The project was to put your consciousness, your memories into a new improved body. A body free of human flaw. It was supposed to fast-forward humanity's evolution, instead it created a subspecies. You are part of this subspecies.

 Character Sheet:
Name: This can be your name from the before time or a new name to compliment your new life.
Gender: Technically, the ''Evolved'' have no genders so this is to let them know what gender you were.
Specialty: What you were good at or what you did in the before time. (This can be anything, like baking, to help with skills.)
Biological Improvement: This is the most used attribute. It can be anything not too OP or too useless. It could be amazing regenerative abilities or razor sharp bones and nails etc.
Reason for signing up for the project: Mayhaps it was to cure you of disease or to escape the harsh world back then.

Skills:
Strength: For fighting and breaking down doors.
Agility: For dodging and parkouring over fences.
Intelligence: How fast you learn from doing something or watching someone.
Charisma: How well you talk and make friends.
Sneakiness: How well you hide and how well you disguise yourself.

Rolling: To see if you pass certain challenges, I will use a random dice simulator. Let's say we're rolling for shooting a gun.
1: You drop the gun and pee yourself.
        2: The gun jams up
        3: The bullet misses.
4: The bullet barely hits the target just enough for it to harm them.
5: The bullet hits the target, doing considerable damage.
6: It doesn't hit the enemy's body, instead, it goes directly inside their gun and the gun explodes, tearing off his arm.

Anyway, I'll get around 13 test subjects (players) but if there aren't enough within a day (from when this was made to the next day at this time), I'll just start as long as there is more than one player. i don't know how long this'll last because I have school like 7 days from now and I can't really use the laptop (we'll see), but if I can't GM and you guys want to continue, vote amongst yourselves. You can change the storyline however you like. Also, this is my first RtD, so bear with me if I Gm wrongly. Anyway, have fun and enjoy your new evolved bodies!

(You really shouldn't accept too many players. The game can become a pain to run then.)

     Name: Alexander Lehrer
   Gender: Male
Specialty: Surgeon.
Biological Improvement: Biological manipulation - Alexander can make modifications to the biological processes of any organic being by utilizing a psychic field. This can be used both to heal and to harm, however the range is extremely short - physical contact is required to use this ability.
Reason for signing up for the project: As a medical specialist, Alexander was one of the scientists involved in the project. Knowing the potential of the project, the man volunteered to be a test subject purely out of scientific curiosity and the desire of above human potential.

Name: Allan Markwell

Gender: Male

Height: 6.1

Hair color: Black

Eye color: Blue

Specialty: Outdoor survival

Power: Super healing factor.

Reason for signing up for the project: Would of died from his injuries otherwise.

                                                    Back ground

Born into wealth, Allan had every thing he could ever want growing up in Beverly hills. He went
too the best schools, wore the best clothes, and he drove the best cars. He could of lived his whole
life in up most comfort, and without worry. However, that was not the life he wanted. He hated every
thing about the upper class life style, but mostly he hated how they treated the lower classes like
dirt that needed to be wiped off their ten thousand dollar suits. He wanted to help people, not help
his bank account grow larger. That is why, at the age of 18, he left home and became a missionary
working with the poor in south America. For seven years he worked there, helping out in any way
he could. Weather it was building a house, or just handing out clean water. One day, he was clearing
trees off a road after a hurricane past by, and out of nowhere a speeding truck slammed into him
from behind. He was quickly rushed to the local hospital, but it was ill equipped, and could not treat
his extensive injuries. Luckily for Allan, his father never lost track of him. As soon as his father found
out what happened to him, he sent his men to bring him home. Allan was going to become evolved.

Wow, I didn't expect this post to have a lot of players reply this fast :P. Anyways, if 13 is too much, then how many players should there be? We already have 3 and 1 reserving a spot. Should it be 6 or 7? Nice characters too. I think we might start tommorow.

Alright, I'll just make it for 8 players unless requested. I'll only take the requests up until we start because as the others said, too much players  might be difficult (plus, this is my first RtD so I wouldn't know how to handle a lot.)

Also, I'd like to point out that all Evolved start out looking the same (excluding the external looks of their powers). Later on, they develop forms to benefit their needs and suits most.

Let's say one Evolved has the ability to regenerate would never bear scars while another who constantly travels in caves would have rocky textured and cold skin to blend in( to some extent). If one had a large scar then mayhaps a new appendage would grow if needed. Therefore, a battlescarred Evolved would have many slashing arms or have multiple eys surveying the battlefield. (Note that you are the first not the only Evolved and they might not think the same way as you.

Um, so I guess we'll start with 7 players then.  :P

In the cold laboratory, whizzing sounds started to sound, the fluid inside the Evolved's chambers started to bubble. One by one, the chambers opened, each revealing a being perfect in form.

I'll describe the characters by order of who posted first.

The first chamber, labeled with the name "A. Lehrer", opened and the marvelous creature inside fell on it's knees.

The second, "A. Markwell", opened to reveal a similar being, only slightly taller.
(Did you want to have those features like hair? Or were they just the looks you had before?)

Next, "B. Faso", opened, the creature inside, gasped for breath, revealing teeth sharpened beyond perfection.

The fourth, labeled "Nix", released a creature with eyes sharper than the rest.

The fifth, "H. Hunter", opened, but the creature couldn't be seen, only a humanoid form writhing in the pool of fluid.

The sixth, "L. Becker", opened, and a slightly porous creature fell out, but the fluid was different from the others.

The final one, "S. Fell", released the final of these creatures. Most had stood up, some looked around in their tanks, but one thing  was certain, they were all hungry.

So, tell me what you think about the writing so far, what to improve and such, and what you will do sate your characters hunger and find a way out.

And, by the way, I was meaning for you guys to start looking like one of the Engineers from Prometheus only less muscular and longer figures. Just imagine a combination of the fish guy from Hellboy and the Engineers, but,as I said, you will change shape on many different factors, like stealing DNA from surviving humans, or the DNA from other "creatures".

Is it too late to apply? If not:
 Character Sheet:
     Name: Noctis
   Gender: Male
Specialty: Fencing
Biological Improvement: Teleportation. Noctis can disappear in flames and appear somewhere else instantly within a relatively short distance, but if he "teleports" too many times or suffers great amounts of pain he loses all control over his ability and will start to teleport all over the place at random.
Reason for signing up for the project: Time to do all those things he couldn't in mortal life.
