Wait.  We hate light, but can create fire?

Oh well.

Try and find a cloak, preferably black or dark brown, so that we can use it to assume some semblance of a physical form.

It's Nazgul time.
Yep.

It's a side effect of our digestion. Human digestion or metabolism or something generates heat; so does the Darkness's. Due to inefficiency, we sometimes set stuff on fire. Imagine if eating a hamburger caused your body to secrete cyanide.

And I have no objection to the Nazgul plan.

You briefly consider wearing a cloak, then look back at the smoking ruin of the logging camp. The nearest cloak is probably somewhere in the village some ten miles to the south, and a quick scan of the area confirms no intelligent life is nearby. However, assuming a humanoid form can be done, though in this form you would be much slower.

Power: 4.0
Focus: 4.0

Time: Dusk

Abilities:
Born of Darkness
Fire Affinity

About the fire vs darkness thing:

You were born of darkness, meaning that your basic form is limited to various forms of what might be seen as liquid shadow. However, being a somewhat corporeal being, weaker light does not simply make you vanish, or necessarily harm you. Stronger light, such as from the Sun or a fire will prevent your movement in brightly lit areas, causing great pain and suffering if you choose to do so. Having this fire affinity means that you initially have a very limited control of fire, more limited than your powers of darkness. However, these can be seen as skills and can be trained with experience. You now know, for example, how much energy is necessary to raise a creature from the dead without causing other terrible things to happen as a side effect. (Such as blowing up the victim)

Your admittedly successful screwup with the dog was caused by an output of raw power with no finesse whatsoever. This caused an overload of magical energy to incinerate the animal over a short period of time, violently expanding outwards when there was no more fuel left. If such a thing were to happen too close to you, it would cause... setbacks. To put it lightly.

tl;dr:

You aren't totally limited by light, really bright light is bad, you have better control over darkness and stealth than fire, and shit exploding was caused by you being a noob at life. Causing more things to explode will probably end badly for you.

I think we should learn how to control water/ice to offset any fire mistakes we might make.  Because you know http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilIsBurningHot but also http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilIsDeathlyCold

It could be done, though you'd need to either absorb the mind of a wizard or mage or find the appropriate literature and study it.

Cool.  I say we look in a nearby town to find a wizard.  Either way there would be stuff to eat.

Aww.  No Nazgul.

Anyway, find more lifeforms and eat.  If and when we find something like or larger than a dog, leave that alive for...experimentation.

We could do it.  It just wouldn't be very effective.  I still think it would be fun to do for kicks after we get more powerful.

Nah, eating animals isn't really useful since we saw it drains our focus. Let's visit the town.

Try to change our form.
Try to become a black dog or something. Or a  blackhaired dwarf.
And wouldn't you think poeple will freak out if they see a a darkness creeping around?

No, can't be scared if you're dead.

I think it was reanimating it that drained our focus and only temporarily at that.  Still I agree about visiting the town.
