"Ehh. It tastes... Fairly bad, but not terribly so. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised on that front."
Berant swilled the drink around as he spoke, facing Allion but in fact watching the locals at the same time. "So, are you looking fowards to tomorrow's outing, then? A bit of excitement, hey? Speaking of which, we should probably be getting back to prepare before too long..."

Walk around the pit, listen for anything important about rebels, traitors or rouge psykers. Pay close attention to peoples reactions near me when I'm within 3 meters, if any become very uncomfortable when I'm close then back off and observe them.

Sell Amasec and using part of the funds from the Seer, buy the Poor Flak Greatcoat (Arms, body, legs 4) for 75 Thrones.

Wear new clothes and put on the Greatcoat, subsequently cleaning, selling the Mesh Vest and checking how much it would cost to get the Greatcoat to (Common) quality.

Lemanov walked idly through the Pits, trying to make his purchases without much fuss. Some of his teammates were already gathering information, no doubt, but he knew some people would readily recognize his manners and way of talking as of someone who had the upbringing of an exemplar Imperial citizen. Not risking further contact was his best bet.

As he moves around, checking wares once again curiously, he notices Alba has apparently already finished her shopping. He approaches her with a calm smile, noticing she has an...iron collar on.

"Hello Alba. Made your purchases already, I suppose." he says, managing to stare at her instead of the collar.

Mira compared the quality and structure of the Sabre {Good} to the Sword she owned while at the merchant stalls, asking if there are any Swords the merchant had in storage.

Check if I have any of the following (and their quality if any): Gas Mask, Camouflage, Backpack, Filtration Plug (and its use from the stall), and how a PLCE works.

Buy a Gas Mask, Common Clothing, Common Backpack and a pack for my lasgun.

Sell knives, go to chruch and ask about the cathedral and the phenomena.
You sell all five of your throwing knives for 25 Thrones.

You search the Pits for a church of some sort and eventually locate a crowd. At the center of it is a bearded man, his brown robe marked by hard times and two locals holding a large book open in front of him.

"...Thy Golden Throne, and Thy Death,
By Thy destruction and re-emergence as the god of Men,
Keep and strengthen us, we who fight for thee."

The people of the crowd make the sign of the aquila on their chests and begin to disperse as the preacher takes the book and begins to wrap it in chains. He looks up and sees you.

"Blessings upon you, fellow servant of the Emperor."

You ask him about the cathedral.

"Ah, yes. Stern Hope. I hear that the Abbot has gathered a couple of hundred to his flock. It is truly fortunate that the local clans have not attacked them. Truly a sign of His grace."

You try to hint at the phenomena, not wishing to spread rumours yourself, but it appears the preacher does not know anything about them.

>Discreetly study those Ashleen fellows whilst nursing my drink and chatting to Allion.

The Ashleen don't do anything unusual and soon get up to leave.

Walk around the pit, listen for anything important about rebels, traitors or rogue psykers. Pay close attention to peoples reactions near me when I'm within 3 meters, if any become very uncomfortable when I'm close then back off and observe them.

You walk through the Pits and though people seem to be looking at you strangely and speaking in hushed tones, nobody acts particularly unusual. You hear something that might be relevant.

"...took a herd up to Stern Hope a few weeks back, said he'd never go back. The drove, lost half his hand to bad water and Shale Crows and didn't see a living soul crossing the wastes, not one. There was something else too but he wouldn't say, too frightened or reckoned we'd call him a fool on it. Anyway, he just sold up and headed south to throw in with Seth's lot."

Sell Amasec and using part of the funds from the Seer, buy the Poor Flak Greatcoat (Arms, body, legs 4) for 75 Thrones. Wear new clothes and put on the Greatcoat, subsequently selling the Mesh Vest and checking how much it would cost to get the Greatcoat to (Common) quality.

You manage to sell the flask of amasec to a curious merchant for 55 Thrones and try to sell him your mesh vest. After a short argument where you assure him that it really is stronger than a flack vest despite being much lighter, he finally buys the vest for 150 Thrones. You buy a poor quality flack greatcoat for 75 Thrones and the merchant, still inspecting the vest, tells you that somebody could fix it up for 75 Thrones.

((You do not have any of the equipment))

You buy a gas mask, local clothing, a backpack and a lasgun power pack for 60 Thrones. You examine the sabre, it appears to be slightly easier to wield than your sword and slightly lighter, and ask about any swords the merchant might not be displaying and he checks for you. He brings up what appears to be a cane, a strange short-sword made of crescents.
Quote from: Swords
1 Swordstick Cane (Good) 150
1 Sigilite (Common) 85

You think back to your training to remember what a PLCE is:
Quote
The PLCE is tactical webbing system work across the body, and allowing a comfortable distribution of readily available equipment. It consists of a belt, yoke (shoulder harness) and a number of pouches, pockets, holsters and strapping rings. The PLCE webbing incorporates is a series of other load carrying equipment and strapping. The purpose of PLCE is to hold everything needed in a readily accessible location. While wearing the PLCE, you can make a challenging (+0) Agility test. If successful, you can take a single Ready action in a turn as a free action rather than a half action.

The party notes that the sun is beginning to set.

Walk through the pit listening to more rumors and so on, once I find a guard show note and have him escort me back to where we are staying, have them brief me on the town and any rumors they've heard on the way.

After contemplating it for a minute, Alba shakes her head, deciding on a different course of action.

Upgrade Greatcoat to (Common) for 75 Thrones.

"Well, I don't think we'll be late. Our team must have a minimum of responsability, but if you are worried about that, we can go and search for them together. That way, we can make sure they won't be distracted by the wares and we'll be back in time. What do you say?"

Lemanov smiles at Alba and nods towards the street, inviting her to follow him.

Send a vox-call for the group to reunite and head back. Go around picking them up and dragging them to the refectory.

"Yes... but I would prefer some extra firepower on our side for this. Any thoughts?"

Bernant nodded his head back in the vague direction of those Ashleen folk and spread his hands to Allion.
"Well, friend, if you're that desperate you could always round up a bunch of those fellows. I hear such types are happy to follow whoever offers them a few shiny trinkets, and also on the plus-side we wouldn't have to be too precious with them," He lowered his voice, "Since after all, they are just savages and what-not, eh?"

He shrugged and began to stand, finishing off his drink and dusting off his clothes. "Of course, I shall leave it up to you, good man. Either way we should best be getting back soon to make dusk, hmm?"

>Talk and make ready to head back pending Allion's decision.

Mister Hurk took his time leaving; he straightened his collar, smoothed the front of his strange-yet-dapper-enough outfit, and complimented the barkeep on his fine establishment. Then he turned and strolled towards where Allion was speaking to the Ashleen at a sedate pace, keeping an eye on their reaction just incase his ally needed help.

>If the Ashleen are still inside when Allion reaches them, linger at the bar and watch from there whilst complimenting barkeep.

>If they are outside, make my way slowly to the entrance once Allion has left, glance idly up and down the street and keep an eye on them without following too obviously. Be ready to assist Allion if needs be.

>If they seem to react well, then approach and introduce myself. Use simple words, 'cause they're dumb savages and all.

> Buy the Flak Jacket, sell my Flak Vest, and (if I have the time and funds) upgrade the jacket and collar to Common (in order of priority)

>Equip gear, rendezvous with Lemanov

"Y-yeah... um... we should probably head back, b-before it gets dark..."
You trade your flak vest for a flak jacket and the merchant patches it up for an extra 50 Thrones. You also find someone willing to work the collar, they add padding and round the inner edges, making it much more comfortable to wear. You pull the jacket over your robes, re-clasp the collar around your neck and head back to Lemanov.

Upgrade Greatcoat to (Common) for 75 Thrones.
Send a vox-call for the group to reunite and head back. Go around picking them up and dragging them to the refectory.
As Alba is having her jacket patched, you also have your greatcoat repaired, greatly improving the ease with which you can move in it.

You pull the vox from the backpack and inform the acolytes that they should rendezvous at the bar (evidenced by the large 'Bar' sign standing precariously above a tent) near the road to the Refectory.

Walk through the pit listening to more rumors and so on, once I find a guard show note and have him escort me back to where we are staying, have them brief me on the town and any rumors they've heard on the way.
You don't hear anything else concerning the mission and the crowds begin to thin. You find the refectory guard where you left him, only now he has a bottle of Spitbrew thinly concealed in his pockets. You get the call from Lemanov and begin to make your way to the bar.

Give the man 5 thrones for his help and then walk around the Pits, listen to the peoples troubles and try to find anything important/disturbing.
You hand the preacher 5 Thrones and leave, only to be called on the vox. You make your way to the bar.

>Get up and catch up with the Ashleen.

"Greetings. Would you be interested in work?"
>If the Ashleen are still inside when Allion reaches them, linger at the bar and watch from there whilst complimenting barkeep.

>If they seem to react well, then approach and introduce myself. Use simple words, 'cause they're dumb savages and all.

Allion walks brusquely out and approaches the group of Ashleen.
"Greetings. Would you be interested in work?"

All four of the men turn around and one comes forward.
"What kind of work, off-worlder?"

"My fellows and I were hoping to have some guides on our trip across the wastes. We're on our way to Stern Hope you see."

The men form a huddle and after a short time, the first man speaks again.
"We want 30 Soules each. Then we will take you to the hill."

You notice various party members are on their way.
