First and second actions are being used, rolls are... 24 and 27. High rolls for everyone today, it seems.

For reference, actions are:

Quote
1. Investigate the Kyogre Idol using charm (Charm Mod +5)
2. Investigate the Kyogre Idol using focus (Focus Mod +8)

Tailow, Boy Wonder + Zubatman + Purlionwoman + Doduoface

The four of you plan on making an early morning attempt to capture Maynard, and Sami manages to convince the group to go in costume. After an hour of preparations Zubatman, Tailow; Boy Wonder, Argus the Robot, and Purlionwoman exit the base and march on the TV Station. Because nobody in the party is geeky enough to think of another hero from the Zubatman comics, Lucian ends up joining the hunt as the villain Doduoface.

The Propaganda office is heavily fortified, so the hunting party can do nothing but watch and wait. Luckily a few prostitutes eventually walk by, and Maynard Helm, flanked by a group of guards, exits the fortifications to meet them.

You make your move and charge forward. Maynard spots the comic book heroes coming and panics. Without thinking the Clefairy mutant uses Metronome! Suddenly there is a blinding flash and a plume of smoke!

When the group's vision returns, it becomes clear that Maynard's desperation Metronome had become an explosion attack, and judging by the fact that his guards and the nearby whores have been reduced to bloody mulch, it must have been a critical hit. Somebody swears, and thanks Arceus that Maynard had spotted the group as early as he did. It would not have ended well if you had been any closer when he detonated.

Purlionwoman confirms that Helm is still alive, and stable enough to transport, so Zubatman slings the unconscious Clefairy mutant over his shoulder and the party returns to base.

Back at base a patdown of the captive reveals a few pokemon and other useful Artifacts.

Maynard Helm has been captured!
+2 Hostile Clefable
+1 Hostile Lunatone
+2 Moonstones
+1 Gold Lunatone Charm Necklace
+1 Letter (Unopened)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Final Group Roll = 28

Sami:

After taking off your costume, you head down to the lab and throw your Aaron in the scanner. After a few minutes you get a beautiful 3D image of your Pokemon's armor and innards. Carlos quickly applies it to the Special Armor research.

Progress Towards Special Armor made!
Roll After Mods = 25

With your work in the lab complete, you head to the office, sit down at a computer, and get to work cracking the encrypted thumb-drive. Cracking it takes most of the afternoon and into the evening, but eventually you get into the damn device and take a look at it's contents. Its mostly just a porn collection, but it does contain a very detailed map of the tunnel system under Port Cane that could very well be of use to you.

You can now take +1 on any exploration action where you can justify the use of the tunnels!
Roll After Mods = 22

Doug:

You bring Helm around with a few potions and get to work interrogating him. At first you expect the process to be long and time consuming, as Maynard seems to possess the Magic Guard ability that protects him from most forms of torture. Luckily for you he turns out to be rather wimpy and a few simple threats have him singing like a bird about Lucy's location!

"D-don't kill me. Geeze. We have Lucy held down at the old Swain Plantation deep inside Kings turf. You can't get her there. A group of your size wouldn't have a chance at taking the place, and a larger group wouldn't be able to push through JS and Kings territory unoticed to get there."

The Clefairy mutant smirks smugly at you, before you clear his expression off with a scowl and he continues to talk. "No need for that. I'm talking. He's trying hard to break her, Virgil is, but the girl is tough. He actually was able to capture her step dad, John O'Neil, and intends to use him to help break the girl. John is at the Propaganda Office now, but Virgil will have him transported to the Plantation soon. I honestly don't think John will be much help though. We took him from some NPO lab, where they transmuted him into something pathetic. He spends all day sitting around in his cell, sniveling and moaning."

You decide to ask about the prototype while Helm seems so eager to talk. "That souped up bike Kull game me? I don't have the whole thing. Just the frame. I stashed it in the basement of my old house downtown. You can have it. Just let me go and don't kill me!"

You take a +10 bonus to searching downtown for the Prototype Frame
Roll After Mods = 27

You try to head across the island to visit Seawind Estates, but get turned away by the guards at the JS border. It would seem that Virgils actions against them have caused the foreign faction to double down or border security. A visit to KotS turf by land is not in the cards today...

Roll After Mods = 13

Lucian:

You head out to the barren peninsula in search of everstones. You find the task to be rather difficult, the just seems heavy here, and the sun overbearing. The occasional ground or fire pokemon appears in the distance, but the wilds seem a bit too shy to let you get close. Eventually, after a few hours of fruitless searching, you begin to feel rather ill. Begining to understand why so few beings live in this place, you call your search quits and head back to the base.

Roll After Mods = 9

You spend the later afternoon running through training drills with some of your lower level Pokemon. Alone and without powerful Pokemon to practice with this isn't all that effective.

+31 EXP
(Remember, the levels of the Pokemon involved has a good amount to do with the amount of EXP earned)

Llewyn:

You make a trip down to the Artificer's lab to check out the Kyogre statue. As soon as you touch it, you feel a sudden compulsion to take it outside to the water's edge. Rik shrugs and warns you to be careful as you leave with the artifact.

At the beach you find a Staryu, which floats into your arms and communicates with you telepathically. -Greetings Llewyn. Troubled times draw close. The sea has sent me to look after you for a spell. I am at your disposal to protect and serve your interests, as well as consult or teach you in spiritual matters if you so wish.-

+Lvl 25 Staryu (Details about this special pokemon to be sent by PM)
Roll After Mods = 24

Taking the Staryu and returning to the workshop, you decide to spend some time focusing on it in a state somewhere between prayer and meditation. Your focus deepens, and without much warning you begin to drift off to sleep. You wake up at about 10 at night, circled by papers full of scientific techno-babble that you cannot understand, religious verse, and detailed paintings of cells, proteins, and DNA structures that seem to be in your art style. Carlos, Rik and Faust stand over your shoulder in amazement.

"Amiga, are you awake?"

Dr. Gonzolez asks. You nod in the affirmative. "I don't know what the heck came over you, but you just spent the last seven hours developing a solid Hypothesis and planning an experiment that would grant us a much deeper understanding of how mutants work if it is proven true!"

You nod weakly, feeling rather shaken. You can feel scientific knowledge and insight floating around deep in your subconcious, available to you should you wish to put in the effort. The knowledge is fleeting however, and you feel that in a matter of time it will return to wherever it came.

Water Type Genetic Alteration available for Research!
For the next forum turn only, you may use your Focus mod to make research actions! You may do this more than once, but the mod you replace using must be different each time!

Roll After Mods = 27

Susan:

You remove your Purlionwoman costume, borrow guide, and get to work with Carlos, calibrating the scanner to work on the ghost. The attempt is interrupted when Sami comes in to scan her Aaron and you have to set the scanner back, but she eventually finishes, and the pair of you return to work. Eventually the machine gets a workable reading on the Litwick and Carlos is able to easily apply it towards the completion of the basic afterlife theory and underdog theory.

Progress Toward Underdog Theory made
Roll After Mods = 22

Fetching both your Ghost manipulation tools, and a Duskull from storage, you begin a through Vivisection. During the procedure you are able to carefully measure several organs, at least one of which you suspect to house the intelligence of the Pokemon, and others which you assume hold the life force. You also take careful note of the heavier than normal ectoplasm present in the species, and remind Carlos that it could be of use for the completion of the special armor.

Carlos nods and takes notes as you work before suddenly erupting into a celebratory fit! "¡Mierda! Lo hicimos mi amor! We did it! This pushes our research way beyond the conventional and known sciences! In some ways we have passed London... And just wait until I post the new ways we can continue this research! Susan my dear, la muerte es nuestra perra ahora! DEATH IS OUR FUCKING BITCH!"

Progress Towards Special Armor made!
Basic Afterlife Theroy has been completed!
+Trainer Levels for Everybody!
Spiritual Reincarnation has been made available for research!
The Artificing Credit for Free Research has been spent!
Zombie Pokemon has been made available for research!
Roll After Mods = 14

Base Events:

A Mysterious note is found nailed to the HQ Door. It seems to be a mission proposal from one of Virgil's Luetenients looking to betray him!

The eggs recieved from the water dungeon mission all hatch into Phione!

(Two things. One, I'm keeping that costume. It's getting added to Susan's inventory. Now I just need to find a pic of a red-head cosplaying Catwoman and I might have another joke pog image :3 Two, I vote we kill Maynard. He's kind of an ass, killing him should hopefully keep the Beggar King out of our business - since Helm won't be alive to be rescued -  and Doug got everything we needed out of him.)

((Voting nay for killing him. I wanna make his life MISERABLE first. BNesides, we can send Stormy to inform him and we can charge him about 200-300 Py for utilizing Maynard per translation :P

EDIT: And Weird, we do have the resources to assault the TV station. We DID get the C4 off of Vincent.))

Plantation as in large compound with multiple buildings and many, many, mooks, not the TV station.

Edit: Oh. What I said during the group turn, not Kujis. Well I'm assuming you don't bring C4 on a simple hunt mutant job, and I'm not letting you clear the station on a forum turn when you are planning to do so on a mission.

Well, you did say it was the propaganda center we jumped him at. Also, Doug was the one in the Taillow boy costume, just to clarify.

And honestly, Stormy would probably be geeky enough to play Killer Croconaw :P))

OP updated. If you want to change your votes to the new mission, do so quickly. I intend to write up the mission this afternoon so we can play tonight or tomorrow.

Also note the new bonus on the Pokemon Training Action.

Voting for Night at the Museum this session and Virgil of all People Should Know Better than to Trust a Monster for next session. I want to get the artifacts from the Museum that would be useful for fighting Virgil, then our little friend (IIRC she's the mutant that was in the poison dungeon) can help us take on Virgil and get Lucy back. Even if we don't kill Virgil but do get Lucy back, we can get him next time.

And I'm all for letting Maynard go, he was very cooperative, and I do not want to deal with the Beggar King on our asses.

EDIT: We also need to do some essence extraction on the corpses we have in storage so we can try to get some high quality essence for more research.
