I'm still waiting on the Forum Turn, I heard the rolls were pretty good this time around and would like to see the outcome.

Uggg... Fuck me. I just finished writing up the turn, and was in the process of proofreading it, when my computer decides "Hey Ben! Imaa reset and do a Windows Update now! Kthxbai!"

Luckily I backed up frequently and only lost the last two actions. Unluckily the last two actions were rather long and flavorful, and I still need to write up the mission and grab a few hours of sleep before I go to work. So I ain't doing them in full again.

The good news is both those actions involved meeting new NPCs, so I'll briefly summarize the interaction for each in a sentence or two, and we can take it from there in an RP before the session tonight if we want.

Sami:

You decide to start out the day by dragging John down to the lab so that the scanners can take a more in depth look at how the mutation cure affected him. With a few clicks of the console controls you manage to get a good readout, which you pass along to Carlos, who gives John a quick evaluation.

"Hrmmm... This should be enough to advance that crazy theroy Llewyn came up with yesterday... Very nice Sami... Oh my. It looks like our drunkard friend somehow managed to maintain some of his psychic powers despite being cured. Huh. I reckon his state of heavy inebriation limited the cure's ability to modify his brain to the extent we wa-"

"Who are ya calling drunk? IMMA KICK YOUR FUCKING ARSE YA DICK" John explodes out of the scanner and after Carlos. You decide to make yourself scarce and go Pokemon hunting to avoid the fight. Before you leave you pocket an Ultra and Luxury ball, and deploy Argus to explore the tunnels and hunt down KotS members while you are gone.

You hit the city in search of a fighting Pokemon, and quickly find the search to be rather dificult. The only Pokemon that seem to live above ground and in the city proper are birds and vermin. After hunting with no results for a few hours, you get bored and wander in to the nasty part of Tropical Sands, in hopes of breaking up a crime or capturing a criminal. It is here that fortune strikes.

Fortune, here, takes the form of cramped pen full of several starving and mean looking Pignite. You track down the owner, a reedy looking young woman in her late teens or early twenties. She claims to be a breeder, and offers that the Pignite in the pen are indeed for sale. Deciding that you would rather not pay some punk kid who dosn't know how to properly take care of a Pokemon, you whip out your badge and demand that she give you the pick of the litter or else you will shut her down for abuse.

The civilian complies, and you help yourself to the largest of the fire-hogs, which you scoop up in a Luxury ball. The greatful Pokemon dosn't bother resisting the capture.

+1 Lvl 19 Pignite with the Bonus Move Bulldoze

You return to base and wait for Argus, and comes back with a sackfull of goodies. The robot seems to have found a Kings hideyhole, but because the target area was directly beneath a civilian building, your creation decided to not risk violating the first law of robotics by blowing the place up. Instead Argus chased off the kings, and hauled back as much of their goodies as it could carry.

Doug:

You head downtown, through the tunnels to avoid any checkpoints, and burst into Helm's old house. The place if full of strange notes and oddly shaped books written in Lunar Hyroglyphics, as well as oddly glowing gems and other artifacts. If you here for a heavy bike frame, and it didn't look like Maynard was in the process of moving back in, you might have been tempted to take some of the stuff home with you.

Swallowing your greed, you head to the garage and find the frame right where Helm said it would be; in pieces in a plastic container labeled 'DIY Project 2013'. You hoist the heavy load into your arms and make ready to leave, but stop to check out a rough draft of a letter written in English. The content gives you pause for contemplation and concern, but you decide to leave it where it sits, merely committing the important details to memory to share with the others.

Lucian:

Instead of randomly searching the the Barren Peninsula, you decide to focus your everstone search on the Cloister Community itself. You find the gates open and the place a-buzz; Maximilian's new policies of openness and intervention in the outside world seem to be cause for great excitement.

To your good fortune, you discover that many children in the community carry everstones around to prevent them from evolving prematurely. You have no trouble convincing one of them, a young Vulpix Mutant with a strangely proud and sorrowful aura, to hand over a few spares. All she asks in return is that you deliver a letter to Rik. You accept the offer and turn to find Toe. Sadly it seems that the old artificer is enjoying his new-found travel privileges, and is out of town at the moment.

On your way out, you are stopped by several people wanting you to deliver letters or messages to your quiet Nincada mutant friend back at HQ. It would seem that the change in community policy will be good for Rik. As the group's first official ambassador to any outside faction in years, it seems he is receiving a large boost in income and social standing. Most of the messages you asked to deliver are party invitations and inquries on weather or not he is ready to consider taking on a second or third wife.

Eventually you collect all the messages and mail the comunity wishes to send along, and return home with it and the everstones in toe.

Llewyn:

Before you eat your breakfast you instruct Carlos to euthanize the Voltorb in storage so that you may attempt to dissect it. You wolf down your waffles and saussage, and slurp some spring water, before returning to the lab to find your subject dead and on the table. You take a deep breath and spend a few minutes meditating on your rapidly fading knowledge methods and procedure, before diving in.

You spend a good amount of time tearing the Pokemon apart and relaying the details of it's innards to Carlos. By the time you are finished, the mad scientist informs you that you have made great strides towards finishing up the Special Armor and Underdog Theroy programs, but that in your new-found zeal for experimentation you have ruined the corpse.

A Voltorb has been killed and destroyed
Roll After Mods = 17

Deciding to ingore your injuries to the best of your ability you decide to get the most out of your quickly waning scientific abilities and grab a Skitty from storage to scan.

You put the Pokemon in the scanner and close your eyes to conjure the entire reminder of your knowledge, and quickly find yourself overwhelmed by it.

You wake up on the floor near the scanner. Once again you are sorounded by scientific notes and drawings that are clearly your handiwork, but that you don't remember creating. Your skin is covered in the blood and feathers of a wingul, and in addition you seem to have used some of the bird's bodily fluids to draw your diagrams and take notes. The Skitty is happily curled up in your cleavage; it's skin now light blue and pleasantly damp to the touch.

A few small bits of scientific data, mostly relating to the use of the scanner, remain within your head, and seems to be in there to stay. The rest of the knowledge you gained yesterday seems to have bled out though.

Carlos and Susan stare awestruck. "Amiga... that was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Bar nothing. You are living proof that you don't have to be a mutant to be a great mind... Something is up with either you, or this whole damn island. And I'm starting to think I like it."

He helps you to your feet, and you notice that all your pain and injuries are gone.

You swear Susan looks just a bit jealous.

Skitty has become loyal to Llewyn! (Ask Kuji for Level and Nature. He may or may not have it pre-set)
Skitty's Type has shifted to Water/Normal!
Skitty's Ability has become Dry Skin!
Skitty has learned Aqua Tail & Scald!
Mind Machine Interface has been made available for research!
You now take a permanent +3 Bonus to all future scanner use!
All your injuries have been healed!
Roll After Mods = 29 (NATURAL 20!)

Susan:

"Dr. Traverse to the Med Bay please..."

Uggg... Dr. Gonzalez of all people should know that you were up most of the night and could stand to sleep in, but you throw on a nightgown and head down to the base hospital without complaint.

When you arrive, you find John O'Neil unconscious with a fractured shoulder and Carlos suffering from a psychic power induced concussion. It would seem that O'Neil snapped and attacked when Carlos insinuated that he was a drunk, and it turned out that curing the man's mutation didn't seriously neuter his psychic powers.

"I was just saying he likely kept his powers because the booze in his system messed with the cure's ability to alter his brain." Carlos says as he clutches his head. "And BOOM! He charges me. I had to use power whip to defend myself, and I think I broke one of his bones."

With a shake of your head, you patch up each patient and return to bed for another few hours. You rise and eat yourself some brunch, but are interrupted by a shriek coming from the labs. It sounds like Carlos.

You rush in to find Llewyn standing with a Skitty in the scanner. The agent's eyes are glazed over and she appears to be in some sort of a trance. She reaches out and strokes the inside of the machine like one would a lover, and the scanner roars to life. As the device begins it's work you notice that the sonar waves are visible, glowing a light blue.

The waves ignore all laws of physics that should govern them and weave around Llewyn to center on and penetrate the Skitty. The Pokemon seems to absorb the sonar, as the no visible waves escape from it's flesh upon entering. The machine then stops abruptly and the real show begins.

What you identify as a faint evolutionary glow engulfs both trainer and Pokemon, and you see the sonar waves moving from the Skitty, up Llewyn's arm, and into her head. In return purple waves ripple in the other direction from the elementalist to her subject. The Pokemon seems to instantly enter the same trance as it's new master, and begins to change before your eyes.

It's skin becomes blue and damp like a Poliwag's, and it's tail loses the awakward hand shape, becoming longer and finned to aid in swimming. Meanwhile Llewyn directs the normally dangerous energy released by this psuedo-evolution into her own body, and her injuries and scars vanish in a matter of seconds.

You and Carlos can't help but stare as Llewyn then uses her powers to control paint and ink to jot down her finding about the Skitty in a matter of minutes.

It is at this point you get the idea to try and direct Llewyn's trance for your own purposes. You grab a Wingull's Pokeball from storage and hand it to her, whispering "Research this." into the enthralled woman's ear. Llewyn nods, lets the Pokemon out, and promptly stabs it in the neck with a scalpel. She then shake the dying bird around like a madwoman get it's blood and feathers everywhere.

Once the bird is bled completely dry, she chucks it aside, and you hurry to place it in the freezer before the madwoman can cause the subject any more harm. When you return you find that she is using her elemental control over liquid to write a research paper on Wingull Biology in the bird's own blood! In about 10 minutes she produces 60 pages of text and 9 diagrams.

Wingull Killed!
Roll After Mods = 23

Deciding to try again, and obtain less messy results in the process, you take Lucian's Nidoran which you have borrowed for the day and throw it in the scanner. You again approach Llewyn and whisper 'Scan the Nidoran' into her ear. The girl gestures at the machine nonchalantly, and it again roars to life without the proper buttons being pressed or input entered. The scan is nothing special this time though, and Llewyn collapses to the ground and falls asleep before it even finishes.

You allow the scanner to finish it's work, before spending the next two hours going over the day's research with Carlos. It would seem that you have finished three projects today, including his pet inquiry on the Pokemon from the dungeons, but despite triumph your lover is too razzled by his concussion and stunned by Llewyn's trance to offer the flirts and complements he usually does in such a situation.

"...Good work today Susan. I think I'll spend the night going over the scanner's black box and figuring out exactly what Llewyn did to it... if we could replicate..."

Special Armor has been Completed!
Underdog Theory has been Completed!
Inquiry on Dungeon Native Pokemon has been Completed!
Roll After Mods = 8!

Llewyn wakes up a few minutes later, and Carlos begins to fawn over her. You understand the extenuating circumstances, and don't suppose that she is any threat, but the situation doesn't bring any joy to your heart. To escape having to witness Carlos giving attention to Stormy, you head outside and slip across the border into JS turf for a walk downtown.

Your leisurely stroll is shortly interrupted by a battle raging up ahead. Three outnumbered JS officers face down five members of the Kings. Remembering your faction's current truce with the former and issues with the later, you decide in interview on behalf of the United Counties.

The battle is swift. Although the Kings have the numbers advantage, it is clear that your chosen allies sorely outclass their foes. By the time you maneuver into position the battle is almost over. Although you don't have time to get one of your Pokemon involved for some training, you do manage to knock out the last King standing with a Megapunch.

GHETTO ACTION SUMMARY: The leader of the JS group you help turns out to be Peter Von Streak himself. He grants you the ability to use the move drain punch by kissing your hand before you can object. We can start and RP from there tonight if we have time OR you can just assume you were too flustered and shocked to talk to him, and he left his calling card and dashed away.

Lucian + purple:

GHETTO ACTION SUMMARY: You sneak into the plantation zone through the tunnels, but when you pop open the manhole cover you are ambushed by 'Doc' Iambway Filler, the leader of the Voodoo Kings subfaction. He has you outnumbered 11 to 2, but instead of attacking he declares a dislike for Virgil and a desire to stop him before he gets whatever is left of the Swain family killed. He offers a temporary alliance, promising weapons and voodoo boons should you agree. Lucian detects via aura that he seems to be earnest, but perhaps a bit too eager to help.

It is up to you two whether or not to accept the deal. I guess we will tackle that in RP as well.

1. Investigate the Gem Encrusted Pokeball. Mod is Perception 4 + Intelligence 6 = 10 / 2 = 5.
2. Investigate Abstract Art Painting. Mod is Intuition 6 + Spirit 7 = 13 / 2 = 6.5.
3. Interrogate Maya to see if she really is a JS spy. Mod is Guile 4 + Intelligence 6 = 10 / 2 = 5.

(Unless the below requires an action, in which case I will switch an action to whatever's needed for the below action)

Lucian decides to get up early to do his tasks then spend the day with Lucy now that she's back. And make sure she's alright from her time as Virgil's prisoner, both reading her aura and talking to her to get her to open up about it, he wouldn't push hard on anything, but he would try to have her bring some of the things that had happened up.

He also gives her one of his extra everstones fasioned into a necklace, a paracord belt with the evo stones he had (a leaf stone and a thunderstone) on it, and the bottle of mutant cure, "If you decide to take the cure, make sure Rags is around. The Everstone is to keep you from evolving with the stones on you, and the stones are in case anything like what happened with Virgil happens again, just drop the everstone and grab hold of whichever one you feel will help the most. Just wearing the belt won't do anything, you'd have to grab the actual stone for that to happen," he hugs her close, "I'm glad your back, Lucy..." he says to her. Anyone would be able to hear the sincerity in his voice when he said that.

(Voting for Night At The Museum. Seriously, am I the only one that has any interest in investigating items rather than dissecting/vivisecting/scanning?)

(Well, if you REALLY want to do it, I'll change my vote to it as well. Just so long as you back me up on taking Fieldwork later. :P The thing is, only S/V/D advances research and therefore levels us up, as far as I know.

So yeah, anyway. Changing vote to NatM.)

Mission Complete!
You all get your 2000 Standard Operation Fee!
Whitey Smith, a hacker who works for the PCNA, owes the party a favor. To cash in the favor the part must be in a majority agreement, or one or more characters must ICly convince Faust to do so. Whitey can steal data from any of the major factions, or he could automatically complete any EDU or TECH item investigation check.

With Lucy back, there didn't seem to be any reason why he'd run around today. So he takes some ample time off before heading out...

1) To the Seawind Estates, again, trying to contact Chekhov. (Athletics +4)
2) To the outskirts of the base, trying to find land to expand on. (Perception +3)
3) And back to base, to interrogate Gene to see what he has to say. (Intimidate +9)

I need actions from D.

2. Mutant Shipping: Send Tick Tock off to England after Susan is done with him, if he's unavailable, send Cul Storm. (Focus mod +9)
