Krieg shrugs.
"The captain is a demanding woman. Still, I don't see much to do here myself. Except maybe shout insults."

She smiles a bit.

"Shouting insults always seemed to be a common theme in military training."

He nods, continueing to watch the training.

Richard contemplates whether or not his idea for training the catchildren is morally right.

"Wiat a second.

They're practically kids. We're making kid soldiers!

What the hell?!"

"No insults. They need to learn discipline. Quite frankly, Krieg, I'd prefer if YOU and the Torikan stayed away from them.

"Wiat a second.

They're practically kids. We're making kid soldiers!

What the hell?!"

"Ordinary children can't survive here. We're ensuring their survival."

Richard just looks incredibly disgusted.

"Surely there must be BETTER ways than training them to be soldiers!"

"Can you think of one?"

[Twi]

"They'rrre morrre like adult childrrren, rrreally. Still kind of disturrrbing."

"I believe someone said they're more competent than us. And it's just what I've seen. You can teach a dog by giving it food when it does the right thing, or by taking away food when it does the wrong thing. Military's seem to be fond of the latter, given that new recruits have a tendency to flail around like fish. These ones are a bit better than most about that, surprisingly."

"I dunno, teaching them how to use magic or something? Or controlled exposure to Shadows?!

All of the above isn't neccessarily MORALLY right, but it's better than making child soldiers!"

[Twi]

"So if they shoot bolts of magic rrratherrr than bullets, that's betterrr forrr you?"

Camille facepalms.

[Cassandra]

Diaeke sets her hand on Richard's shoulders.

"In this, there was little choice. The Torikan infected them."

"What, so treating them like soldiers is somehow better?"

Richard sighs.

"Bloody hell."

He walks back inside, agitated.

[OREOSOME]

"Richard, it's okay. They'll end up okay. Besides, I've seen what a small group of child soldiers can do. They'll keep eachother safe. And quit whining, you sound like a politician. An annoying politician."

[Cassandra]

They either learn discipline, or they become brutes. Which do you think is safer?

[Twi]

Krieg sighs.

"That Bryan person, I hear. Maria was rather angry about that. It would appear she was right to be."

Camille, meanwhile, shakes her head in dismay and follows Richard inside.
