You're assuming they're actually ever going to fight anything. I imagine some of us will go to great lengths to prevent that from happening, myself included.

And are they really children? Krieg fought mere months after she was 'born'. These cats, too, are, for all I can tell, hardly your average newborns. They're smarter. Much, much smarter. And even children die all the time. They starve, they die from injuries working in the fields, they freeze to death in winter or drown in summer, they get sick... Questionable needs aside, what is so morally wrong about them wielding a weapon?"

Camille notices Bryan.

"KRRRRIEEEG!"

"Was?"

"Hit him. Harrrd. He deserrrves it."

Krieg does just that.

"I'm from a world where that rarely happens, and when it does, it is usually too late.

I'm morally opposed to it because I associate it with despotic regimes and tyranny, not protection and defense, and the children enlisted in my world are usually pre-teens. Hardly newborns."

James finally returns, pushing along two shopping carts tied together with bungee cords. One cart's filled with various supplies and goods, the other's (just barely) carrying a fairly large wolf looking thing. He's covered with various bloodied bandages and looks a little... out of it.

Bryan goes flying into one of the legs of the walker, hitting it with a sickening crunch. He groans as he hits the ground, before vomiting blood.

"Shit."
Adrian rushes towards Bryan.
"Is anything broken?"

"Bloody hell."

Alith sighs.

"Well, giving a boy a sword is rather pointless. Giving a boy a musket doesn't help much either. There's no real point to doing such things back where I was.

But if they're willing to face death, I still don't see the problem.

If they're being forced, that's something else entirely."

Camille facepalms, then sprints up to the ship, finds Maria and Richard, and drags the former over to heal Bryan, much to her surprise.

"Uh."

Maria awkwardly starts healing him. Whee, chanting.

Richard wanders off to play on his laptop, still not too happy about child soldiers.

James lets go of the carts, attempts to take a step and fails. He passes out. Presumably, from blood loss.

James is quickly carried to the medlab.
"Hmm... Bloodloss, possible infection. Where's Barth?"

Sona passes by the medlab, looking in curiously.
"What's wrong?"

Bryan vomits blood again as Maria starts healing him, before passing out.

"He went out, and fought a wolf. Its dead, and he's suffering from blood loss."

Barth runs to James and starts to treat him. "Frankly, these children..."

Her eyes are filled with a soft concern, while her eyes glow with a faint light.
