"I really think he is overreacting, but let him be. I had to set myself free from various moralisms back home. He'll understand in time." Bartholomew sighs nonetheless.

"He could still try to be a little more understanding. He seems to be around my age, but his behavior varies wildly and is basically unpredictable."

Camille shakes her head and goes back out, deciding to stand next to Barth this time.

You could say he was spoiled, but that would make it sound like he was an arrogant brat.
More misguided and inexperienced."

Adrian turns back to watching the catpeople. After allowing them a few more moments of training, he claps his hands together.
"Stand at attention."

Richard sighs and mutters to himself.

"Discipline could be taught other ways..."

The curiously absent Maria is of course wherever Richard is. Which is to say she was probably wandering around inside the ship.

"What are you mumbling about?"

Krieg watches the catpeople and Adrian, curious as to what he'll do.

"The catchildren being trained like soldiers, of course.

I understand you guys do it to protect them."

Maria shrugs

"From what I understand, they need discipline. Control.  Always good things to have."

[Cassandra]

All ten 'military' kittens stand at attention.

"From where I come from, we associate the words 'child soldiers' with 'tyrants' or 'despots'.

Kind of hard to swallow it when you know it's a good way, but you're morally opposed to it."

Bryan winces, having overheard the bit about the catpeople potentially turning out as brutes.

"Eh. Sorry 'bout that. Don't know what came over me."

He gets a contemplative look on his face.

"Hmm. Gotta wonder how The Hobbit is gonna affect them."

"To be honest, I'd think training them to do everyday tasks instead of fighting first would be better.

That way they don't shoot everything they can't figure out."
