It's the nickname for her kind. She's a domestic type, designed to be a house pet. So, she's a passive. She is the host for a Primal, a much larger type designed for combat. Made as bodyguards. Same being, different personality. How else would it work? I'd assume she was made with both types in mind to protect a specific person, likely a child.

If allowed, Bartholomew stows his hatchet away and carefully gets closer to the torikan - hands up and showing he's not armed - before patting his head and scratching behind his ears like he'd do to a cat.

The Losts hand dissolves into black dust, which bursts into a incredibly bright light. Within the light, visions of eldritch monstrosities and horrors beyond measure assault the Torikan.
