hook up a broken sensor to a focal module  ( lenses) onto a  light source then hook up a power source to everything and then point your flashlight into the lenses so you could test out if it can make a wall melting  laser gun: then proceed to find a high yield power source and a ED emmiter so you chould  make a really power full  flashlight then make the flashlight have a toggle so you could remove the lenses and then it would replace it self with a scatter lense so you could either have a shotgun or a sniper respectively. so you could theoretically with power  make a laser gun.

and then  after words go to the generator and  fuse the wire that need to be together with your plastool afterwords re-lodge the actual generator and then get the fuse lodge ( the thing that turns it on)  and put it in back with the chains that actually generates the power.

im either talking complete crap or i am a rocket science  ;D

Unfortunately you lack the condensators and crystalline laser emitter necessary to the making of a laser gun. Not that would be useful, there is a bunch of perfectly usable laser guns somewhere in the storage rooms.
Anyway you climb into the mess of wires and machinery to fix shit up. You manage to weld broken wires, kick back pieces in place and use spare lenses to get a reading from the gravitationnal sensor and the low-spectrum one, as well as fixing the generator. You estimate its output at 15%, more or less, of its full power.
After that, you return to the room itself, to find light (yay!) and crackling screens of the consoles. Well, that's that done.

Then something bang on the portside door. (Note: you came by the starboard one and closed it) Shit.

You instantly crouch, and take out your pistool, gun mode. Keeping it pointed toward the door, you move slowly toward it. You line against the wall, ready to jump behind the nearest console after pushing the open button.
Looking closely though, you spot a couple holes in the door. Enough to see through. A quick, quick peak reveal half a dozen of those local beasts. They probably got curious about the light coming from the door and are now tryng to open it. Unsuccessfully, as it is still locked.

Is the pistool capable of welding things? If so, weld the door shut and focus on the repairs. Use percussive repair methods if needed.

There is a hole in the room (which they used to get in), so I'd say no.

what? you're on the opposite side of the ship to the engines! there's no fuel here! besides, just a fuel can won't burn in the void.

you heard me get a nuclear grenade.
a WHAT?

They live in the void (high fantasy setting! Like star wars.) . The room they're in lack a ceiling and one wall.
