I have removed iron. Anyone using iron is automatically changed to bronze and refunded whatever they would have lost.
GreatWyrmGold: Names and descriptions are both welcomed and encouraged. I love stories and roleplaying, it makes my life more easy, as well.
BFEL: Mods are welcome, but will be tested by me first. I don't have a lot of time for doing so right now as my birthday party is tomorrow, so I have a lot of setting up to do. However, Sunday I will begin testing suggested. Modding is, afterall, what really makes dwarf fortress fun.
Eric Blank: I considered adding in the various animal person races, but really did not feel like testing all of them. I suppose if someone
desperately wants a particular one, I could do testing for it.
Wrex: smakemupagus is 100% correct. I am using the base prices from dwarf fortress. I'd be happy to change and shift around the prices of materials and items if people want me to. However, "please do" is not a good enough argument, I require reason. Such as with iron and bronze, enough reason was provided, thus I removed iron.
Firehawk: Ishar is correct.
BFEL#2: I dislike the idea of allowing characters to go into debt. There is currently already 1 way for such to happen, and I'm already trying to find a way around that. I would rather balance the prices with the help of all you guys. Of course, the ones that payed too much for something will be compensated.
Ishar's Human vs A Wolf
The human lad, equipped with nary but a sword was led to the arena. What kind of bastard hires a gladiator without giving him any defensive equipment? Pah. The crowds screams drew his attention up to the announcers podium, upon which stood a darkly skinned human, grinning toothily at him. Another kind of bastard, that one. He followed the announcers pointing finger to his opponent.. A starved looking wolf. If it had its way, the lad would soon be in its intestines.
All went silent as the announcer lifted his hand.. The silence was cracked like an egg, however, as the call went out.. BEGIN
The wolf was released from its cage. Instead of charging forwards immediately, however, it circled the human for a moment, two, before taking a relaxed jog forwards, looking for an opening in his bare flesh. The two soon reached each other, both taking testy strikes at one another, neither connecting, not even grazing. Finally primal instincts kicked in, however, and the wolf got angry, diving down and biting into the mans foot, causing him to fall over and smash his back against the floor. He was alright.. But hell did it hurt. In response, he slashed his sword up, causing a deep gash into the wolves leg, causing it to yelp and let go. The struggle was.. Fairly even.
The wolf bit the man in the chest and begun shaking its head around in a rage, slowly tearing it open. If it kept like this, his ribs would be exposed for the world to see before long. In a savage response, he lashed his head down and bit the wolf on the forhead, copying its actions. Before long, he tore its grip off of his chest, disorientating it. Seeing his chance, he stabbed with his sword, breaking through the wolves skull, narrowly missing his own jaw.
The wolf was slain. The first gladiator victory of the arena was achieved in that fight.
Congratulations, nameless gladiator. Return to your hold.. And rest.

ansotan2000's Human vs A Wolf
The human was lead into the arena at spear point. Guards made a point of not touching people who frothed at the mouth with their bear hands. Once there, they gave him a buckler and sword before quickly scampering off.
The arena masters usual grin was there, a little gladiator looking at him as if he was food was no new occurrence to the old warrior.
I am not your opponent, you poor sod. It's over there.
Looking to the wolf which had been released from its cage moments ago, he grinned manically. It was time to feed.
BEGIN
The wolf slowly began to circle, but the madman would have none of that. He charged straight at the surprised wolf, bucklers held out just in front of his body. Instead of slamming into the wolf, as it seemed he would, he kept running past it, slashing his sword out in the process, giving it a nasty gash in the leg. At the same time, the wolf had also slashed out with a paw, giving him a tiny cut just under the protection of his mail shirt.
Having none of that, the insane human turned in his tracks, charging again, this time, however, his buckler collided head on with the wolf, sending it tumbling to the floor in a daze. The gladiator made quick work of his foe, cutting off a rear leg before stabbing it in the face.
Good work gladiator, you have successfully won the shortest fight in the arena's history so far. .. You can stop biting it now!

smakemupagus' Dwarf vs A Wolf
A very bored looking dwarf was led into the arena. The guards had told him his opponent was a mere wolf.. What nonsense. A dwarf should be fighting dragons, giant cave spiders. Or even goblins, at least. But a wolf? ONE wolf? This was simply pathetic. He'd have to put on an awesome show so that everyone would see just how powerful he was.
The dwarf rested the head of his silver warhammer on his shoulder while he watched the wolf, held back by leashes, snapping at the air, trying to get to him.
Seeing the arena master getting up onto the podium, however, he left his relaxed stance behind, setting his legs apart and narrowing his eyes.
BEGIN!
As the call came out, the gladiator and beast charged at each other, savagery in both their eyes. The wolf leaped into the air moments before the two reached each other, intending to knock the dwarf to the floor, however, battle experience and dwarven intuition would not fall to such a simple trick, and the dwarf smashed out with his buckler, sending the wolf tumbling to the floor. Seeing his opponent prone and helpless, the dwarf smashed his warhammer down heavily, having it collide directly with the wolfs stomach, promptly making it puke all over the arena floor. "This was over before it began." declared the dwarf, repeating his motion, smacking into the wolves body, making it cotch repeatedly, blood now intermingled with vomit.
A predator is not so easily defeated, however, as the wolf leaped back to its feet and, in a moment of powerful will, bit the dwarves leg, sending HIM sprawling now to the floor. However, the dwarf was not injured, just shocked, and thus swung his hammer a final time, cracking in the wolves ribs.
That's match, the dwarf is the winner! Return to your hold, and rest.
smakemupagus-tl;dr
The dwarf pretty much smashed the wolf to a pulp. There were no real heavy, bone crushing hits, but the sheer amount of light hits killed it, with the dwarf taking almost no damage.
