Had a dream that someone offered me the secret to making amazing pixel art. They kept it hidden at a thrift store. When we got there, we discovered that the store had sold it.

After searching, it was eventually found. The secret was kept in a tiny gold-coloured gift bag, with a tiny lock around the rope handles.

I woke up before I could open it.

Somewhat meta, just now.  And you'll forgive the rambling structure, I'm sure, that somewhat reflects the pace of the dream...

It doesn't start at the party, but it might as well do .  The party of an auntie (who actually died, a few months ago IRL, but never mind about that, although I had to think hard, once I'd woken whether or not she or my uncle was still around).

I then had to get home, and didn't have my own transport for some reason.  My parents were there at the party (had taken me there?  ...we have been known to double-up like that), but weren't leaving, yet, so a taxi was called (by the Aunt, it seems... and this is significant).

During the journey home I'm not paying too much attention, except for some geographic features I recognise (bastardisations of real-world features, like two railway-crossings of nearly parallel tracks in short order, along a stretch of road. In reality, both the crossing points are bridges and they aren't on the route home that even my theoretical dreamworld geography should have conceived of).

But then I'm approaching my 'hometown', so I pack everything back up that I'd been working with, on the back seat.  The taxi driver has only been told the hometown, and not the address (Auntie's information, no doubt) and goes past the bottom of the street he should go up, so I helpfully direct him into the right right area... but something's wrong.  The streets below 'mine' are being redeveloped!  I don't remember this, the last time I came 'home', but based on the "third on the left", I am delivered 'home'.  Except that it isn't mine...  I realise we're in a different part of the estate than we should be.  Further up one of the roads.  'Scuse me, Mr Taxi Driver, can we just go back a bit...  where 'my house' should be is part of the redevelopment!  It's redeveloped!  Or, at least, flattened and gravel-strewn.  I leap out, over the fencing, try to find a remnant of my 'home'.

Then it clicks.  This isn't my house but my parents' house!  I don't live in 'hometown' at all, but in where-I-actually-live.  (But, IRL, I consider where I currently live as my 'house', and my parents' house my 'home', still.)  I work this out only after running in my mind through the various locations where I must actually live (a close analogue to the pattern of house-moves that a friend of mine made, in actual real life, around the area, implying my dream-self was far more mobile and thus liable to be confused by his current abode).

So I need to go to my house, which the taxi driver is 'happy' to do (he was asked to take me to my house, so he will, albeit that it's a longer trip) and along the way I confirm by phone that my 'home' was indeed willingly vacated by my parents for a new place (they aren't going to have the nasty surprise that I was going to have, they just haven't told me yet).  But the start of the journey in the right direction goes wrong and I have to be a bit creative in my directions, which I'm fairly sure I get a bit wronger, heading off in an incorrect direction, up into the hills.  To save face, I'm looking for the turn back in the right direction, but local geography doesn't comply with my wishes, and we're heading further and further off in the wrong direction, not helped by coming up on junctions too quickly to respond to the road-signs (yet us both reading them, and the taxi-driver keeps on asking me if I'm sure I wasn't supposed to say 'left' there...  which I was, but I deny).

Meanwhile, my mobile phone is not operating how it should be.  All kinds of menu-like displays that it shouldn't have (indeed, doesn't have, IRL) get in the way of making a direct call to my parents, even while I'm trying to get the taxi back on track, all the while the 'happy to help' taxi driver is fretting that he'd planned to get back to his own area, by now, for another passenger.  But he's obliged to stick with me until I can (somehow) direct him to my house, something he increasingly doubts I can do.  And then my mobile phone makes a beep which seems to suggest it's out of power (certainly for transmitting, though the display is Ok, if still confusing).  And then I fall asleep..?

I'm at my parents' new house!  A strange multistory affair with inbuilt retracting ladders for access and... nothing like they'd want, I'm fairly sure.  I explain that I'm supposed to be in this taxi and going to my house, and after I break through some of my mother's usual ignoring of my wishes (to get me to get some other work done) she tells me that I must be dreaming this bit, perhaps being made to dream by the taxi-driver, and that I just need to wake up to sort things out.  And one way to wake up is to try to read something that is written down, in a dream (indeed, this is something that is said IRL).  So I read some labels.  Successfully.  I do not wake up (either once, or twice!  ...noting that I'd already been reading things 'one level out', so...) and I'm still there, 'aware' that my sleeping body is being taken on a directionless taxi-drive.  And the world around my parents new home is strange.  There's funny planes and gliders flying by this complex.  (Funniest of all, the glider is on a tow-cable from the plane.  But not being towed by the plane, but being held back by it...  somehow, i.e. slowing it down, and yet it isn't falling) and cars on the road outside look distinctly futuristic, as do a lot of clothes being worn by people.  As does someone's wheelchair/bike thingy, of someone we 'know' who comes to visit, all whilst I'm trying to make sense of my parents' new home, wake up from this obvious dream of (and/or 'transportation' into) the future and work out what to tell the taxi driver when I wake up back in his cab, totally off-course (although I think I already had him double-back, without admitting that we were doubling back... but not sure how or when).

And then I woke up.  For real.  If this is awake.

I think there was some kind of game in my dreams last night.
I'm starting to consider keeping a dream journal.

Recent dreams of mine. c:

dream 1
I forgot most of the dream but in this dream I had the ability to transform, my first transformation kind of looked like a small silver deathclaw (or at least the hands did I never saw my entire body in this transformation) it made me much stronger, the next transformation was basically the same except I got bigger my claws extended and my skin turned orange. My third transformation turned my into a big robot, my fourth transformation turned me into a much, much bigger robot about 2 stories tall. At some point I was in my normal human form and was inside of a motel and I was hiding from zombies, I never did see any zombies but I did hear them. Some fighting happened at some points and apparently I had a final form I never did reach it though.

dream 2
I don't remember much but I was in my house and I was with two other people and we were being attacked by a giant centaur, he was attacking us with big plant-like tentacles. (oh my) I tried to help but I wasn't very useful. Eventually I just run away to some nearby building across the street and I'm no longer me, I am now a weird flying woman, I was showing me and some other people some really weird song with a frog, but I eventually got bored of that and decided to go fight the monster, me and some other guy told me it was too dangerous, I just laugh and make a bubble of air and inflate it till it explodes with a "meow" sound. Slowly floating towards my target some random man is being very serious and tells me we need a plan or something. While he is telling me this I make a weird "inside out bubble" After it inflated and popped, It also made a "meow" noise.

dream 3
Once again for some reason I am a woman, and I once again have powers, I talking with my family and for some reason we wanted or needed to go back in time, my mom pulls out a device that opens a little wormhole like thing that can send us back in time, I tell her that isn't necessary, I then with a lot of effort (and grunting) crack the air in front of me, I then punch the crack in the air opening a hole to the past, I then pull on the edges of the time hole to make it bigger. Other things happened like, showing people different places in different times giving them a close up view of the Andromeda galaxy, and me settling down with someone and making a town.

I was a soldier during World War II. It was my solemn duty to assassinate several German officers to weaken their forces. My mission was simple: they were having a parade, so I just had to wait in the tall grass. When they passed by, I blew their brains out one by one with a golf club. None of them noticed the guy in front of them having his skull crushed by a driver, so they all died pretty quickly.

INTERLUDE: A bunch of random people played dodgeball in a swimming pool. Several of them were relocated to the kiddie pool, where they resumed playing dodgeball.

I was a soldier again, and I was hanging around a base of some sort. This time, I had to capture guinea pigs using mouse traps. If I didn't do that, stegosauruses would come and eat them. I learned that the hard way, then captured four of them and put them in a box.

A dream I had later was supposedly an episode of the TV show Monk, but it didn't make any sense. There was a classroom full of people in lab coats. This professor guy was writing on the chalkboard when this black dude looked at this bottle he was holding, which was foaming up pretty badly. He had an "oh crap" kind of expression on his face; immediately afterward, if I recall correctly, Detective Gumshoe from Ace Attorney busted into the room. Suddenly, the black guy's bottle exploded, covering everybody in the room in white foam. Cut to Monk. Monk is standing in front of a chalkboard in some sort of safehouse and keeps repeating to himself about how "it's obviously a spy" and "this case was made for us". I then woke up.

If guinea pigs attract stegasauruses you have a legitimate problem that needs solving.

I dreamed recently I was playing an rts game something like empire earth II, but everyone was insect sized fighting over territory in a field of dandelions by the sea. The AI was kicking my ass, honestly. First it was a neighboring civ that wanted my head. Then it was some barbarian horsemen come and wipe us out. I restarted the game and scouted the barbarians early to learn that... They started with a complete fortress including stables and towers. Typical cheating AI.

Spooky dream last night. I was out hunting, sitting up in a treestand in the early morning at the edge of a clearing around a flowing stream. It was pretty wide, but no more than one or two feet deep at the most, and big rocks all throughout meant that fording it would probably only mean getting my boots wet. Around me was mostly spruce and pines, with the occasional stand of cedar or aspen like I was set up in. There were some pretty steep hills to either side of me, but the valley the river was in was fairly flat. There was a chill in the air, and the trees' leaves were changing color, but none had actually fallen yet. It was a beautiful place, and if I could get there IRL I would in a heartbeat, but dream me was too busy watching the river to really appreciate it. A few moose came by for a drink, but it was clearly a mother and calf and I didn't want to fuck with them. I saw lots of rabbits too, but they weren't what I was after either.

Cut ahead, and it was afternoon now. A lone bull moose strolled out of the forest on the far bank about 80 yards upstream. He was huge, even for a moose, and had an impressive set of antlers. I flipped the safety off on my rifle, and went to look for him through the scope. Through the scope, I saw something back in the treeline, maybe 30 yards upstream of the moose. It looked vaguely like a man, and I didn't want to point my gun at him, so I swapped out for my binoculars. I looked around the area, but I couldn't find him. I started to worry that it was another hunter, and I didn't want some random asshole who had just stumbled out of the woods to get the beautiful moose I'd been waiting literally all day for, so I brought my rifle to bear again and found the moose. I was dialed in and seconds away from pulling the trigger when it stopped drinking and looked off in the direction of the man I saw earlier. It tore off downstream, almost straight toward me. At first I thought he'd shot it and missed, but I hadn't heard anything. I tried to track it through the scope, but I didn't even manage to squeeze a shot off before it made it into the trees about 30 yards ahead of me and out of sight.

I was even more annoyed now that this guy had scared away the moose, but then I realized what had just happened. It wasn't a deer that had just bolted, but a 3/4 ton pile of muscle and anger that had a legitimate chance of fighting off a bear. In hindsight it was probably my realizing the inconsistency that brought things in the way they went from here on out rather than any kind of planning. I started scanning the treeline with my binoculars for the guy again, and this time I spotted him. He was standing at the edge of the woods, only about 80 yards away now. He had been watching the moose, but after a second he turned and looked right at me. He started laughing like he'd just pulled a prank on me, and it had the eerie effect of being right in my ears despite the man himself being pretty damn far away. I put my binoculars down and picked up my rifle, intending to climb down and see what was what.

He was right there. The laughing had gotten louder, and the thing was hanging from a branch to my immediate right, leaning in so its face was maybe 6 inches from my shoulder. It was grinning like a madman, but stood stock still. I panicked and hit it in the face with my rifle butt. The laughter stopped, but I might as well have hit a concrete wall. That only lasted for a second though. Grin still there, it lurched toward me and I started hearing a grating scream instead. I fell out of the treestand and landed spread-eagle, but I was still terrified and managed to scramble to my feet and start running toward the stream. I could hear it drop down from the tree and start chasing me with heavy footfalls, but I didn't look back. I damn near vaulted the stream, and looked back to see that it was gone. I looked all around, rifle ready, but there was absolutely nothing.

Something stirred in a bush near the tree stand, but before I could bring my rifle up I saw that it was just the moose from earlier. I was still kind of bent out of shape so it didn't occur to me to give the moose its space, but he didn't seem to mind me at all and just starting placidly drinking from the stream not 10 feet away from me. My alarm woke me up shortly after.

I just had this actual dream:

I opened a can of coca-cola, took a sip, tasted it, and immediately spit it out, saying "That's disgusting!"
It tasted exactly like I remembered it. Then I said "I'm glad they cancelled it" and dumped out the rest of the can.

The End.

Either way, that was quite a terrifying way to wake up. Goodness me.

I don't think I've ptw'd this yet.

I usually don't remember most of my dreams, except sometimes certain parts that are particularly distinct. Like the one I had last night, I distinctly remember it looking like Puella Magi Madoka Magica for some reason.

Considering that show being what it is, it was probably a nightmare.

I dreamed of running around a fort being chased by a dude with a bastard sword. We then decided nothing was wrong and descended into a cave together to meet his two friends, and to help my brother out, who was living in a totally cool cave-mansion with his new girlfriend. They had a monster problem, and we searched the house one room at a time. But we never found them.

Couple nights ago I dreamed I and one friend were wandering a blighted landscape and approached a strange, long concrete building. Just as we were getting up to it, the storm building around us picked up and a huge vortex opened in the sky above. The vortex spawned many dragons' heads + necks which began whipping down across the landscape far off in the distance. We hid inside, and in the building we knew there were ghosts, demons, something. Other survivors. We rested in the first two rooms for a brief while, admiring the horrors in the heavens.  Then we started clearing. The building room by room. We never actually found anything.

I had a pretty badass dream last night. Sadly I don't remember all of it, but the parts I do recall are still cool.

I was involved in a battle/gang war over some lucrative kind of mine. On my side (I'm not sure if I was the 'leader' of our faction or not) were at least a couple of my IRL family members, various footsoldiers, and I believe an old classmate from high school (who I have met only once since then) was also involved somehow. There were probably others I'm forgetting.

The enemy faction was headed by some portly old tycoon-type fellow, whose general appearance seemed to be based off, oddly enough, Mr Underwood from Timesplitters 2, right down to the bowler hat. Although I suppose he may also have been inspired by Colonel W.C. Greene, an early 1900s mining magnate who looked vaguely similar to Mr Underwood in appearance from the photos I've seen of him. Along with his wife and a small army of enforcers they were determined to take control of this mine no matter what nastiness they had to do to get it.

That was a cool dream. As always, I just wish I could remember more of it.

As always, it did not start where I'm going to start (which had a distinct train-theme, with a bowdlerisation of the London (and/or Berlin) Underground(/S&U-Bahn) system), but at some point I end up out in the countryside.  Or coast, as it eventually was through a small esturine valley quite obviously leading to a beach...  nevermind, though.

The particular route of a train was interesting me.  A high-speed train, that went down a slope (the valley mentioned) and back up the other side, in precisely the way that trains actually don't, especially when they instead have the option of an opportunistically-built viaduct or similar.

The train still took the route, though.  I'd seen it head down (and back out the other side... I think), although most of its trip was out of my view.  So I follow the tracks myself.

Part way down, the obvious tracks do something silly.  Extreme hairpins.  Internal radius of maybe a couple of meters, across several iterations.  My dreamstate-self appreciated the mechanical impossibility of what would happen if the unit bogeys followed the track, and yet the unbending carriage itself had to sit atop such bogeys at each end!  But I followed them down anyway, to the sandy area at the bottom of the valley.

Another thought struck me.  The gauge!  Those hairpin-looped tracks were narrower than the main tracks, quite significantly.  Obviously they weren't the real tracks, as confirmed when a train suddenly thundered back in the opposite direction.  Where the obvious narrow-gauge rails ran through the sand to the regular-gauge ones, the new train diverted off to the side via previously sand-hidden rails of the correct width.  Obviously the real rails were hidden.  And, even more obviously, that I should endeavour to follow them back up the hill!

Ploughing through the sand seemed easy enough, for a train (not that I'd want a real one to have to do so, at least not at speeds of 70 to 100mph).  Further up, though, it appears the route travelled through a boulderfield ('through' as in the rocks covered the track, and the sheer force and speed of the train's transit would (apparently easily) plough through these rocks, although they'd largely fall back down upon the track afterwards, ready for the next train.  Obviously.

Further up the hill, though, was a different arrangement.  A concrete rail (more like a handrail) rose up and carried one side of the wheels, whilst the others sat atop a stone wall.  A mortared one, of course.  A dry-stone wall would have been nice, but that wouldn't have supported a multi-carriage passenger train thundering along at high speed, naturally, so the engineers look like they knew what they were doing.

Mostly.  There were gaps in the wall, several metres long.  But obviously that didn't matter too much with a high-speed train that would rattle over the gaps with ease.  Health And Safety?  What's that?  And then there were the bicycles.  The schoolkids' (?) bicycles, leant up against the wall (within the track-span), with scratched saddles where the flange of the bogey-wheels touched them.  Obviously they only left the bikes and collected them when there wasn't a train due, or else this would be considered a dangerous situation.  The guy in the wooden hut, nearby, might have been there to ensure nothing went amiss.  But, in the position it was, how did the train even a-miss the hut?

And I think that's where I woke up.  With very little idea of where (except back along the tracks) I was going with any of that.

...welcome to my mind.

Had a dream that I won a contest to hang out with the Game Grumps, who (in my dream) lived together in a small mansion with several acquaintances of mine that I haven't spoken to in many years.

Anyway, things were alright, and for some reason I arrived in the middle of the night, and the party began with us... all going to sleep. I needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, so I was standing up walking around, trying not to trip on anything and find the bathroom. Then Suzy (who is Arin Hanson's wife in real life as well as the dream) mistook me for Arin in the dark, so she took me by the hand and started leading me to bed while kissing me on the back of the neck (try working that spatial reasoning out). She finally had me in a bed before I managed to convince her that I wasn't Arin, and when she released me I stood up, flicked on a light...

I was in a bathroom. The bed that I had been in wasn't there. Suzy was sleeping in a bathtub. I used the toilet, somehow totally unconcerned. Flushing the toilet activated not one, but two shower heads, which awoke Suzy. She asked "What is WRONG with you?", and I heatedly replied about how it's stupid that the toilet is linked to the shower heads somehow. After that, Suzy announced that I was kicked out of the house, which prompted a search for my phone that I had left somewhere in the mansion.

Everybody seemed apologetic, except for Suzy who was still sulking. I eventually found my phone on my desk (the actual desk that I have in my bedroom, complete with most of the things that are sitting on it right now) and started heading for the exit. Then I realized that I would need a key to get out, which is when I started drifting back to wakefulness.
