I don't have time to reply right now, trying to get ready for some midterms.
If the GM accepts to kind of run my turn on vague things,
As many as possible make food,
the rest mine whats not too deep.
The rest smelt some iron.
If that's good, then deconstruct all but 5 halls, replace with mines.
If still population, mine it!

Sorry about this. I figured this game would have went quickly like the last one.

To Terenos, may I have the lands that grek owned inside my borders?

Apparently I am incapable of winning any military confrontation regardless of the odds or how many dudes I throw at the problem. In light of this discovery, I cede everything I have to Terenos, including populations and tech. Terra gets DD-28 though.
:-\ if this is another trick...
i'm not complaining, i'm just suspicious
i'm gonna play it safe, not working any threatened structures this turn

112 work "safe" farms/fisheries

disband all 18 armies at the site of the invasion
disband the 5 armies at F-19

39 armies N-19, 38 attack the balrog
16 claim O-19 F-34 Q-41,42,43 Q,R-44
1 build mine
26 build farms/fisheries
2 build towns N-16,17
5 build preserves

If it were a trick, it would be a much better one.

well, as safe as i can.
it just doesn't seem right, that you would give up at this point. but i suppose i had only been looking at it from my own point of view, in which you were the biggest problem facing me at the moment.

I could keep going and harass you until the cows come home. But that won't actually get me anywhere. I just don't have the industrial capacity to field the forces needed claim any artifacts and without claiming the artifacts, I cannot win.

You're my people's god you cannot give up. DX You're like a lot of the story for this game, just saying.

Well, yeah, but what do you want me to do? My only real way to win would be to use the Cloak of Shadows to steal the artifacts and that would take 21 turns minimum, assuming nobody else even tries. Realistically, we're looking at 40 more turns if I want to try to win that way. We might be able to finish by Christmas. Not to mention the fact that doing it that way would be super duper boring.

I feel guilty about how this thing ended, and I would like to give everyone participating in the game, as well as any spectators following along a sincere apology. Also, I apologize for the extreme thread necro, but I feel it is justified.

I feel horrible about abandoning the project, and even more so for not explaining the situation in the thread. Basically, I was getting pretty tired of doing menial calculations for each update, basically performing the function of the computer in a 4X game (although I served other functions such as settling disputes about the rules and writing the story, which I enjoyed). I think I will write a script to perform most of these functions for me, which should decrease my workload (which took hours of my time per update near the time I abandoned the game), as well as eliminate arithmetic errors.

I know it's been almost a year, but would any of you guys be willing to continue this game? Maybe we could bring in some new players to replace anybody who is unable to resume their position, so if anybody is interested in doing that please post. I will probably make a new thread for High Fantasy Conquest: Game Two: Part Two if you guys are actually interested. If the original players don't want to resume the game (which I totally understand), then would anybody be interested in participating in a Game Three?

Good threads never die, they just go on indefinite unannounced hiatus. I only ever spectated, but I'd be interested in participating. Speaking as a GM, I've had the exact same burnout situation you've described, and I've been considering doing something similar for that game as well (well, more than considering, but I suck at coding.)

One of the first games I ever watched might need a replacement for it's necroing? Sign me up if there's space.

I would be interested in resuming. My undead halfling armies will yet WREST DOMINION OF THESE LANDS!
