You're doing a fine job. As you suggested yourself, just don't get too hung up on making panels and flashes and stuff. You can still do them, and they're greatly appreciated, but what's more appreciated is a forum game that doesn't go on hiatus every other day.

Also, if you really want to keep making panels and stuff for each update, why not accept panels from the players, or even random people who might be interested? It'll be a lot quicker, and it'll provide a variety of art styles if enough people participate.

You know, sounds good. I think I could even use this as an exercise to improve my descriptions. I've been using maps and stuff as a way out of doing them because I always miss something or use poor wording. Probably one think I should ask myself is: is this NECESSARY? If the answer is no, get to rolling instead.

Update time, let's experiment: no maps, no flashes, no panels, final destination.

Welp, unless someone gets on pesterchum, all I can do at the moment is

>Panic

You flip out so hard you flip all the way back in. Seriously, that is the only conceivable result of this action.

>Jonathan: Put cylinder on the stand part of that thing that the card fit into, start experimenting with the machine until something happens

You put the cylinder on the stand part of the thing the card fits into, and after pressing enough buttons, the TOTEM LATHE carves the burnt-green cylinder into a distinct shape that you could not describe if you tried.

>Penny: Stay patient, keep moving.

You keep moving for another seven or so minutes. This is, of course, about as much walking as you're used to anyway in an enormous mansion. The only indicator that you're getting anywhere is the amount of time between having to turn left decreases a little every few minutes.

[Listening (Mediocre) + 1 = Average] You swear you just heard a faint CLICK-CLACK in the distance behind you.

Oh my god, someone killed your parents and now they're following you and they're going to kill you with a shotgun OHMYGOD

>Penny: Move faster. Stick to left wall unless you freak out even harder.

'I am about to die.'

The thought was strangely comforting. There was absolutely nothing He could possibly do, so therefore, no reason to panic.

Sirius sat in front of the computer for a second, then opened a window.

SL: If you aren't hit with the fallout, of course.
SL: That's pretty much it. I have a call or two to make, I guess.
SL: If you haven't picked up on it, it's a giant meteor.
SL: I'm sorry that we'll never be able to play the game. From what this window shows it looks pretty good.
SL: I should probably talk to him too.

You try to put the cylinder in/on the cylinder-shaped platform, but its lid is still closed. However, the TOTEM LATHE, not being cylinder-shaped, accepts the object and immediately begins carving it after inserting the pre-punched card.

GM TECHNIQUE ACTIVATE: COMPEL ASPECT!

Your second aspect is My Weapons Are Always "At Hand." [] I find it in keeping with this aspect that, instead of running away like a scared little girl, Penny would dramatically turn to face the oncoming opposition, fists held high.

Here's how a Compel works: you have 2/2 Fate Points remaining. You get an extra one for roll bonuses and other things if you back down and accept the alternate action. On the other hand, if Penny resists the compulsion to fight/get revenge (?), you must instead pay one Fate Point.

This guy sure is proactive.

Your daunting tome reminds you not to panic.

I'm going to spend a fate point, and keep moving. Guns vs. Fists = Dead girl.

Maybe not actually, but still, dang.

SL: I don't even have the time to be properly pissed off.

Maybe not actually, but still, dang.

You resist your Fight Instinct and keep moving. After a few more minutes of left turns and no additional gun-clicking sounds or footsteps, you realize you may have just been hearing things.

One last left turn leads to the center of the pyramid. Wasn't this place a lot smaller on the outside? The room is square, and a bit darker than the hallways leading to it. You see a large sarcophagus in the very middle of the room with indentations on it.

>Sirius: Briefly wonder why this guy will not go away.

I can't. I'm already Achim's server player, and I'm waiting for someone to connect to MY shit and deploy stuff.
