Wait it's not crushing the gem?

GET MORE GEMS, PEOPLE! We've got experimenting to do.

Since you lack any gems and nobody wants to lend you some, you just twiddle your thumbs for a bit.

Go to the busted door magma trap room but don't set foot inside. See if you can find obvious exits, traps, or gems from outside.

[19 + 5] You see nothing obvious in the magma trap corridor.

Right, so, this thing is probably really important if it's this hard to get.
Grab the gem, put it in my pocket, hope it doesn't kill me.
Start asking around for someone who knows detect magic.
I do GHM casts detect magic on the gem then starts eating some honey. :)

[16] Why, this gem appears to be a gem of true seeing. Looking through the gem allows you to see through illusions and see invisible creatures and items. Awesome. To celebrate, the GHM eats some of its honey.

Open the door and look inside.

Behind the door is a ten foot landing and a set of stairs that extends further into the dungeon. The corridor continues for 20 more feet at the bottom of the stairs, before turning right (ie to the east). You see nothing else interesting or important, though the stones in this section of the dungeon look older and more worn.

go to the secret door.

You go and join Kazard, Maximum and Hans at the secret door.

Well, far be it from me to split the party, I head to the secret door.
Feeling particularly bold after his victory over the broken gargoyle statue, Javier enters the secret door with a cry of "For Treasure!"

"Let's head down then. Watch the stairs."

These old stones are probably hiding trigger stones and traps. Check each one for traps and tap it with the very end of my stick just to make sure as I slowly make my way down.

Good thinking. I'm also gonna search this whole hallway pretty thoroughly for anything suspicious. Usual stuff, traps and secret doors.
And just for fun, I'll use my fancy new gem on it, in case the traps are hidden with magic.

This can't be just a trap that goes nowhere because it's possible to defeat it. Still, I'm not stupid enough to try it alone until I've done something with this life, so... follow my way down the stairs, do so behind everyone else juuuust to be sure.

Seeing has Hans has pretty much stated that she doesn't want to be ungender-bended (?), you just follow her around.

These old stones are probably hiding trigger stones and traps. Check each one for traps and tap it with the very end of my stick just to make sure as I slowly make my way down.

[3 + 5] [13 + 5] [5 + 5] [15 + 5] You find no traps or triggers as you head down the corridor.

Good thinking. I'm also gonna search this whole hallway pretty thoroughly for anything suspicious. Usual stuff, traps and secret doors.
And just for fun, I'll use my fancy new gem on it, in case the traps are hidden with magic.

Using your fancy new gem, you start searching for traps and hidden doors.

[13 + 5] Amusingly enough, you find a secret door on the eastern side of the staircase. Not on the landing, mind you, but on the wall of the staircase (I'll post a map).

Malaken shall follow everyone to the secret door!

This can't be just a trap that goes nowhere because it's possible to defeat it. Still, I'm not stupid enough to try it alone until I've done something with this life, so... follow my way down the stairs, do so behind everyone else juuuust to be sure.

Waits for everyone else to enter the secret door. Watches expectantly.

Maximum, Nikolai and Malaken all creep behind Kazard as he diligently searches the corridor for traps. As soon as he reaches the corner, everybody pokes their heads out to see what's beyond.

Corvus the Mage walks up to the entrance of the Tomb of Horrors, having heard how insane the place was. Unfortunately, he misunderstood the people who told him about the insanity, and thus Corvus thinks that he's about to enter the most rocking dungeon ever. Poor, poor Corvus.
