You could press each individually and see what happens, unless the combo requires all three to be pressed... Then we should avoid yellow+blue, orange might be our best path, since it is a "shade of red" and requires to sacrifice "aught but a loop of magical metal"... Blue will probably be certain death (just like every other choice) but the red gem button seems to be our best choice.

I'll push that red gem button and see what the portal does, unless Midna has an objection.

I think that note is referring to later in the dungeon, since the first bit talks about going back to the arch (the misty gate) or the tormentor (either the green demon-mouth, or the door with the monster fresco painted on it) to discover the "second great hall". As for the arch, the lights reset after all 3 are pressed, so it's a sequence. Also there's no red button. If we're lucky, it's just a trial-and-error thing... I'm really hoping there isn't a penalty for guessing wrong.

Also, I might suggest putting Wild Magic on hold, at least for now. Most of the thousands of effects don't resolve problems, but can do many things that could get people killed. Save it as a Panic Button for when you need it?

Anyway, I'll take a swig of brandy for courage, suggest people stand back, and hit Orange, Yellow, then Blue.

((Give my sprite a mysterious look, cause those look awesome!))

Back the hell away from the portal and write a copy of the words that I found down in my journal.

Hmm...

I cast mage hand, and attempt to use the result telekinetic force to lift the slab.

((Also, Solifuge, if you could my sprite an 'absolutely batshit insane' expression, that'd be great.))

Spoiler: Even more sprites (click to show/hide)

((Could I get that in red? Or maybe lime green?))

EDIT: How about both?

Oh, and rumbling-ceiling-room guys, you might want to either try the other door, read the message someone scrawled on the wall, or just sprint out of the hallway.

Ask Urist to follow me back to the room with spikes with his light. Search the room carefully, avoiding the spikes, and asking Urist to keep within the tunnels so we're not both inside the room with spikes at the same time.

[4 + 5] A quick search of the room with spikes reveals that it's entire roof is hinged so that it can swing down for whatever reason.

I look up to investigate the grinding noise.

Right you are good sir, for a quick inspection of the ceiling reveals that it is steadily moving down to crush the unfortunate Kadzar II. I hope Kadzar the first had more than one child.

Anyway, I'll take a swig of brandy for courage, suggest people stand back, and hit Orange, Yellow, then Blue.

The DM hits his head against a wall, but otherwise nothing happens.

Back the hell away from the portal and write a copy of the words that I found down in my journal.

You write the words down in your journal, the mysterious one that you don't seem to have on you. Ah well, you can probably memorize it easily.

I cast mage hand, and attempt to use the result telekinetic force to lift the slab.

[4] Even at your best, Mage Hand is no-where near strong enough to move the slab. Though if somebody else wanted to give it a try, it'd probably help them out a bit.

Spoiler: Brave Adventurers (click to show/hide)

Unless Solifuge objects, I'm going to be using these sprites for the game.

I quickly dodge out of the way, unless it seems like the whole ceiling is coming down and there will be no safe place in this room to run to, in which case I will quickly open the door on the left and run through it as fast as I can.

The entire ceiling seems to be crashing down on you, so you quickly open the left door and start running.
