((Is it bad I sort of imagine Mordekhai doing a double summersault in air and then landing gritting his teeth.  Feel free to interpret it anyway you want, but I'm just sort of characterizing all the characters in my head for later fun.))

((Hee heh. No, I can definitely see that. His sudden change of pace put an image like that in my head  :P. Also, minor nitpicking, The Demon Shaman is using Tikan as a body shield, but do you mean all attacks targeting the demon have a chance to hit her, or does it mean the Demon's attacks will possibly hit Tikan, or both?))

((All attacks directed at the Demon Shaman have a chance of hitting Tikan, he has control enough over himself to avoid hitting her unless he means to.))

Aegnor smiled, he had done a good job, and the feeling of a brilliant energy enveloped him once he had finished his spell. It repulsed the feeling of miasma from the demon. Deciding to try to do something, he attempted to Counter the necromancy on the zombies.

((Well, Mordekhai is supposed to kick into high gear whenever there are innocents in danger. So yeah. :P))

With unusual alacrity for a soldier in heavy armor, Mordekhai broke both the impact of the wave of force and his fall with a brief display of acrobatics before getting back down, his metal greaves screeching against the floor as he was pushed back by the strength of the impact, still keeping his balance, teeth gritted in defiance and eyes filled with pure, unadultered rage set upon his enemy.

"You shall fall this day." he growled with a low, grim voice in return to the demon, his boiling rage only growing as the foul creature used Tikan as a shield. His greaves once more found purchase and he started a new charge, this time trying to move quicker and avoid another blast of force while paying attention to Tikan's situation through his haze of hate.

If the demon shaman is still able to keep hold of Tikan, try to use grappling moves on an unprotected part of his body, twisting and ripping off one of his arms, for an instance.

If Tikan wriggles free, bear down the flail upon the demon's shaman head in a righteous strike.

Zealots and Demons, Turn 22:  Tikan Rescued

Quote from: Caellath, 97
If the demon shaman is still able to keep hold of Tikan, try to use grappling moves on an unprotected part of his body, twisting and ripping off one of his arms, for an instance.

[5] [(4+1-2)x2=6 damage] You run forward, only interested in spilling blood and are able to grab a hold a scale on the demons back and rip it off.  You throw the scale behind you and roar in victory.

Quote from: CrimsonEon, 80
Continue fighting the zombies while trying to close in on the mage.

[4] You manage to actually get closer to the mage this time, but you still have these two zombies all over you. [4] [3+1=4 damage] You stab the already injured zombie but he just keeps coming at you, wanting more of your flesh.

Quote from: DemonShaman, 77
Cast Unholy Reckoning, Use Tail to stab Tikan, continue strangle Tikan

[4] ([4]+[1]+[3]+[2]+[4]-3=11 damage to Mordekhai) Purple flame envelops the Crusader for a moment and he watches as the shield starts to give.  Then just as quickly as it began, it is expended.  The demon growls in annoyance at the shield saving the damnable holy warrior.  [1] Tikan writhes out of the way of the demon's tail. [2]  Tikan is able to get a breath of air during her moving somehow.

Quote from: Zombie Guard 2, 73
Kill the Draconian!

[4] [4 damage]  The zombie continues attacking, his flailing arms barely even affecting the shield.

Quote from: Dwarmin, 67
Action: Use my low position to try and trip the Demon, making it let go of Tikan!

[4]  You manage to trip the demon and in the process he loses his grip on your ally Tikan

Quote from: lawastooshort, 47
Escape grip.

Use basic attack against demon. (autoed)

[1]  You cough for a few seconds on the floor, eventually you get back up on your feet though.

Quote from: Ochita, 33
Counter the necromancy on the zombies.

[1]  You try to counter-enchant the necromancy on the zombies, but, your lack of experience shows as you just vaguely poke at the magic holding them together.

Quote from: Elven Pirate Mage, 23
Fling Shruick away

[1] The mage doesn't seem to be able to do anything at all, distracted by the counter-enchanting.

Quote from: Zombie Guard 1, 22
Kill the Draconian!

[5] [6x2=12 damage] The zombie begins to beserk against your shield, breaking through it.  His lust for violence seems sated, for the moment.

((Remember to update the status's Norrec. Tikan freed and demon tripped on the ground. :P))

Momentum

Nepthym watched the Demon thrash on the ground where she had knocked it off it's feet with a sweeping kick-a good moment to strike, but she had other plans. She had to get up off the ground, first...

Action: Preform a kip-up, then avoid the Demon and rescue the crewmember from the Altar, removing her from the line of fire.

Mordekhai smiled at the demon from behind his faceplate. A terrible smile - one that filled all the bodily requirements for performing the act of smiling, but completely missed the mark, appearing utterly wrong but mercifully hidden by his helm.

Even in his fury-ridden mental state, the crusader noted Tikan's release with relief, but noticed the innocent was still upon the center of the altar. Now either one of his teammates saved the girl as quick as possible while the demon shaman was distracted or he would do it himself.

Mordekhai had been taught to hate demons, but value the lives of innocents above that hate. Even if the only moments in his life happened to be the ones he was fighting for the lives of others, he'd accept it gladly.

His life was expendable, and the lives of others were valuable.

If Nepthym isn't able to rescue the captured person in time, then do it. If she is able, bring down the flail upon the area of the demon shaman which lost its scaly protection.

((Comrades, if I get hit again I'm going to have to go cower in the rear))

Tikan wondered if she'd bounced when she hit the ground. She hadn't noticed in the rush of action and, although it seemed a strange thing to fixate on, she couldn't get the idea out of her mind. Then she remembered the foul demon next to her on the ground.

Thrust into the demon's eyes.

Aegnor Swung hard at the pirate mage, deciding that a hit to the crotch should stun him.

Aegnor was angry, both at his own inexperience, and the fact that this... Pirate would do such a thing. It seemed like he would have to teach him a small lesson in pain.

Shruick let out a surprised gasp as the zombie's relentless assault. He barely managed to cut the armless guard before it managed to tear ferociously through his shield. The mage could wait, these zombies held the clear advantage now.

Continue fighting, finish off the armless Zombie Guard 1

Zealots and Demons, Turn 23:  In which there is much death.

Quote from: Tikan ,97
Thrust into the demon's eyes.

[2]  You stand there, feeling a little woozy.  You try to swing for the demon but he is too fast for you in your current state and dodges out of the way.

Quote from: CrimsonEon, 67
Continue fighting, finish off the armless Zombie Guard 1

[2]  Between the two zombies you spend more time defending yourself than doing anything useful.

Quote from: Demon Shaman, 64
Use tail to fling the Crusader away and get back on feet.

[4] [6+2-3=5 damage] The demon manages to grab ahold of Morekhai's leg and flings him into one of the benches, toppling it over.  The shield visibly breaks on impact.  [3] The demon manages to get back up to his feet again.

Quote from: Zombie Guard 2, 59
Kill the Draconian!

[5] [6x2=12 damage] THe zombie assaults Shurick with renewed vigor his claws and teeth ripping and tearing.  The Draconian is little more than a bloodied husk by the time the zombie is done with him.

Quote from: Caellath, 47
If Nepthym isn't able to rescue the captured person in time, then do it.

[5] Ever focused, Mordekhai gets up not letting the demon stop him from his mission.  He runs towards the captured crewmember, hoists her up over his shoulder and manages to drop her off just outside of the Cathedral before popping back in the Cathedral.

Quote from: Zombie Guard 1, 21
Kill the Draconian!

[3] [5/2=3 damage] The guard manages to finish off the Draconian and soon the zombies go into a feeding frenzy forgetting about everyone else.

Quote from: Ochita, 11
Aegnor Swung hard at the pirate mage, deciding that a hit to the crotch should stun him.

[5] [6x2=12 damage]  Unexpectedly the priest takes the offensive, smashing the pirate first in the crotch before delivering a flurry of blows that would make most people wilt.  Soon the Pirate is little more than a bloody crumpled heap.

Quote from: Elven Pirate Mage, 9
Recover from beating, shoot the berserker priest

[6] The mage surprisingly manages to stand back up. [6 damage] Just in time to be hit in the head by Aegnor again.  [2]  Aegnor knocks the pistol from his hand as he draws it prompting the mage to yell.  "What?  WHAT IN THE NETHER ARE YOU?!" ((Final Blow Rolls)) [6(pirate) v 6(Aegnor)] [2 v 6]  The Pirate fails to defend himself at all as Aegnor deals the final blow, his staff breaking the pirate mage's neck.  His head turning around about one-hundred ten degrees as he falls to the ground, dead.

Quote from: Dwarmin, 6
Action: Preform a kip-up, then avoid the Demon and rescue the crewmember from the Altar, removing her from the line of fire.

Basic attack against the demon. (autoed)

[5] [6+1x2=14 damage]  You just barely rise to your feet and see an opening, you plunge your dagger into the now unprotected back of the Demon Shaman.  As he bursts into unholy flames you whisper, "The job is finished."  In the corner of your mind you can hear him whisper back, "It matters not. . . I. . . am eternal."  You wish he was wrong, but you know a few months from now he will just be reborn in the Nether, stronger for his trials here.  You wish momentarily that you had the power to absorb the very essence of his soul, and then destroy it.  But that ability has not been seen for a very long time.

Enemies

Elven Pirate Mage:  dead
Demon Shaman:  dead
Zombie Guard 1:  Health, 3/15.
Zombie Guard 2:  Health, 15/15.
