CAULDRON OF LOOTS
« on: July 31, 2012, 02:47:47 pm »

Hey guys, just saw this and thought you might want to check it out. :)

CAULDRON OF LOOTS

Behold! Introducing a brand new action - rpg, in the vein of Diablo, Drakensang and HedgeQuest 2000. It's the astonishing new CAULDRON OF LOOTS!

Marvel as you explore a vibrant world, filled with up to 5 types of enemies. Explore multiple fantasy locations.

Take the fight to two deadly bosses. The world is yours to save!

-Two player classes, each with their own gender and abilities.

-Amazing item system, allowing such randomly - generated items as Cap of Hattery and Linen of Clothing.

-Two deadly bosses, each with their own attacks!

-Many enemy classes (more than four!) to combat.

-An in - depth levelling system that allows you to increase your skills as you level.

-Character progression up to level 10.

-The first ~5 minutes of the game (the tutorial) absolutely free!

-Two towns and as many dungeons to explore.

-Linear story path ensures you never get lost or confused!

-No cinematics streamlines the game experience.

-Two player co-op via e-mail.

With all the above, CAULDRON OF LOOTS is re-defining the definition of action - rpg.

FAQ, answered by head developer, Anders Slesvig:

Q. Why is the game not called "CAULDRON OF LOOT"?
A. Original, we wanted to call the game CAULDRON, but the marketing department suggested CAULDRON OF LOOT as the title. Unfortunately, that name is already taken by the famous DOS game of 1987, so we changed it to CAULDRON OF LOOTS.

Q. Why can't I be a female warrior?
A. If you want to be a female character, select the sorceress. Extra character models unfortunately take time to develop and implement.

Q. Why do I have to pay extra after the first five minutes?
A. By charging you for the game and then charging for in-game items and additional quests, we are offering the best experience possible to the user.

Q. Why is the levelling system restricted to level 10 max?
A. Additional levels will be accessed once the first DLC, Pandemonium of Destruction, comes out. The cap is planned to be increased to 12 for minutes more of fun.

Q. The game has two player co - op. How do I activate this?
A. To activate co - op, send your character file to a friend via email, or vice versa. Your friend / you then controls both characters. You can advise your friend on how to best use your character.

Q. I accidentally picked the wrong skill when levelling up! How do I change my skills?
A. To have a different set of skills, pick and level up a new character from scratch.

CAULDRON OF LOOTS is out soon for £29.99. Have fun!

Either way, this is a masterstroke of marketing. So brilliant you forgot (or felt it wasn't needed!) to include a link.

Capital thread name, features pointed out, price known, date of release = 'soon', no link.

Do people that advert their game without having any screenshots or videos to make it legit and are obviously not aware that we aren't a bunch of noob gamers deserve a ban?

I don't know what you're worrying about. If Anders doesn't make finish the game, you won't have to pay him!

WOW

Guess you decided to stop by, Anders! Good to see you.  :)

Mr. Slesvig is a close friend of mine, B12'ers.

I have a question. Why haven't any of the spells been implemented yet for the sorceress? I've been a part of the alpha for months now and my character, Myleena of Valinth remains woeful useless compared to my fighter, Hrugur or Munster.

Cheers.

EDIT: Politeness. :)

spells unfortunately take time to develop and implement and require much resources. if you are not happy with sorceress build do not play game.

Now this..does not make sense to me. Wouldn't my experience be better if I was not forced to pay for in-game items as well as buy the game?

Selling DLC gives Anders the resources he needs to improve the game by developing more DLC for you to buy. This allows him to create the best possible game experience for the player.

Any word on DRM, mister Slesvig? Just remember: there's no such thing as bad DRM as long as it stops people pirates from playing the game.
