Yes, sadly.  She died over a century before the founding of my fort.

Avum Beardedmassive the Morning of Jewels was a female bird roc born in -259 and died in 102 (Struck) by the dwarf Meng Portalpaddled, in a duel.

The best feelings in DF

When you hit [esc] and stare at the 'save game' option. Your favourite Dwarves have died, your projects lie in bleak and burned ruins with a handful of survivors trying to hold the Fort.
You know how easy it is to just end the game and start at the previous save, a time where you would be able to not make the same mistake that led you to this point.
You press save, and the certainty of those fallen is sealed.
Whether those scant survivors succeed or not, losing remains Fun.

The ability to have such attachment and the willingness to see it all go is something I find rather unique to Dwarf Fortress.

Received a usefull migrant wave, and the novice jeweller(from this wave) enter in a mood and create Tishakór, a rose quartz chain. Now i pray to have a artifact bucket and build the most awesome well ever.
