Hello and Congratulations on graduating from your Magical College.  I am your representative from the Valde Regnum, here to guide you on your journey to becoming a great mage.  Many mages after college join one of the several organizations and guilds throughout the land.  They may or may not be magically oriented, but all need its guide.  Of course, it is not required to join a guild, but it is highly recommended of you.  So, here is the list of guilds and organizations registered with the Valde Regnum


                                                                                                             


Welcome to Roll to be a Mage.  This RTD will feature a high fantasy world with a heavy emphasis on magic.  This world is called Eior, and is surrounded by many other worlds, unseen.  There are only two of these realms known to this world, and they are named Baldassa and Litra.  These realms are common knowledge, as well as the fact that there are others, but it will be up to you to discover them.

This game is mostly freeform, with events by me thrown in.  You can pretty much do what you want, but if you join a guild, you better do some missions. Each of you will come from a college (or be sponsored by one), which specializes in a certain type of magic.  People who join later in the game, after a spot opens up, can either state they are from one of these colleges, or self taught.  Being self taught won't give you any benefits, but you won't have any type of rivalship with other colleges, though you may carry the stigma of being unlearned.    If someone really doesn't want to be from a college in the beginning, just state a college that you wish to be sponsored from.  You won't gain any type of benefit or downside, a true middle.  You may also make a more specialized College if you wish, pending my approval.  Just look through my college list to see what's fine, and the more bonuses you have, the more downsides you must have as well.

After choosing what college you are from, you may either choose to state which guild you wish to join, or if you don't want to join a guild at all.  Guilds will have their own benefits and disadvantages, though some might not be strictly magical.  And once again, not joining a guild won't give you any type of real upside or downside, other than the stigma of being unguilded.  You may also make your own guild, and any amount of people you wish can join, but just like colleges, it needs to be balanced.

Note that these are a list of all major registered guilds.  Minor guilds or unregistered guilds you will have to find yourself.  If you make a guild at character creation, it will be registered.  If you make it after character creation, you will have to go through a registration process.

There are only a few races in this game, but two of them are originals by me.

In colleges and guilds, you might have noticed the specialties, describing a few magic types.  There are three main categories of Magic: Body, Mind, and Realm.  Body controls most magics that affect you as a person, such as enhancement magics and close range type spells.  Mind controls most illusions or spells that deal with the pure arcane, such as magic blasts or deception magic, and psychic abilities.  Realm controls magic that are elemental, planar, or simply spells that don't have to do with you.  Examples of Realm magic is summoning a demon or shooting bolt of lightning from your hand.  This is the list of all known magical types:

Meta Magic doesn't have a governing stat, and is raised by practicing all magics of that type.  It doesn't affect the outcome as much as more specific magics, though.

Anyways, this game is still open for my previous players.  If they don't want to play, then I'll go through my waitlist.  If they don't want to play, I'll open up the slots.  I already have three, I'm waiting for replies from Nirathi, FuzzyZergling and Tiruin.  They said yes, so you're going to have to wait for retirees and death if you want to play.

The waitlist is still open for whoever.

Turn 14





Flip switch, surface for air. If nothing seems to be happening, swim back down to search for switch-related changes.

You flip the switch, and the pool quickly drains.  However, you are now standing in a cylindrical pit with no discernible exit, except for at the very top, where you know the trap door to be.  |  You wonder how the water got out....




((Under Djork, 6+2 =5? Also, hurrah for my staff! I'm expecting some lethal rolls when I do slip up. Also, yay to pelvic bone durability!))

Kira stared down into the dying man's eyes. They were deep and as dark as a pit, but she thought she saw a plea for mercy in them. No matter, she had to at least disable him and remove that blade stuck jammed in her shoulder. The surroundings gave an ominous feel, like a storm was brewing due to the casting of Air and Lightning spells. This had to be finished fast.

Smite ye Apprentice using my Ebony Blade! Which I obviously know is being wielded in my left hand!

Also, remove blade from shoulder. Drive that into the Apprentice's shoulder, if possible.


"Surrender or die, you apostate filth!"

You swing at the mage | rather pitifully (-1 to dam and hit).  | | You manage to strike him at the elbow | and you get around 1/4 through his arm!  His left arm is also debilitated. (-1 to rolls with the left arm).  | You also manage to get his hidden blade out of your shoulder, and you attempt to drive it into his.  | |  You over extend, and you instead drive it into his neck! |  The blade slashes directly into his throat.  However, it seems to miss his spine, seeing as he's still alive, albeit gargling on the floor.  (A -1 to his bleed out roll, happens every turn now).

You gain the skill Swords!  You gain +3 to that skill.




Well then, now I guess I shall practice water rope.

|  Well, you cast the spell, but you don't get any better.  At anything. 

You should feel bad.




Create a group of gnomes to find the machinery for me. They shall get casks of ale when they find it.

You make the gnomes.  |  They find jack shit, but they have an idea if where the mechanics are coming from.




Booya.


Thank her, promise to find out what I can, and head out to find a quiet place to practice Redimio Ianus for a little bit before heading on to the next house on the list.


I should probably get some magic practice in sometime while I'm buffed.

You go and practice your Arcane Pulse on somethings no one cares about, like children.  | You gain a mastery over your arcane pulse, and feel yourself getting better in that magic type as well.

You master Arcane Pulse!  It now has +.5 to damage, and is instant cast!  You also gain +2 to Redimio Ianus.




Purchase/rent the carriage. If funds are insufficiant, sell equipment looted from bandits.

Talius pays for the carriage and you are on your way.  |  You arrive in Taeledalius with no extra worries.

Talius gets off of the carriage, and tells you and your companions to follow him.



Friendly/Neutral NPC's

Dorian: You have no clue

Wind Monstrosity| | The bolt of lightning manages to distrupt the elemental slightly.  (-1 to rolls for one turn). It continues to attack the Black Robed Mage.

Djork: Recognizing the spell his opponent has cast, Djork calls upon the wind to disperse the clouds.  |  He perfectly counters the attack.



Enemy NPC's

Black Robed Apprentice: Trying not to die. | And failing spectacularly.

The Black Robed Apprentice has died!

Blacked Robed Mage: The Black Robed Mage summons his own Elemental to counter Djorks! |  It is incredibly powerful... and also incredibly vicious.  It turns around and fries the Black Robed Mage in an instant!

Complexo Ventus : Weak Air Shift, to dodge away//move farther from that elemental.
