Yeah but you don't use Ritter as form of address. That's why i chose Freiherr, i often enough heard it when somebody talked of a low Noble i.e.: a Knight. When i still remember it correctly a landed Knight would be a Freiherr.

No, a landed knight would be still a Ritter, probably called Ser (or Herr, which is is the english Sir) ;)

Freiherr is a title like the baron.

Who of us two is the native speaker? XDDD

Although you are wrong with the Ritter. In German Nobility there was the distinction between a unlanded, household Knight (a Ministerialer), or a landed knight whose title i currently can't find. Although officially there wasn't a rank distinction between those two the landed knights often sneered upon the Households.

About the Herr, it's a bit tricky with it. Herr is not used as a direct noble title. As for example Graf Dragor in case of the count. It is used as a honourable adress like Sir or Lord ( as in " My Good Sir or My Lord" " Mein Herr) but in opposition to the Sir which is used as a direct Adress like "Good Morning Sir Dragor" for a knight it doesn't work in German. You dont say "Guten Morgen Herr Dragor". THe problem here being that the german word Herr is also used as Mister.

so if you say

"Mein Herr" you mean a superior Noble ( or somebody you would adress in a highly polite way as in " My Good Sir" " My Lord" and even as the adress to somebody you don't know " Entschuldigung mein Herr aber könnten sie mir sagen wie spät es ist?" " Excuse me but could you tell me the time?")

"Herr Dragor" you talk to somebody in a polite way ( Like Mr. Dragor)

but you don't use

"Herr Dragor" as  an adress to a Knight  ( Like " Sir Dragor" for the english Knight)

*Fake Edit*

ok after a quick look into the Knigge i found that you adress the german ritter the following way:

example Name: Ritter Harald von Stonetree
adress: Herr Harald Ritter von Stonetree

or to make the whole thing more wieldy: Herr von Stonetree.

That means a Knight without lands so without a von Whatever is adressed like any normal peasant.

I'm a native german :I

Also, that polite "Herr" is a modern use, so it's not really relevant for the Middle Ages. Somewhere around the 17. century, it lost his meaning and now it's just used as polite manner to speak with someone.

Also, I looked it up, the adressing for a knight is Hochwohlgeboren or high-born.

Well, wikipedia says this.

We have sheep and gems.
So...for the whole reign of the Iron Queen, the only surplus resource all our lands provided was wool, sheep meat, and gemstones?

Wonderful.  :P

So I get, when 3 nobles set up trade routes for 2d, they get +1d per year in return, as well as providing a now-tradeable resource for others, like horses for cavalry?

You can indeed make up some history as long as it does not contradict the stuff of other people. We are always accepting new players, but that does not mean all players will be approved. I've decided that, unlike in the other YaK's, I would not allow everyone to join, in case someone fails to correct his mistakes multiple times or just doesn't understand how the game works. It is really easy to get approved though.

[...](Thinking most specifically of a crusade)
If this is such, then this must be one huge bit of lore.

A crusade's foundation stands on the recovery of claiming of a certain entity. This means, the Aldranics must've lost something is the long past...and it ties in with our local neighbors, and the Haegar peoples.

A crusade might be too big to add. The game's already started, and we never mentioned anything like that so... Wouldn't make much sense to add it in now.

Yeah, as soon as I can actually afford a Spy specialist, I fully intend to try and automate general gossip receipt so I don't have to keep asking GMs to roll for it all the time.  That way we can save said rolls for searching for specific gossip.  >.<

Player: Deny
Position: Wandering knight
Full Name: Galhard Thunderhound, The Howling Knight
Bio: His family, the Thunderhound's were named so for their skill on the horse, and were often amoung the front of a cavalry charge, Galhard was 2 when the War of the Hounds started, however as a Thunderhound may only be considerd a man once he has succesfuly completed a horseback challange, not before or after, his fine skills with his horse, Moonstrider, ment that he joined the war at 14. His family supported the north and so, being a Thunderhound, he often particapated in many of the raids against the southerners, Galhard didn't enjoy the task of slaughtering innocent women and children, but he did his duty to the royal line, often hanging back from the slaughter. He witnessed the destruction of many houses of the south, along with many towns and villages, he didn't particapate in many battles, a detail that he dispiesed, and often commented that all he has done is butcher innocent people, calling himself a maruader, not a soilder.

It was after just 1 year of service that he finally drew the line, with his older brother, Silguard, they particapated in an assult on the border town of Silmest, a small fishing village on the south side of the Drachengrab, it was not very well defended, and so the Thunderhounds easily breached it, and they then set about slaughtering the locals. It was as Silguard prepeared to kill a young boy who was no more that seven, who was bravely and foolishly, attempting to protect his mother with a small knife, that Galhard couldn't stand any more, he stopped his brother, holding his arm back, however Silguard was in a rage, and then turned his blade on Galhard. Galhard, while being a very skilled swordsman skilled horseman, he was also highly admired for his swordsmanship, and quickly turned the tables on his brother, however as his brother made one last lunge, Galhard's sword pierced his heart, ending his life then and there. Galhard was shocked, he had not only killed another Thunderhound, but his own brother! He took his horse, and fled the town.

After that he managed to flee out of what was to be Windheath, and went about the known world as a wandering knight, on a pilgrimage to serve any he could. And so he missed the destruction of the Thunderhounds and the loss of their lands, another casualty of war. And he missed the victory of the north, just seven months after he left, he knew nothing of what had happened in his homeland for some time. First he went south, where he was disgusted by the constant sacrificing, he never had been a fan of slavery, often buying slaves to set them free, and the sacrifices of people were too much, so he left those land quite quickly. He then went further south to the lands of the Saelradians, he found their culture quite ineresting, but a bit too religius. Galhard then left for the Ralkarian lands, here he enjoyed many benifits for the services he provided, but he felt he was getting lazy and so left for the Ampyrian lands.

He rather disliked the matriachal society of the Ampyrian's often getting rather severe beatings for his behavior, yet he did some service for them too, although he disliked being beaten in single combat by women multiple times. Among the Selendids he was disliked, and he had to work rather hard in order to pay his time as he put it. After that he went to the Duluk's whom he impressed with his horsemanship, and he learned a few tips from them as well, then he went to the Eldanic lands, where he finally learned of how much time had passed, he then completed his time in the Eldanic lands before finally heading back to Windheath. After so many long years away he belives that he has earned the right to come back to his house, and serve his king, of course he doesn't know of the fate of the Thunderhounds.

Traits:
Skilled horseman, +1 to combat rolls when fighting from horseback
The Thunderhounds were highly skilled horsemen, and Galhard was skilled among the Thunderhounds
Master swordsman, +1 to standerd combat rolls
Galhards skills with the blade were what helped him on his long pilgrimage/self banishment
